I am so glad that I found this wonderful author, Riley Edwards. Her books are so amazing. This is another example of her great writing and stories. All of her characters are very complex and they are dreams come true. Her heroes are the type of guys you want beside you all the time. Alec’s life has had a total 180 in the last 6 months, he’s left his government job, bought a house in a new city and now he’s not got a 9 month old baby that came out of nowhere. He’s totally out of his comfort zone, but don’t forget, he’s a SEAL, and they gets stuff done. Que Macy, and his life gets double complicated in an instant, but he’s all in.
The journey that Ms. Riley takes us on is epic, it covers all kinds of emotions and I loved every minute of of. The problems her characters encounter are real and the emotions run the gamut. I cried, I smiled, I cringed and I laughed. I read this in two sittings, cause I could not put it down. I am honoured that I am part of her advanced reader team. I recommend this author, this book and this series.
I received this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
Alex clues in to Macy’s reality by accident, and decided he’s going to help. Macy stands firm and wants to take care of things on her own. Danger she’s never experienced helps her see the light of having help. This is an intense book. Fantastic story.
I can’t say enough how excited I get every time I read a new Riley Edwards books. She is one of my favorite go-to authors and she has yet to disappoint me. This is just another fine example of why I love her books. Single mom of 2, fighter and all around strong woman, Macy is not equipped to handle her ex’s debt of his bookie that comes to collect. Alec is more than just a new;y single Dad, he’s a former Navy Seal that not only can handle Macy’s troubles but the man that just might prove her wrong about relationships. Sexy and action packed. I loved this read.
A rollercoaster ride of emotions. I love Alec and Macy. They are strong, independent, and protective of family and each other. There is action and suspense throughout the story, along with strong sex appeal. This is a great book for the Gemini Group Series. I highly recommend the book and the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It’s impossible to choose a favorite scene from this book; Alec Hall is gentle and affectionate with Jocelyn, passionately protective over Macy, and caring and amazing with Caleb and Rory. A survivor of an abusive marriage, Macy is terrified to trust anyone, including Alec, and, as a witness to so many of those abusive screaming tirades, so is Caleb. The other Gemini Group members are in this too, and they also get their good news. But there is a madman after Macy, and he has bad enemies that are also on the attack. Caleb has to work hard to protect her and win both her trust and Caleb’s. That Macy and her family absorb Jossy into their unit is so awesome to watch, and, frankly, I think Alec will be in readers’ dreams by the time the book is done.

I was so excited to read this book. The entire Gemini Group series has been phenomenal and Alec’s story was another hit! I felt bad for Macy, but I don’t think there is any woman out there who can’t relate to her on some level. All Macy wanted is for her kids to be healthy, happy, and loved. But she ran into a very relatable obstacle: herself. In her journey to give her kids everything she let herself be a punching bag and a doormat, basically the opposite of what she was trying to teach her kids. Alec had his life turned upside down with a baby he didnt know he had. His baby daughter brought him closer to Macy. I understood her reluctance to get close with Alec, but was so happy when she finally let him in. This story was a bit of a slow burn with a nice amount of suspense and save-the-day alpha.
I either received part of the series free and the ones that were not complimentary I purchased…I enjoyed the stories of the characters contained in the continuing saga. The male leads are strong, some silent, some broken…but all happy in the end.
Oh this is a good story if you need to take your mind off your troubles. From the beginning the story takes hold and your committed to the end
Great book. Well thought out story line.

I absolutely love the writing of Riley Edwards. Each book gives us something different even though they fee so alike. All alpha protective ex military men do what they do best. Up next is Alec. A man who knew of no family until social services called him up and explain about a surprise……….Jocelyn. 3 months old and his child. We also have Macy, divorced, trying to get her ex to toe the line and all the while working and protecting her kids. Things never go to plan when an ex is involved. I loved the dynamics between Macy and her children and then when Alec and Jossy were added to the mix. Although to be honest I did roll my eyes loads with the way Macy handled her ex. I think she should of shut him down sooner. An awesome read in this series Andi can’t wait for Chasin’s book.
