The rules are simple. Don’t talk to the men, don’t communicate with the outside, stay loyal to the family. Gina tries to follow the rules, but every time she turns around there’s a new rule! It’s only a matter of time until she breaks one and becomes… Alejandro’s Prey. He’s an enforcer, second-in-command to one of South America’s leading crime lord’s. Rules are his life. He gave her one year – … one year – one year to adjust to him and his rules. But his sweet little mouse broke the rules and now she’s his.
Only someone else wants her, too…
Alejandro’s Prey is a mafia romance novella. Though this book is part of The Queens series and takes place one year after Scarred Queen, it can be read as standalone. Guaranteed HEA, NO cheating, NO cliffhanger.more
Short. steamy read with lots of action.
the way they fell for one another was so darn adorable considering how serious their surroundings were. Gina could also be a great mob wife after what happened in the end but I enjoy her character in this storyline since shes so much different from all of them. the way she would talk so firmly here and there unexpectedly had me falling in lov with her. his mother was a great side character although it would of been nice for her to pop up more often in the story.
Reading the Scarred Queen before this novella would help greatly in understanding the back story and gives more meaning to what is happening
and alejandro’s mom needs her own story! haha I would totally love to read about her during her prime
“The man she loved was a monster. A monster that loved her back and would never let her go.”
I’ve loved this series and just found this little gem while awaiting Raina’s story in Born a Queen. I enjoyed this novella more than I thought I would when I started reading it. It took me a few pages and then I was hooked.
“I know all about family and loyalty. I know who my family is and where my loyalty lays.”
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book was dark and intense. At the end I wanted more. Loved Alejandro and hope there is more to come in this series. I love Nikita Slater and highly recommend this book.
“I just can’t abide the touch of another man’s eyes on your skin. It belongs to me, all of it, every single inch. Mine.”
I love a dark, dominant hero who doesn’t hesitate to go after what he wants. I also love when the heroine is innocent and doesn’t know what type of hero she’s dealing with at first. This makes the story into an intense page-turner. Alejandro’s Prey provided all that and more. The story was riveting from the start and when I was finished with the book, I was left wanting more.
Alejandro Morales is not a typical guy you see on the streets everyday. He is the type of man you only come into contact with if you have a connection with a criminal organization. He is bad to the bone. Nothing can stop him from claiming what is his. Of course, Gina is his from the moment he lays eyes on her.
Gina has not lived her entire life in the criminal world. She is only brought in when her cousin finds out that she is alive (which is a whole other story in Scarred Queen). That is when she meets Alejandro. He stalks her every move, watching and waiting, preparing himself to pounce. Then he ruthlessly incorporates her into his life. Gina is drawn to him from the start so she doesn’t put up much of a fight.
This is not the type of story that ends up in a happily-ever-after. But it does leave you wondering what happens next. Overall, it was an amazing read. I can’t wait to read more books from this series.
Alejandro is the second in command to a mafia crime lord. He is relentless and disciplined and has been waiting for the moment when he can officially claim Gina as his own. He has kept his little mouse secluded and separated from the men and under strict instruction to follow all of his rules. Gina’s whole family was murdered and she believed she was the only one to survive. Now she’s been reconnected with the cousin she thought was dead and is back in the world she once escaped. Alejandro has her under lock and key and she is forced to secretly fight against the rules he has made. She is not the meek and quiet mouse he thinks she is.
Alejandro’s Prey is a fast paced sexy dark read that will capture your attention from page one. The characters are dynamic and the story line is engaging. This is definitely a five star must read!
Alejandro’s Prey freaking amazing I couldn’t stop reading I tryed but just couldn’t. This book is about a Gina and Alejandro love story he waited a year to have her, after attempt assassination and kidnapping Alejandro finds out who was the one behind it all. This was a well plotted book I hope there is more to come from the series.
Nikita Slater was in the zone with the book. It was breathtaking from beginning to end. Every word served a purpose, which kept me highly engaged.
The character development was phenomenal. The layers of depth the author added to each character was simply astounding. I loved both Gina and Alejandro. The chemistry between them felt like it jumped off the pages. Nikita delivered not just an alpha I fell in love with but a heroine I adored. The world building was extremely vivid and done with an incredible attention to detail. All of these together painted such a real picture I felt as if I could walk right into the book.
Most of all that storyline grabbed me immediately and didn’t let go. There were so many twists and surprises I didn’t know what would happen. The author was able to elicit strong emotions from me at each turn and I devoured the book in one sitting.
5 stars for an engaging, emotional and intense read! Highly recommend!
I loved this novella! It is a great mafia read. I wish it was longer because I did not want it to end!
I enjoyed Scarred Queen a lot, so having secondary characters based off of it was a treat. This is based on Reyes’s right hand man Alejandro. He is meticulous, focused, stoic, and aware. I wouldn’t have thought he was capable of such qualities, but I was wrong. Gina is his kryptonite. Casey’s cousin (& nanny) is definitely a heroine I found myself admiring. She was different. She was nerdy, she was shy, and she was everything Reyes promised Alejandro he could have.
Both Gina and Alejandro are multifaceted characters that were developed beautifully. The plot has twists and turns that wasn’t predictable. This novella was a definite YES!
Alejandro’s prey was exactly as it stated…Angelina “Gina” Giancarlo was his prey. Alejandro Morales was recruited by Reyes and is his second-in-command/enforcer. He is ruthless, obnoxious and deadly after becoming a military commando then mercenary. His first teacher was the Scorpion another famous assassin before his/her retirement. Alejandro initially was enlighten with Gina on her first visit to her cousin country but he waited a year to make his emotions known.
Gina Giancarlo was raised in the mafia family but she survived her family demise because she was away at school. She was reunited with her only living relative, Casey through Sosa, the Venezuela mob boss.
The story was a good read with deadly obsession, kidnapping and a dark deep secret revealed. A fast paced action filled story well worth the reading.
just sos so
Rules rules rules my does that man love to lay down rules! Alejandro is a sexy dangerous man who has marked the lovely Gina for his own. Gina is a sweet caring woman who seems a little timid at first but it is always the quiet ones you have to watch out for. Yes on the surface Alejandro seems to get his way but Gina in her own way pushes his boundaries when it matters to her. I got quit a kick out of Alejandro’s mother. I want to be just like her lol. This novella includes steamy scenes, some violence, and a commanding male character who has determined he has waited long enough for his woman. Enjoy!
