Reese BlackwoodI’m called America’s sweetheart. They say I have the voice of an angel.I almost gave all that up, thanks to a traumatic experience at the start of my career. Instead of letting it define me, I chose to rise above. I showed everyone what a woman on a mission could accomplish, and now I’m living my dream. After one chance meeting, my entire world changes. Austin is every woman’s … Austin is every woman’s fantasy, and he wants me. While the attraction is there for me as well, I don’t need any distractions right now.
Austin Jones
Focused.
Driven.
I’m the man I am today because I never let the idea of settling down disrupt being the best I can during my hockey career.
But then Reese floats into my life and everything changes, and now all I want to do is pin her against the boards.
They say opposites attract. You can’t get more opposite than Country Music’s hottest female singer and a hockey player from Canada. With competing travel schedules, our instant attraction appears to be doomed from the start. Can it really be love? Or is it just a hot ice-melting fling?

A very well written and enjoyable story. The storyline was very enjoyable and kept my interest throughout. The characters were very likeable and easy to read about. A great addition to the series.
This book was so exciting! A country music star and a hockey player!?! Talk about a power couple! But really, this book was fun, and I think probably one of my favorite sport romances so far this year!
Reese is a country music singer, in the midst of her first world tour. Her professional star is rising, but she has pushed aside any hopes for a personal relationship. Until she meets Austin, a hockey player with the Indianapolis Eagles. There is an immediate connection, but with her tour schedule, and his game travels, they have very little time to spend together. Not letting that keep them apart, they use technology to get to know one another.
I love sports romance, hockey in particular, and I’ve adored all of the Indianapolis Eagles books. This one was just as fabulous, if not more so, as the rest of the series. While there was plenty of time spent with the team, this book was focused more so on how they managed to build a relationship despite distance, lack of time together, and the stress of two very busy careers. Reese and Austin are a sweet couple that tug at the heart strings and are sure to become a favorite of readers!
Reese and Austin make for an absolute perfect love affair. The sparks fly between them from the beginning and quickly ignite into flames of love.
I love this series. I have never really had an interest in hockey but Samantha has made this so interesting that I may actually watch some games on tv.
Reese has such a big heart and when it comes to her fans she is awesome. Her Nana is a whoot and adds to the fun in this book.
Austin is an all out good guy and loves Reese without question.
I loved the proposal which I got a sneaky feeling earlier in the book that would happen the way it did. That was so exciting.
She’s a famous country star.
He’s all about hockey.
Reese has a world tour she’s headlining.
Traveling from city to city.
Austin needs to focus on hockey, not the girl.
They are both twenty five and dealing with fame and trying to make their connection work.

Such a feel-good story. I was smiling most of the time because of the way Reese and Austin worked through their issues and not even long distance could keep them apart nor dim their fire for each other. Love the country music aspect with Reese and her also needing to grow from her past.
Against the Boards by Samantha Lind is a fantastic book! I am enjoying reading the Indianapolis Eagles series! This is the 5th book in this series. Make sure you read the previous four books in this series before reading Against the Boards.
Against the Boards by Samantha Lind tells the romance of popular Country Singer Reese Blackwood and Austin Jones who plays for the Indianapolis Eagles. The pair meets backstage of Reese’s concert and the sparks fly between the pair. Reese and Austin are so attracted to each other. Since meeting each other Reese and Austin have been texting and calling each other getting to know one another. SUPER CUTE READ!!!
Austin and Reese are so adorable together. They show us how to navigate a long distance relationship and make it work.
Of course they had some super sexy times together as well to make the story come full circle.
Samantha Lind also broached sensitive subject that we have been seeing more and more in the news. I thought it was a good idea on her part and it gave the plot a little more substance.
Super easy read. If you are a hockey, you will love it!
Can’t wait for more! 🙂
This wasn’t a bad book persay, but it did miss the mark for me. I felt that the author had a great premise but did not follow through. The characters were okay and I am interested in seeing what else the author writes. Her writing style is good.