Alec’s Dream is the forth book in the Gemini series. Alec Hall, former Navy Seal and DHS agent is struggling with changes in his life. After leaving the DHS, he finds out he has a child that he know nothing about. Macy Spenser is the manager of his daughter Joss’s Daycare, and someone to whom he is inexplicably drawn. Witnessing a heated argument between Macy and her ex enrages his alpha side as he vows to protect her and her kids.
Alec’s Dream has it all- suspense, action, violence and romance. As per usual, Riley makes you a part of the story, drawing you in and refusing to let go. The perfect mix of romance and action, if you have not yet read any of Riley’s work, I highly recommend that you do. She is definitely one of my go to authors!
Alec Hall is a former Navy Seal that works for the Gemini Group. He’s is also a single father to baby Jocelyn. Macy Spencer is the manager of the daycare that Jocelyn attends, and she’s also a single mom to Aurora and Caleb. Sparks fly between Alec and Macy, but they are both reluctant to act on their attraction. That is until Alec witnesses Macy’s ex-husband (and jerk off extraordinaire) getting in her face at the daycare. From that moment on, Macy is front and center on Alec’s radar, whether she likes it or not. This book is filled with suspense, danger, love, loyalty, family, and friends that are family.
Alec’s Dream is book 4 in Riley Edwards Gemini Group series. While it’s not necessary to read the previous books in the series, I’d recommend it! They are just that good
This book has all the feels and is completely amazing! Each of Riley’s books has drawn me in in their own special way but this book, Alec’s Dream, there is just something extra special about it that had me feeling a little bereft when I had to say goodbye to Alec, Macy and their children. I definitely could have gone for more of this bunch. These characters fought hard and truly deserved their happy ending and their story is an expressive display of perseverance, dedication, surrender, acceptance, forgiveness, and profound love.
The best reading experience for this book is a quiet place where you can sink into a comfy chair and become absorbed in this wonderful read until you reach the last page; believe me, you will have a hard time stopping once you become engrossed with Alec and Macy and their sweet children. Or you can do like me and start reading late at night and fight to keep your eyes pried open and scramble for eye drops the next day for the red eyes, lol! You will also need tissues on hand for the emotional journey these two characters will travel including the hard truths they will share, the internal struggles they will endure, and the love they will ultimately find. At the start of the book the battle lines are drawn and it is a clash of wills to find a balance of compromise, trust, understanding, and acceptance for these two strong-willed, determined characters.
I absolutely loved Alec! At the end of book three, Weston’s Treasure, the readers are given a glimpse of what lies ahead for Alec and it was most definitely shocking and I could not wait to get my hands on his story…and oh, boy what a story! Alec’s life has completely upended and he is still trying to catch up. The scenes with him and his baby daughter, Joss, are totally precious and the scenes with him and Macy’s children, especially Caleb, are so well done (tears here) and then Rory’s hilarious trivia conversations from school (laugh out loud funny). It all just blends beautifully into a wonderful read. When he and Macy clash, the air sparks, and the heat rises in a delicious way that will keep you anxiously holding out for their mutual surrender.
This read is an edge-of-your-seat, gripping, passionate tale with charming characters and an engaging storyline filled with laughter, sadness, drama, suspense, danger, action, and romance. I definitely had a battle with my kindle over this one – from laughing to crying to yelling to gushing over the sweetness, this story is amazing! The children in the story are skillfully crafted to blend into the storyline and pertinent situations perfectly.
Thank you, Riley Edwards, for the arc of this book and for the wonderful story you have written. I loved every bit of it!
Everyone deserves an Alex to build you up, protect, love and cherish and Macy will have that dream if only she’ll give her trust and heart to him. This book shows all of us how badly some can damage their partners and their children but it also takes on a beautiful journey of self healing, gaining confidence and learning that there are partners out there that want the dream too…Loved it!!
