Age of Secrets: Druid’s Brooch Series: #8 by Christy Nicholas. Love action and great adventure stories then not only this book but all before it are right for you. When I started this series I couldn’t have imagined the fun I’d have with each and every book. This one captured my attention just the same and I knew I was in for another great adventure with characters I wouldn’t soon forget. One of my favorite things about this series and it’s author is that it truly comes alive with every page. The author knows how to write a story that you can just see play out. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Even the smallest details are so vivid you can’t help but feel hooked from page one. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

He can talk, to animals. Like my biggest childhood wish. Yes the 8th book of a series is strange to start with, but we are gonna back track. Finigan has such a pure heart, and I love that. His trek to find his grandma is definitely proof of that.
Age of Secrets (The Druid’s Brooch Series 8) by Christy Nicholas is another wonderful fantasy book in the series and easy to get lost in the storyline and characters. It is a creative adventure full of action and danger, and magic. Christy has a way of writing to make the story pop off the page and the plot is always well developed making the characters come to life.
In this book Fingin is sent off on a journey to find his grandmother. Fingin along with his friends have to face the danger and the obstacles set in his path. Fingin finds his grandmother but things are not what they seem. Now you have to grab a copy if you want to know what happens.
Age of Secrets by Christy Nicholas is the eighth book in the Druid’s Brooch series. This book is as original and enticing as the other books in the series.
Not many authors are skilled enough to carry a series though a few books, let alone 8 of them. And yet with each book this author produces the series just gets better.
This book is everything I have come to expect – it is creative and detailed. The author has a writing style that makes it so easy to imagine the world she is envisioning. The characters have such a depth to them that it is almost like you are there with them, experiencing everything they do.
I have to say this series is nothing at all like I expected when I picked up the first book. I was hesitant, sure that I wouldn’t like it and now I can’t wait to see what might be next. This is a great book and a fantastic addition to the Druids Brooch series.
I have} real enjoyed reading this book. There are may trials and tribulations to content with. This is an extremely creative story and this shows through with the authors written skills. I highly recommend reading all books in this series to get a better understanding of this amazing world. This the 8th book in the Druid’s Brooch Series. I cannot wait for the next book
This is the eighth book in this series, the best yet. I highly suggest reading this series from the beginning, they are full of action and adventure. This book is no different. This is a creative, well written story that took me on an adventure of finding someone who may not even exist. I enjoyed the characters, they made the story feel real. I enjoyed seeing the different characters such as Bran (dog) and Sean (donkey). Fingin finds Bran who leads him to a powerful woman who sends him on an adventure in search of his grandmother. I had a hard time putting this book down once the adventure started. Problem is – she may not even exist. I highly recommend this story to see what happens next.
A dog, a donkey, and magic – what more does a boy need!
Fingan is alone in the world. No family, no friends, no home. His nomad existence is fueled by necessity. Ever since his grandmother gave him the “faerie gift” and took away his ability to speak normally he has been persecuted. If not for his ability to speak with animals, he would have no one to talk to even though most animals are poor conversationalists. The day he saves an enormous wolfhound from drowning in the river is a day to celebrate Bran is both a friend and a protector. Forced to flee again, Fingan and Bran encounter a strange woman in the woods who sends them on a quest to find Fingan’s grandmother and his legacy. She gifts them a donkey to carry their supplies, which Fingan promptly names Sean and the threesome set off on an adventure filled with danger, adversity, and magic.
This is an excellent series; fanciful, but with action and good characters. The plot is well developed and Christy Nicholas makes the world that Fingan lives seem real. I really enjoyed the book and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
It’s a great story. As a longtime student of Irish myth and history, I was already familiar with the Gaelic and the basic myths of the Tuath. Fingin’s ability to talk to the animals is a nice touch and the early addition of Bran and Sean gave him delightful companions. The story was quite interesting, and held my interest to the end. The brooch from his grandmother was actually what I was looking for.
So, it was an enjoyable read and would be especially good for a younger audience.
Fingin is on a journey to find his grandmother. With his friends Bran (a dog) and Sean (a donkey), he takes on the task expecting for there to be a little to no issue. However, that’s not the case, because that would be too easy! Instead, they face moments of danger and unease. Who wants to keep her hidden? Why is this so difficult? He’s struggling to just get to a place where he can sort things out and someone or something wants to stop him at all costs. Once he gets through the thick of it, he finally is able to do what he set out to, find his grandmother. In the end, though, it’s not at all like he thought! Instead, there are a few more magical moments mixed with old-world stories and a lesson in what it means to have love in your life. It’s a beautifully written story. Well done!
