** Book #2 in the Slater Brothers series. **
Keela Daley is the black sheep of her family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black. Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride-to-be and the spotlight is solely on her. Keela is a low priority…or so she thinks.
Alec Slater is a bachelor, never one to bed the … never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one; that is until a fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair colour knocks him on his arse. Literally.
She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favour from the cocky Slater brother, a huge favour. She needs him to not only escort her to Micah’s wedding, but to also pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help Keela, but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body and plans to have it before anyone can say I do.
What he doesn’t plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his family when someone from his past threatens his future.
Alec owns Keela, and what Alec owns, Alec keeps.

These Slater brothers are all very Hot Alpha males and are an extremely close knit family. They take care of their own and that includes the women each guy brings into the fold. They are handsome, tattooed, tall, muscular and hilariously funny. Alec used to work as a bisexual escort for the mob-like business his Fathers business partner ran after his parents were murdered by the same partner.
Since the brothers got out of that situation, Alec has been between jobs, living on his earnings which are plentiful. When Keela asks Alec to do him a favor and attend a destination wedding in the Bahamas as her Date so she can save face, he agrees. He wants Keela and he feels for her after hearing her story about how the groom used her by dating her to get back at her cousin for cheating on him. Then dumped her as soon as her cousin Micah forgave him.
During the week long festivities in the Bahamas, the two get close and find that they like each other a lot. Similar to the first book, these two bicker a lot and their wars of words are often witty and amusing. The romance is steamy, especially since he is a former Escort and really knows what he is doing. Also I like these books because the guys are really good to the girls. They stand up for them and protect them and show their feelings even when they haven’t yet figured out what those feelings are.
Alec is one of my fav books ever and as much as Dominic and Bronagh are my favourite couple and introduced us to the Slater clan, for some reason this will be my favourite book in the series.
I loved this story, I loved Keela and Alec and this book had me hooked from the start. The storyline was perfect and La Casey writes perfectly and gets the perfect amount of humour, and sex and action to keep us all entertained.
Keela was for me a perfect character she was strong, independent, sassy, and has the best attitude. I loved how Keela was connected to the group just a little on the outside but she got right in the middle of a loving unconventional family.
Keela didn’t grow up in a loving family and she felt her only family she could trust was her Uncle but he was a little shady as well. Keela really kept a lot of people at arms length so Alec had his work cut out for him to get past her brick wall.
Alec is the most interesting character and I loved him to death, he was sweet, sexy, sarcastic, and flirty and I loved his one liners. He really just lived life for the moment and was very carefree compared to his brothers. I loved his tenacity and the fact that he was not giving up on Keela even if it meant hurting her to save her being heartbroken
If your looking Perfect story, perfectly written, full of humor, action and excitement and such and this is such an exciting series and Is one of my favourite ever and on Audio it was perfectly read and loved listening to the story aswell.
Big big 5 Stars
Oh Alec, how you make me laugh till I’m crying!! Between Keela’s awesome attitude of taking no bs from no one to Alecs historical antics you will not be able to put this down. We do get to find out about Alecs secret past and what is job for the family entailed, which will blow your mind. But these two firecrackers are perfect for one another no matter how much Keela wants to deny it. Keela ends up needing Alec’s help which Alec is more than willing to help. Especially since it means spending more time with Keela. Go read the book to find out more details, you won’t be disappointed.

Alec is the second book of the Slater Brother series. It’s another humorous adventure with emotional twists throughout the saga. It’s a storyline filled with suspense, depth, dimension and complexity.
Although all the Slaters are gorgeous alpha hunks, Alec is the known pretty boy of the crew. He meets Keela Daly through her best friend and sparks fly immediately. She’s beautiful, sassy and is immune to Alec’s charm. He’s now the hunter and she’s the prey, but it’s never that easy.
I like the premise of the story. Casey set it up well. Alec and Keela meet under a conflict but are intensely attracted; yet Keela refuses to admit it while Alec assumes it’s purely a physical attraction that can easily be sated. Keela needs a favor and the fun begins.
The basis of the storyline was strong but the rudeness and hostility got old quickly and it became repetitive. Once Keela began to lighten up, about half way through the book, I began to enjoy it again.
I like how Casey intersected the two books. I felt like I was reading a continuation of the first book with a shift in focus to another brother. This worked well for me. Casey continued to develop each character allowing us to invest further in the entire family. This requires skill and Casey achieved it successfully.
All in all, Alec was entertaining, adventurous, and humorous. A good foundation for additional books in the series.
Alec isn’t your normal romantic novel. It’s twisted as hell but I loved Alec so much that I recommend it. It was the first Slater brother novel I happened upon and had to go back and read Dominic not that I didn’t understand what was going on. LA Casey is witty and gritty and a fun read but this one had its tough moments too.
Keela Daley doesn’t care that her cousin Micah is getting married. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t want to know anything about it. Her cousin is a bitch and her fiancé is a jerk, who used and betrayed Keela. Still, God forbid if she misses the big occasion. Her mother would never forgive her. But facing the firing squat alone is the last thing she will consider doing. That’s where Alec Slater fits in. Gorgeous, cocky and an experienced seducer, he is just the man to escort her to this family affair. Except it is hate at first sight for her. He gets under her skin and down to her last nerve. Alec has never met someone like Keela. She is feisty, doesn’t take his crap and is by far the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. He wants her desperately and doing her this favor is just his ticket to winning what he wants the most. Until what they both want is way more than what they’ve bargained for. And when their families become the reason to stay apart, love might just not be enough. L.A. Casey is brilliant. Just as in Dominic and Bronagh, Alec is a fantastic read, which will make you laugh aloud, squirm in your seat, jump for joy and bite your nails off. And the best news? There are still three more brothers to go…
