When my brothers all but force me to go out with them the weekend before the school year begins, I don’t expect anything more than a few drinks and some laughs. What happens is better than I could’ve hoped for.I meet a strikingly beautiful woman who’s new in town. Our night starts with us laughing and drinking in the bar, moves to my bed, and ends with her disappearing into the night without any … without any exchange of information.
Monday morning, she walks into my calculus class and knocks the breath from my lungs.
My one-night stand is now my student.
Never one to cross the line and always one to play by the rules, I make sure to tell her nothing more can happen. But as time goes on, I start wanting to erase the line and throw the rule book out the window. Because even though it’s against the rules to be with her, I feel like, with Nova, I can find happiness again. But she deserves more than becoming my dirty little secret.

It’s the last weekend before college begins and he’s bogged down grading paper and his brothers dragged him out to get drunk. When a woman who’s caught his attention gets a drink doused on her by a drunk he steps up to help her out. After talking for a little over an hour he takes her home.
Elijah is a professor at the local university. As he prepares for his second class a student arrives early. This can’t be happening to him. She is none other than the woman he took home with him on Saturday. Nova….his student.
Nova is new to town. She left Florida to get away from a boyfriend who became a threatening stalker. Her new sexy math professor will hopefully keep her fears off her mind.
I absolutely loved this book! I haven’t read Royce or Cill’s stories yet, but will definitely be catching up on the family as soon as I can. I love Elijah! Talk about sexy! WOW! The storyline of this book is great. Nova may be younger, but she’s not immature. Elijah does everything he can to stay away from Nova as soon as he realized she was a student. His integrity and love of his family made him even more loveable.
I highly recommend this book. I couldn’t put it down. Isabel Lucero brought all the characters to life and I can’t wait to visit Gaspar again!
The title says it, but it takes the sheer talent of Isabel Lucero to take a trope and make it something fresh and exciting to read.
Nova and Elijah meet in his brother’s bar, their connection is immediate, but things are never what they seem.
Take a trip with the oldest of the Kingston brothers, dive in head first to their love story. You will be happy you did, you will root for this unlikely couple.
This story has everything you need, and plenty to blush over. Do not miss out on this one!
Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited because the minute I finished reading this delicious story, I was able to download On The Rocks and Truth or Dare and complete my binge read of the Kingston men (so far)!
Some rules are meant to be broken …. And I am so glad these two agreed with that! Listen, I read student/teacher and age-gap tropes a lot. They are always my go-to when I’m searching for something to read. They will out win any other trope every single time. Needless to say, I’ve read tons of different plots and characters and authors and I just want to say READ.THIS.BOOK. with enough emphasis so you fully understand you should READ.THIS.BOOK. Was that enough? …
Against the Rules is nowhere near a quick and dirty read. Yes, it is deliciously sexy, but it is also a growth of two people that seem to be worlds apart but in reality, are the perfect fit for one another. I’m not going to give away anything about the story progression except to maybe tell you that this story might take you by surprise. It checks off all the boxes these tropes would have, but not in any way you might be used to reading them. It’s unique and beautiful and packed with emotion! READ.THIS.BOOK.
Nova and Elijah meet in his brother’s bar, their connection is immediate. This is a great book and I loved how there age difference didn’t affect them from having a relationship. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series.

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
A one night stand that breaks all the rules. When they meet again, she’s his student. He’s her professor. This can be read as a standalone.
This was my second Isabel Lucero read! The blurb sounded so promising, and the novel delivered. The Kingston family has grown on me so much; I love these characters so much. The chemistry between the lead couple is incredible. I’m not a fan of student-professor romances, and Isabel Lucero made me love every single second of this story. Their relationship evolved genuinely, and they were so entertaining to read. Nova’s story was mysterious and intriguing. Elijah leads his family; he’s a single professor not in a hurry to settle down. Obviously, Nova tests all of his limits. There’s lots of stubbornness, but they are so cute. The drama in the end was exciting!!! I recommend this story to lovers of age gap, intense chemistry, and student/teacher romance.
ORIGINAL COMMENT
Lucero is a solid one. She doesn’t disappoint. She writes relatable people. Ones you love to invest time in. The chemistry between her characters is astounding. And the Kingston bros are just pure fire. I’m reading all the other Kingston books (I read Cillian’s book early in the year already) in anticipation for Merrick’s book (the arc’s waiting in my Kindle)!
This book is the third book in the Kingston Brothers series which focuses of Elijah’s story. Prior to the start of his college course teaching for the semester, Elijah goes to his brother’s bar and has a one night fling with Nova. The surprise occurs when Nova walks into his calculus course as his student. Obviously fraternization between professor and student is prohibited. I highly recommend this great romance with its amazing characters who try to avoid a taboo relationship.

