Cammie Laroux is back in Alabama—again.
Dragged back to her small town to help her mother recover from surgery while rescuing the family event planning business should be a cinch. Even for a disgraced television chef, right? Wrong.
Among the many secrets Cammie’s family’s been hiding is the fact that their historic home is falling down. Oh, and the man hired to restore the house, Grey Harrison, … house, Grey Harrison, is the same high school and college love of her life who thrashed her heart and dreams ten years ago. Yeah, that guy.
Grey, a widower with a young daughter, has never stopped loving Cammie, and when they are face to face once again, the chemistry is off the charts. Cammie may be in full-blown denial, but letting go is no longer in Grey’s vocabulary, even when winning Cammie’s forgiveness and renovating their love may seem like an impossible build even for a master architect and carpenter.
As Cammie finds herself forgetting all the reasons she can’t trust Grey or love again, he finds himself remembering all the reasons he wants her to stay with him in Alabama… forever.

Truly enjoyed this book hated for it to end…. can’t wait to read more of her books
I enjoyed this book a lot. It’s a sweet story of young love gone wrong, forgiveness, & 2nd chances to love again. Also, the family dynamics were fun, nosy, interfering, in short, like most families!
Loved this story. A must read
Best book I’ve read all summer!
This book was long and sort of tedious. I liked the story but felt like there were a lot of extraneous details that detracted from it. Also, I got frustrated with the seemingly lack of editing throughout the story. Some sentences appeared to be parts of re-worded sentences and that was distracting to have to re-read those sentences a couple of times to understand the meaning. It’s too bad, because I liked the characters and the story.
Good story line, but some of it is too much to believe. Overall the outcome is predictable, but the twists and turns along the way are quite enjoyable and keep you wanting to read more of the book. I enjoyed this book, but once in a while I found my self thinking “really”?
I absolutely Loved this book! Plan to read the series! You will get caught up in the family.
The book begins with the chef returning to her home town and encountering her widowed ex boyfriend outside her window while she stand there in her undies! There are some strange twists but it is overall a good read.
Deleted after reading only a few pages due to bad language/cursing.
Chapters you would like to follow
I always love to read books that are related to my home state, Alabama. The characters were charming and the settings, moods and drawls were pure Southern enjoyment. The plot kept you wondering “What next? Bless her heart.”
Loved it! Very enjoyable. Read all the way through, only stopping to eat, lol
Good book, although I can never get behind a book that is trying to get the main character to forgive a cheater. I know he was drunk and taken advantage of, etc, but his character eas weak. So it was “Ok.” Also, the heroine forgave the cheating and adopted his daughter way too quickly for my taste . And the mother’s secret comes out at the end. Too many lies all around,I won’t be reading anymore from this author.
Hated the death in this book. crappy ending.
I loved this book – great characters and good solid plot. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
I enjoyed this authors three book series. This was my favorite. A romance, but also a little mystery and action.
An easy read
Loved it
The story was good but the author seemed to jump around and it was hard to keep track at times.
Writer was easy to follow – the characters were more interesting than the norm. It was a well written book! Enjoyed the plot and the characters! I foundi t hard to put down, and have only a chapter of two left and can’t want to finish it!!
