She just didn’t know how great.

As overachiever Haley soaks up the serenity of her unexpectedly agreeable surroundings, she finds something else she doesn’t expect — deep feelings for the wildlife-loving boat captain who reminds her how to laugh.
With her unborn niece or nephew on the way and thousands of miles of ocean between their lives and careers, Haley and Ben settle for a friendship. But back home in California, the emptiness in Haley’s heart begins to fester. When her pregnancy takes a frightening turn, she must examine what really matters — and rediscover the childhood dream she never realized she had lost.

Good book. Pretty tame and mild, but also super sweet… if you can stand books with a lot of sexual tension.
Alaskan Dawn is a slow-burn romance but not for the usual reasons. Haley Olsen knew that offering to carry her twin sister’s baby would be a sacrifice. She just never guessed how great! When her sister and her widowed mother were getting on her last nerve, she knew she had to get away. On top of that, she is an overworked high-power lawyer. A getaway vacation is what she needed. Her uncle had left her and her sister a cabin in Alaska. She felt this was the place she needed to go.
There are two other cabins on the land she had inherited. One was rented by a handsome captain of a tour boat. His name was Ben Parker. He was everything she was not. Genuine. Uncomplicated. Serene. Down-to-earth. Joyful. Doesn’t seem fair to find your perfect soulmate when you are four-months pregnant with your sister’s baby. Alaska is surrounded by sights and sounds that were peaceful, natural and beautiful. With the help of Ben she gains a new perspective. She never wanted to leave. To leave Alaska or Ben. Reality would take her away from all this serenity and she didn’t know when she would or could return.
The boat tour in this book was so descriptive. I loved picturing the whales and other sea creatures. It had one of the best descriptions of summer in Alaska. I would have read the book just for that!
Really enjoyed this story. Would have continued with subsequent books if not for the many I still haven’t read. Will definitely get back to this series.
The central characters in this story are so realistic and the portrayal of life in Southern CA is so accurate it was like being transported back there. Having cruised Alaska and spent time on Maui, I can attest to their accurate portrayal. Loved how the final solution was such a good fit for both central characters; nicely engineered. I liked the crisp writing style and overall plot line. Good stuff!
I injoyed the book held my interest waiting to see how things would go. Can’t go into basic don’t want to give away plot.
Makes me want to visit Alaska—in the summer

Loved it! Felt like I traveled with them in the beautiful Alaskan land and sea. Beautiful love story.
Don’t you just love it when you’ve traveled somewhere and then read about it? I could picture the whole story. Well captured by the author.
I was introduced to this author through Bookbub with Alaskan Dawn. It totally draws you into the characters and the surroundings from page 1! I wanted to book a trip to Alaskan after reading it! I immediately read the other 3 in this series, and loved everyone! The characters, storylines, locales are just so realistic, I felt like I knew them all, breathed the Alaskan air, the tropical breezes of Hawaii… so glad I found this author, and can’t wait to read more!
