Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch series.
Yet another wonderfully woven tale full of magic. The story makes you feel as if you are there living it. The characters are intriguing and make you feel as if you know them right away. I love the closeness of Conall and his sister, how they lean on each other to make it through trying times. Ammatan is an interesting and colorful character, many facets to him. There are a couple of parts of this story that could go over into another book.
Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7

The story Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7 by Christy Nicholas is a wonderful fantasy book the I loved reading. It is a story that is both interesting and engaging. It hooks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have finished it. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Conall and Lainn. They are brother and sister who at times have disagreements as siblings do. They also care about each other. Conall has promised his father that he would always take care of her. They both are smart, resourceful and talented. Conall is protective of Lainn and is determined to keep her safe. This is a story that includes magic and conflict. What does the future hold for these siblings? Read this book to find out where their lives take them and what happens along the way. I enjoyed how detailed the story is. I felt like I was right there with the characters experiencing what they do. The book has other additional characters. Some are helpful and friendly to Conall and Lainn, others have their own agenda, and some I would call evil. Each has their own unique part to play. I enjoyed reading about the stories and legends that are told. This is a story that you will not be able to put down once you start. I would highly recommend reading it.
Age of Saints is the seventh book in Christy Nicholas’ Druid’s Brooch Series. The books are not chronological, jumping between different centuries, and can be read as standalones or as part of the series. I feel like it would have a been a better story if they were in order but. Understand why it wasn’t. The characters are well written and fun to read.
In my assessment, though I liked them all, this is the best book in the Brooch story. The author pulled me so much in that I forgot the time. This is the story of Connall (the boy with the power of the brooch) and his sister Lainn (who is being trained by the Druids) as they escape from the horrors of home. They find themselves in the Fae world and face many adventures and challenges. The characters from Ammatan to Adhna all add to the flavor of the story. The book is rich in entertainment, rich in storytelling and rich in depth. Absolutely looking forward to the rest of the story.

4 out of 5 stars
Age of Saints is the 7th book in the standalone Druid’s Brooch series by Christy Nicholas. The author continues to impress me with the depth
of her storytelling and the vivid imagery she paints.
This is a fantastic fantasy series I’ve found myself lost in, with characters that are deep and relatable. I have enjoyed every book I’ve read in the series thus far, but there was something about Age of Saints that I loved to the point where I would venture to say it’s my favorite! If you’re looking for a great book series that transports you to another place and time then I honestly can’t recommend the Druid’s Brooch Series or Age of Saints enough.
Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7 by Christy Nicholas
Stars: 4
This story gives us Conall’s and Lainn’s story. These two are siblings and care very much for one another. I enjoyed their relationship with each other. Conall is the holder of the brooch, and he tries to protect his sister the best he can. This leads to several obstacles and conflict for our characters. Christy Nicholas does a fantastic job at describing the world she invents and her characters are wonderfully written.
Conall and Lainn deserve peace! This sibling duo has been through the ringer and most of it not their fault. Conall promised his father he would protect his baby sister with all that he is and what big brother wouldn’t? BUT there isn’t a whole lot you can do with an absolute expletive of an abusive step father and powerful fae out to get you basically just because.
I feel for Conall so much. He loves his sister and wants the best for her. Every decision he makes goes from bad to how could this possibly get any worse…. oh that’s how it could get worse. The only thing I didn’t like in this book was that the ending seemed kind of blah. It wasn’t exactly a cliffhanger but I’m hoping there will be more about these two in the next book. Can’t wait!