I loved the newest Kingston Brothers book! Elijah and Nova’s story is so deliciously taboo. The age gap/student-teacher romance was so well done. I also love that the author took a different take on the trope and did not follow the path that most of the trope follows. I loved the story and loved that after going through two books that we finally got Elijah’s story and that he has finally gotten his HEA.
I picked up Against the Rules because I love teacher/student, age gap, forbidden romances but this book was so much more, I couldn’t put it down. I loved Nova and her confidence and all the flirting with Elijah. This is my first book by the Author and I’ll be definitely checking out her previous books!
I really enjoyed Elijah and Nova’s story. Elijah is the eldest Kingston brother and after his parents deaths raised his siblings on his own. His girlfriend left him because he put his brothers first. Ever since he doesn’t believe in relationships. He has a one night stand with a beautiful woman. The next week he finds out she’s a student. He’s conflicted because he’s intrigued by her. Nova is running from her ex. She moves to start over away from her stalker ex and meets Elijah. I thought despite their age difference Nova and Elijah had a lot in common. This was a great story and now I have to go back and read the first books lol.
Wow this is really good college teacher/student romance. Elijah aNd Nova meet in a bar and do the hookup. When school starts Elijah gets the shock of his life when Nova walks into his classroom. The couple share a connection that is strong will they be able to not connect again? The storyline is so well written that I had to complete it in one sitting. The book is a free copy and am reviewing voluntary review.

Oh my! A hot professor and sweet young thing. My kind of read!
Isabel Lucern is now an author on my one-click list.
This is the third Kingston Brothers book and can’t believe that I am now just discovering this series! I loved the age-gap, forbidden romance of Elijah and Nova! There is no denying their attraction to each other but he is her calculus professor and a rule follower thus she is off-limits. I loved watching them discover the easiness of being together and how happy they made each other. They are really sweet together! I am off to binge read On The Rocks and Truth or Dare!
Against the Rules is book 3 in the Kingston Brothers series and it doesn’t disappoint. It tells the story of Elijah and Nova. Elijah is the eldest Kingston brother, during a night out he has an intense attraction to Nova who he thinks is going to be a one-night stand…but boy is he surprised when he finds out that she is his student. Being a college professor, Elijah has a reputation to maintain, but that isn’t going to stop Nova from pulling out all the stops to get her man and to also make him lighten up a little bit.
Nova is really mature for her age and after everything she has been through, you can see why. She is strong, sassy and knows her worth and even though she likes Elijah, that isn’t going to stop her from her dreams, even if many of them feature the broody, almost stuck in a rut, older man.
The chemistry between the two of these characters is off the chart as is their story in general. Even though Elijah and Nova are vastly different, they bring out the best in each other. They both love their family and are looking for their happily ever after. Even though some things get thrown in their way to knock them off track, even their own self-doubt, they just work as a couple and you see the relationship develop as the book moves along.
The author knows how to write amazing characters who are sweet, sexy, strong and individual, it also didn’t hurt that the rest of the Kingston brothers made an appearance too and it looks like we may be getting a little something from Merrick in the near future! This was a wonderful older/younger themed book with hints of the forbidden and some suspense that will make you want to keep turning the pages until the very end!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

Elijah and Nova met one night at a bar and they spent the night together. Imagine their surprise when they meet again but as a professor and a student. They immediately know there would be no way for them to start or continue anything they had despite their explosive chemistry and attraction for each other.
I have been waiting for Elijah’s book and I loved every page of his story. Towards the end though, I don’t know why Nova’s hesitating and backtracking now that they’re together when she was so determined to flirt with him in the first place. But still, I’m glad they had their HEA.
This was a really sexy read! I really liked it.
A new to me author. This was a sweet forbidden contemporary romance and book 3 in Kingston Brothers series.
As I haven’t read previous books in the series, there were few instances I missed the other characters or their past although, this did not interfere or hinder in reading this book.
We have a hot one night stand turn into a whole other scenario when both turns out to be each other teacher and pupil.
It was sweet plot with a hint of dark past for the girl.
The H tried to do the right thing but it was done deal as their chemistry was a fire sizzling chemistry!!!
A 4 star forbidden contemporary romance.
This is the 3rd book in the Kingston brothers series. It is a student teacher romance. the story will draw you in and keep you turning pages

This is an amazing student teacher romance! I love the characters and the storyline. I was so captivated I couldn’t put it down. Elijah is a college professor. He has three brothers and lives in Ohio. Nova is a college student. She has one sister and lives in Florida. This story had all the feels. I fell in love with these characters quickly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! A story you don’t want to miss reading.
Elijah Kingston stole my heart and became my new favorite Kingston brother.
Nova and Elijah had an intense chemistry that they couldn’t ignore and every moment they tried their chemistry just seemed to grow.
I loved that they could go from dirty talk which Elijah seemed to have a Master’s Degree in then they effortlessly switched the conversation to getting to know each other. These 2 fit together seamlessly and it showed on every page.
I recieved an ARC of this on behalf of the author and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.
Wow. For a first book by this author, I don’t think I could have picked better.
This hit a lot of my bookish buzzwords; Forbidden romance, age gap, student/teacher. The writing was beautiful and kept me hooked just as much as the characters did. The attraction between Elijah and Nova sizzled off the page and I really enjoyed this from start to finish
This author is definitely on my binge list.