The fifth book in the Indianapolis Eagles Series a well written story with the hockey and music being delivered in a believable way. Reese Blackwood is called America’s sweetheart because of her singing voice meets Austin Jones a very good hockey player for the Eagles. They have a lot to go through before they can be together, especially Reese and the court case against her manager. I want to read the next book. This is the 1st book I’ve read written Samantha Lind; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This was a sweet read. It shows the progress of Reese and Austin’s relationship. Not much struggles or heavy angst.
Reece and Austin met by chance, fate bringing the two of them together. Seeing something special, they both go all in, knowing that they will spend a good bit of time apart because of their careers. Can a chart-topping country singer on tour and a NHL player make this work?
This is my first book in the Indianapolis Eagles series. I can honestly say you can pick up any one of the books in this series and it will completely stand alone. Ms Lind is able to keep secondary characters under control, so to speak, and maintain the focus on her two main characters. Reece and Austin are great characters, they are adults and act like them. They handle their long separations with grace and humor and caring. I had a lot of fun watching these two fall in love and get their happy ever after. I will definitely be picking up the other books in the series!
Reese is a country music star with her career just taking off she doesn’t need any distractions such as Austin who plays on the hockey team. Austin is enjoys playing on his hockey team and doesn’t do relationships but with Reese he just may give it a try. Enjoyed reading this sweet but hot romance and loved the characters.

This book was an easy book to enjoy. It was such a sweet story. This is about a girl, Reese who is a rising country music star with an amazing voice however, she has been burned by the male gender in the past and has vowed no more men in her life, just focus on music. Austin on the other hand, he is professional hockey player with a beyond busy schedule and a no need to settle down attitude. When these two cross paths they develop a friendship that works for both of them. Little by little though that friendship begins to grow into more. This is a sweet story of how these two people can let go of their pasts and more forward into the future with one another.

I absolutely love this series and by far, this story is my favorite. Reese and Austin are a great couple!! Even though they are apart a lot of the time due their demanding careers, they absolutely make it work. These two are super sexy together and they prove that absence does make the heart grow fonder. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.
Love Reese and Austin’s book. It was a beautiful and sweet book.
Reese has trust issues after a traumatic experience in her past. Love how patience Austin was with Reece.
Love the storyline and this series is getting better and better.

Samantha Lind has written yet another amazing book! Against the Boards is standalone and is installment five in the Indianapolis Eagles series. If you love fluffy romance, this is your type of book. I promise.
In Against the Boards we meet Reese and Austin. Reese is a country music megastar and Austin is a star hockey player for the Eagles. Reese is not looking for a relationship when she meets Austin and vice versa but they just cannot keep their minds off one another. With their demanding careers, can they be in a relationship??
Best. Book. Ever!. I gobble up books that have no drama and are just huge balls of fluff. My heart did hurt for Reese when I learned her past and what she went through to get to where she is now. I laughed, cried, swooned, you name it.
This author loves hockey. She has more details about the game than any writer I’ve come across. I have to admit I love when an author loves what they write about because the real ness come through crystal clear.
She also delves into the players minds and gives us a look into both rookie and seasoned players minds and how they view things. How they mature in their outlooks. What I really appreciate is she is truthful she doesn’t hurl bull about how players can be. She’s real.
The language she uses is authentic. It’s the way I imagine actual conversations to go.
I think this is her best book to date. Her stories are never off the charts unbelievable. However, this time I think she outdid herself. She lets us see into the world of celebrity dating and how hard it is and what it takes to make it work. I will say I fell in love with Austin and Reese.
They were so normal and not hype about themselves.
The writing of her romantic moments has become much deeper and much more intense. You can actually feel the intensity. In a world full of romance books that is quite the accomplishment when you don’t take these moments for granted. I’m actually writing this while I’m still reading the book. I don’t want to lose my train of thought.
The secondary characters in this story are so interesting especially Grandmom. I can literally visualize her in my mind. We all have that relative. Thank god, they make life so interesting.
She also included real causes that hit us hard today and showed that there are several ways to interpret what is happening around us.
To say I liked this book would be a disservice to the author. I loved this book. I read this in one sitting. Within this story you get laughs, smiles, romance, love and she brings the heat both on and off the ice.
This story is a quick read as fast as the ice the players were skating on because you won’t want to put it down. I actually could’ve continued reading about their lives. I didn’t want to see it end. That is the type of book you want to read.
I’m a huge fan of this series. These books always leave me in a good mood. This book is very romantic to me. My heart was happy sighing all the way through. I loved how Austin was there for Reese. Those two fit perfectly together and had great chemistry. It’s not going to be easy for them with their schedules keeping them apart. I loved we got to see characters from previous books enjoying their HEAs. It always makes me happy.