The 7th in this series yet stands well on its own, this is my 2nd book by this author and her writing will pull you in and not let go..The descriptions of the surroundings and all that is going on helps in visualizing everything perfectly.
While this is not a chosen genre of mine, I absolutely enjoyed every page and can not wait for the next one which I already have waiting for me, the cover made me notice, the synopsis made me choose it, and the writing has made me stay.
I particularly enjoyed the characters in this story..Conall was awesome and trying to fulfill a promise he made to his father turns out to be more of a challenge than he realized, I loved the family bond between him and Lainn and I loved how real it felt..The interactions between the two made me smile many times.
Looking forward to see where this story goes next and if you are looking for a really good historical fantasy novel do yourself a favor and read all of this series in order..I do plan to do that very soon
Age of Saints by Christy Nicholas
Druid’s Brooch Series #7
My Rating 4 out of 5 stars
This is a great fantastical book. The characters are wonderful and the story line is interesting and entertaining. I did not think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. This is not my usual genre but I do urge anyone who is even thinking of giving this book or this series a try, go for it. It did take a minute for me to fully get into the book but after a certain point I could not stop. L
Conall is a good man and an even better brother for always trying to look out for Lainn, no matter what it means for him. I am so happy that Conall decided it was high time they left their house, leaving their mother and step father behind. Their step father is a slimy nasty man and it was truly was is best for them.
When they get to the Faerie realm and meet Ammatán, I assumed things would only get better for the sibling duo. I was eager to see where the relationship between Conall and Ammatán would progress, as well as see what kind of life they could live in this new world.
One dumb move by Conall and him and his sister are forced to flee from Ammatán’s house and they end up back in their world faced with new problems, they have been gone longer than they expected and a lot has changed. The life they knew is now gone and Lainn’s life is now in more danger than before.
I could really go on and on but fear I will give too much information away, and spoil everything. The ending, I wish there was more, I feel like some things were left unsaid but I have hopes that there will be a follow up to Conall and Lainn’s story. I truly enjoyed reading this book and recommend not just this book, but the whole series.
Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7 by Christy Nicholas is another great addition to this series. This series is a paranormal fantasy series where each story is set in different times. Age of Saints takes us further back in time to almost where it started and the magic became. It also gives us a look back on of the characters we have seen in the other books and shows them in a new light. Each story is a puzzle being put together for the big reveal. Christy’s writing always you to become one with the story and her attention to detail brings it to life. This captivating story is made more enjoyable due to the paranormal and magical elements. But it is also full of adventure and action, drama and romance.
I look forward to the next book.
Age of Saints by Christy Nicholas is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch series. This can be read as a standalone and enjoyed completely. This story follows Conall and his sister Lainn. Conall had made an oath to their father that he would care and protect his sister, Lainn. This story shows how even with the best intentions sometimes an oath is difficult to keep.
I really enjoyed the story and the setting in what would become Ireland. There was lots of detail but not to the point of taking away from the story. I also was concerned because I had not read the series but this is a great self standing book. I look forward to reading more in this series and author in the future.
Age of Saints (Druid’s Brooch #7) by Christy Nicholas exciting and engaging, I couldn’t put this book down.
I am loving this series more and more with each book that is release. With no set timeline, this series does jump-a-round, but still has the same connecting elements. This book reads much like a standalone, but I do suggest reading the other books in this series, as they are amazing and just as magically endearing.
This book takes us back, getting us closer to that ever present magic, and of course were it all began. This book for me, out of all that I have read, is truly the best so far. Maybe it was because it was so far back in the timeline, or, that there was more magic, danger and raw emotions, that seemed to spill of the pages. Whatever the case, I was hooked, and before I knew it, I was done, feeling a little hollow and disjointed. I didn’t know what to do with myself, only to hope that there will be another book. I need another book.
And that is where I will leave you. I don’t want to ramble or gush too much, because I don’t want to spoil this read for you. Just please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will drown in this otherworldly book, full of magic, danger, and the strong emotional bonds of family.
Happy Reading

