Welcome to Whynot, North Carolina, population 3,872. It has one stoplight, one bar, and the one-and-only Trixie Mancinkus.Eleven years ago, Trixie graduated Harvard Law, turned down a job offer from one of the most prestigious law firms in Boston, and headed home to Whynot to open her own firm. Not only did she leave behind the big city, but she also left her boyfriend of three years. And just so … And just so we’re clear… that would be me.
So what am I doing in Whynot at this very moment? It seems Trixie needs help with a legal case and for some insane reason, she called on me for assistance. I’ve been in town for five minutes, and I’m every bit as out of place as I feel. Trixie is all sweet, southern curves to my tailored suits and high-priced haircuts. It’s a culture clash of north versus south and about the only thing we have in common is our physical attraction to each other.
But I have a new motto since coming to Whynot: When life hands you lemons, all you need is a little sex and sweet tea to make things better.

The history of the two main characters had me from the start. Opposites can actually attract. It was funny, yet serious. They have a special connection that made the story magical and stressful as the same time. I enjoyed this book very much!
A funny look into the lives of star crossed attorneys!
This book was an easy vacation read since it did not require any concentration to sort characters, however, it was too simple to receive a fantastic rating. The entire book was totally predictable an lacked any outstanding features.
Enjoyable read! I recommend this book.
Quick, fun read.
Cute easy to read story
Love it,bought her other books, kept me up all night laughing.
Great characters. Trixie is unique. Small Town USA for sure. No spoiler alerts!
I liked the characters in the story. I liked the background that was given on the grandfather and the role and relationship he had with his granddaughter. I did not care for the way each chapter kept switching back and forth from each person’s point of view. It was a little confusing at times. I liked the ending of the story however there was a lot that happened in a very short amount of time. I think the story could have been developed a little more to be believable even with the main characters previous history. I would read more from this author and in particular future stories about the other family members.
Great read. Entertaining
Cute read and I appreciate that the characters actually communicated with each other. And I got a kick out of some of the references as I live right outside of Raleigh too!
an easy read with several laughs. Will look for this writer again.
I liked the story of separated soul mated being reunited.
Sweet, encouraging home & family.
Humor and romance….fun read.
I enjoyed every book I have read of hers. Always entertaining and keeps you interested in reading on.
Cute fun story. I’d give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The book is “precious.” I’m looking forward to reading the next story!
Laugh all the way through this precious story! Easy fun read that leaves you smiling
Fast fun read.
This was such a fun, witty, over-the-top good time I found myself smiling and laughing while reading and couldn’t read it fast enough. Trixie and Ryland were true loves in law school but Trixie was overwhelmed with the big city and after graduation went back to her home town of Whynot, North Carolina, while Ry stayed in Boston. Eleven years later Trixie calls Ry asking for help with a case and he jumps in to help and the sparks fly and ignite the love once again. This was so good and the characters are extra special and the taste of the south is so spot on it felt like I was there.
I recommend this one and I am definitely looking forward to more in this series!
