Afterlife is an opulent Gothic nightclub that belongs in a big city, not in the small town of Evergreen Falls…Just like its forbidding owner does, Dominic Draven.Keira is a shy girl running from a horrific past, a girl who belongs in the shadows of a small town, a place where she can start a new life. However, this new life she craves so badly isn’t the one she is expecting. Not after Draven gets … Draven gets one look at her and quickly decides her fate.
But which fate will Keira choose, a willing slave to the darkness inside him or a prisoner in his arms for all eternity?
After all, Dominic Draven, isn’t what he seems and Afterlife isn’t just a nightclub…No, for Draven, it’s a castle he rules from.
Warning: This book is amazingly addictive, with its dark mystery, haunting horror, seductive twists and one sexy dark lord that has the reader drooling every time the name Draven appears on the page!

This series has it all! Great love story, unparalelled storyline bringing past and present together in a way so unpredictable and wonderful you cannot tell what is coming next. Characters are so appealing and sexy with just the right amount of angst thrown in. This is one of those stories you wish would never end.
I fell in love with this world with this book. The very 1st line is etched into my soul and inked on my arm. P.S. Sigurd is mine. I will fight you.
There are so many things I could say about this book. Talk about a page turner! First, the cover hooked me right away and although it was free on Amazon Prime, I purchased it to support the author. Second, generally I hate books that end with a cliffhanger but when the author takes the time to warn you that this is a 12 book series, I can only send her major kudos. Third, any author who can hook me so throughly into the incredible world building she has done that I found myself still reading at 4 a.m. has done her job. Honestly, I put my Kindle down several times but the story kept invading my head. By 8:30 this morning I couldn’t take it any longer and finally finished this book. It was packed full of action and everything else that went into the developing relationship of Keira and Draven (and other wonderfully developed secondary characters). I’m not one to give spoilers but let me just reiterate that this was such a fascinating book with characters so vivid they just jumped off the page. So, yes… I’m hooked and was thankful for the boxsets that Ms. Hudson put together (I bought the first set even though I already had Afterlife). I can highly recommend this fabulous tale that takes the reader to a place of your wildest imagination. Well done, Ms. Hudson. Well done!
OK, first off, these books are WAY too long and filled with excessive detail about the setting, descriptions, etc. Like pages will describe a dress or room. It takes away from the main plot.
Secondly, I enjoyed Dominic Draven and the world, and the main character eventually grew on me. I was engaged in the story and wanting to know what’s going to happen.
The narrator is fine, until she tries dramatizing a scene. Then it’s extremely overdone and kind of embarrassing.
My only other issue is that our main character supposedly doesn’t like drawing attention to herself, but she gets in a lot of trouble making herself VERY visible by crying out LOUDLY and in hysteria when she knows she should be quiet and NOT draw attention to herself. As someone who hates attention of that sort, her first reaction shouldn’t be screaming on horror in the middle of a crowded room. Gasping, yes. Screaming when someone jumps out in front of you in demon form, OK. But she’s VERY dramatic for someone not wanting attention. MY first reaction to things isn’t yelling or screaming unless I’m startled when already scared and it’s more of a squeak or squeal. When something is going on in a public place, I’d gasp, whisper, go pale, grip my hands or shirt, feel faint, etc.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. Very entertaining.
This one is to wordy for me. It starts out super slow. When events start to unfold, they get bogged down in a bunch of other stuff. I liked the idea of what the Dravens are, but this could be trimmed down A LOT and have the same information.
This book has a different twist to it that I couldn’t put down. We’re talking Angels, Demons, and Vampires. I’m currently reading book 2 on my kindle app, but I enjoyed book one so much that I also ordered the first 2 in paperback. I know I’m going to have to have the whole series for my collection. You can’t go wrong with this author. I find myself binge reading! Staying up all night to see what happens next. A really great read!
I LISTENED TO THIS ON AUDIO, ALTHOUGH 26 HOURS LONG THE STORYLINE GOT ME SUCKED IN FROM THE BEGINNING. I ENJOYED THE WRITING STYLE, THE DESCRIPTIONS WERE REALLY DETAILED AND LOVED THE GOTHIC TONES. TRULY ENJOYED.
This series would have to be one of my all time favorites.
I really enjoyed the whole saga. This is definitely a must read. I reread these books often. Very well written.