A fantastic continuation of the series’s i was hooked once again loving every minute. I absolutely adored the relationship between the brother and sister they way they work and care for one another is truly beautiful. I loved how this isn’t just full of magical enchanting fantasy but also packed with suspense that keeps you on your toes and even alittle bit of horror it’s safe to say the series’s gets better and better what a fabulous storyline!!
Age of Saints by Christy Nicholas is the seventh book in the Druids Brooch series. Although this series follows the same family each book can be read as a stand-alone.
Having read a few books in this series it is clear that this author knows how to write deep and complex characters that will engage you as a reader every time you pick up the book. She also creates an elaborate story full of history and fantasy. The two elements combined in this way work so well.
For me this book has got to be my favourite of the series so far. I really enjoyed reading about Lainn. She is a character I connected with instantly and enjoyed reading about from start to finish. This was another good addition to a great series.
Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch Series from Christy Nicholas, don’t panic if you haven’t read the other six yet, or in order, these novels can be read as standalones. Of course your reading experience will always be enhanced when you become invested in a series from the very beginning. I have had the pleasure of doing so with this one and I am glad that I have been just reading in order etc. This one was not my absolute favorite of the series so far. Nothing to do with the writing or the characters, I just really had a difficult time with getting into this books flow. However, this is one of the reasons that I do love the series… these are all rich in historical detail and combines that with the fantasy world to bring to life these fantastical stories that have made up the Druid’s Brooch Series. I think for me however, this set of time was just one I was not as ‘interested’ in so to say and that may have been my catch. Otherwise the characters were fantastic, and the world-building amazing as always! I felt as if I was right there at times. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7
By Christy Nicholas
I loved reading this book, it is filled with so much detail and fantasy that it drew me in from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. This story follows Conall and his sister Liann, he is very loyal and protective of her. Conall made a promise to his dying father and he wants to make everything ok for her. In this wonderful journey we are taken on we encounter danger from more on than one person, wonderful animals and we get to enjoy their strong unbreakable bond. The books in this series can be read as a standalone, but it is my suggestion that you read the entire series because they are all detail rich stories that you won’t want to miss out on. They will take you on a magical journey. The author does an exceptional job making you feel like you are in the story with her wonderful storytelling. I highly recommend this book.
Age of Saints: Druid’s Brooch Series: #7 by Christy Nicholas
4 out of 5 stars
This book has a unique twist on how it presents itself to its reader. This is the 7th book in the Druid’s series. This series is essentially the same story that is told from the points of view from multiple family members in different points in history.
These books are not in chronological order, therefore they can be read standalone, however, as a reader, I feel that it is always best to read a book/series in the order the author wrote them in.
This book, and really this whole series, is heavily laced in history and fokelore is beyond breathtaking and it adds a rich element to the story that builds creates deepth.
Conall and Lainn are the main characters of this story. They are brother and sister who are on the run from a terrible step-father. Conall has inherited the brooch. He is struggling to protect Lainn from their abuse step-father. This story is an emotional rollar coaster. I am an older sibling. i related to this story on a deeper lever for the need to protect a younder sibling. The paranormal, magic and intirgue in this story makes you want to keep turning the page over and over again.
Fantasy lovers will love this book and series. History lover will appreciate the details of this series and both will love how they combine into one beautiful series!

Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. This book takes us further back in the sequence of events, giving us a new perspective on some of the characters, events, magic, and that has driven this story/series. It is primarily an historical fantasy- with paranormal elements, drama, adventure, action, romance, magic, family, duty/responsibility, bonds, and so much more. This book has an M/M romance too, which sets it apart from others in the series.
This story has its own unique identity, but also ‘fits’ wonderfully well with its companions in the collection. As with all the other books in this series, I really love all the attention to detail and the vividly descriptive storytelling that Ms. Nicholas excels at- it brings her stories to life and makes them very realistic, believable, and entirely captivating- and she always delivers a really well written tale. Each book in the series is fascinating on its own, but then you begin to realise that each one contributes a fragment in a bigger picture that is being revealed. Each book draws you in and gets you wondering right from the start. Superb!
The character/s are complex, fully realised individuals who are so cleverly crafted- with interesting and likeable (or detestable natures)- as the author is easily able to sway you one way or another.
I can’t wait to continue this series!
Thank you, Ms. Nicholas!