I really really hate it when I have spent a bunch of time typing a review that was concise, cute, funny in places, and sincere, and the website signs me out, and I lose all that work. If you allow us to sign in with Facebook, let’s be sure it works, ‘kay? This is why I could not be an author. If I was on the inspiration train and pouring my soul into characters and lost work, I would lose my mind. Now it’s just trying to recreate my masterpiece review. Sigh.
So, I’m reading Alec’s Dream, and I think this guy is so noble, he’s so good, he’s like a knight in shining armor. Wait. What’s another word for a knight? So I head to synonym.com (yeah, I do nerdy stuff like that. I want to know all the words) and find the word paladin. A paladin was noble – check Alec is noble. Champion of a cause – check – that cause here has a name, Macy. He’s heroic, yes definitely. And chivalrous, he’s so very gallant and brave. Now, I will interject he’s not perfect. The honest introspection of his past behavior and the repercussions of that behavior are impressively genuine. Our actions have a ripple effect.
Alec’s Dream is Riley Edwards’ fourth installment in the Gemini Group series, and while I have enjoyed all her heroes, I do believe Alec is my favorite. We have Nixon, the hero who has returned home to find his match in McKenna. There’s Jameson, our dark, broody guy with a heart of gold who finds his light in Kennedy. Super duper nice guy Weston who finds the buried treasure in Silver. (yeah I did that play on words) Now we have Alec, and he is just a hero. He’s a hero to the family that needs him. He’s a hero to a little girl he didn’t even know existed. He’s a dream come true to Macy. Yeah, he’s a paladin. Please give him a steed and some armor; he’s that guy.
Every time I read one of Riley’s novels, I think, wow, she’s done it to me again. She writes emotions (deep emotions) that make your heart twist without leaving you in the land of angst. That is a delicate balance, and this book was no different. The feels were real. I so enjoyed this installment in the series and can’t wait until we get the next story. I doubt he will be a paladin of Alec’s caliber, but I’m sure Riley will create a uniquely swoon-worthy character for me to enjoy.
If you haven’t read a Riley Edwards book you need to from her 707 series to Gold Team to the Gemini series she puts you into the book. You feel like you know everyone and you feel everything they feel. This book center on Alex who has left his job in Washington to work for Gemini group and raise his 9 month old daughter who he didn’t know he had. Macy is Jocelyn’s daycare provider who has a crazy ex husband. I laughed and I cried with Macy. This book has some action with the ex who you want to take care of yourself. You won’t be disappointed in this book . I received this book for an honest review.
Let me just put it out there front and center…I absolutely adore Alec Hall. He may have just become my second all time favorite male character. He’s brash, dirty talking, honest to a fault, loyal, protective, pulls no punches and is hot as sin. Riley Edwards creates memorable characters and she hit a grand slam with Alec. That being said, I was equally captivated by Macy Spencer. She’s one helluva woman whose life has been in turmoil since the day she chose the wrong man to marry and got in so deep that getting out almost became impossible. Yet, she did it. But, staying out has put her almost to the end of her tether. Years of emotional, mental and psychological abuse heaped upon her by ex-husband have, taken their toll. She struggles to believe that she deserves to be protected and loved by a man like Alec. Fortunately Alec is up to the challenge and with his steely resolve he slowly breaks down the walls that Macy has erected.
Finally getting what they’ve only dare to dream about, Alec and Macy slowly form their family. It’s not all sunshine and roses though. Her ex is playing a deadly game. Macy, Alec and their children are caught in the crossfire, literally. Now it’s up to the Gemini Group, with Alec leading the charge, to put a stop to the danger permanently.
What I love about romance books is that the villains always get their comeuppance!
Macy has had so much trouble from her now ex husband that she is hanging on to her sanity by a thread. She is a loving mother to Aurora and Caleb and just trying to get through day by day.
Alec meets Macy at the daycare centre she runs and his daughter attends. After witnessing a distressing scene between her and the ex husband, he is invested to provide protection and support.
The story is full of action, entertainment, wonderful characters, great camaraderie and friendship. Some scenes are distressing and heartbreaking but the Happily Ever After prevails .
