Only one thing has not gone according to Kyle Ames’s grand life plan.Hannah McIntire. She was his first love, the woman he planned to marry, the one that got away—all that romantic crap. And now, two years after breaking his heart, she’s back in town. It’s only for six weeks. Surely Hannah can survive living in her hometown and helping her grandmother for six short weeks. If she doesn’t leave the … short weeks.
If she doesn’t leave the house more than necessary.
And puts on a show of being the same girl everyone remembers.
And absolutely avoids Kyle Ames. The guy she never got over.
That plan lasts all of a day, of course. And then things get worse—way worse.

I read this entire series of Sapphire Falls and I enjoyed them all but Kyle and Hannah’s story to me should’ve have been different especially since she had neck problems and was a rehabited drug user plus her mother was holding on to the Pt clinic for Hannah who was unable to do the work. I would’ve liked to have seen Kyle married and divorced with a child when Hannah came back into the picture I don’t know about neck problems but maybe she wouldn’t have been able to get pregnant. And the clinic still needed a therapist
I just love this amazing series by Erin Nicholas. Every time I read a new book in the series, I fall in love with this little town better known as Sapphire Falls. I highly recommend this book.
Favorite Quotes:
But without a stern pep talk before you step out the door, you’ll end up making one of the Blue Brigade ladies cry or saying something horrible about Dottie’s potpies or admitting that you know nothing about football and you’ll end up with a fork in your forehead.
…he listened to Elvis when he wrote his creepy, gory novels and ate oranges like he was trying to ward off scurvy. Not that she had anything against Elvis or oranges. Actually, she thought it was kind of sacrilegious to kill people off while listening to the King. Kade said that all that optimism and cheese and happiness in the songs made him homicidal.
Kyle was organized and scheduled and routine-oriented and… rigid. And that a lot of his social time was spent with people twenty to fifty years older than him, often involved manual labor, and seemed to be a perfect way for him to avoid socializing more.
I don’t care about matching bras and panties, Hannah… Doesn’t matter if they match once they’re on the floor…
My Review:
I am seriously behind as this is book number eight in the series and my first time reading a Sapphire Fall novel. What is wrong with me? Erin Nicholas is a recent discovery for me as well, but I plan to make up for lost time and pick up her books whenever I can. I enjoy the small town community that she has created as well as her uniquely quirky and recognizable characters. I did not fully appreciate Hannah at first, but I had complete empathy and understanding of her past behavior by the conclusion. Written from a dual POV, the storyline was busy and well balanced with humor, inner musings and insights, angst, bawdy talk, and a few bits of scalding hot steam. I will be looking forward to more trips to the quaint and peaceful Sapphire Falls.
Another sigh worthy read by Erin Nicholas. This second chance love story was so great. I loved how there was so much growth and self realizations between Kyle and Hannah and within themselves as well. Watching their love renew was absolutely amazing and sexy as hell. I so love this Sapphire Falls series. Derek’s story is next, which I can’t wait for, but I’m also hoping that Kade will get a story written too. He’d make a great hero.
Kyle Ames is the only doctor in Sapphire Falls. He grew up there, went to college & moved back home to practice – all according to his plan. Only 1 thing went wrong. Hannah McIntire was supposed to have moved home, set up a PT shop & married him. Instead she stayed in Seattle & didn’t set foot in Sapphire Falls until now. What changed? Why didn’t she follow through on their plans?
Hannah is dreading coming back to Sapphire Falls but her grandmother needs her. She’s to have her hip replaced & is depending on Hannah to help her recover. Hannah doesn’t want to see that Kyle has moved on. Or has he? Why doesn’t the town have a physical therapist?
I loved this relationship. The best laid plans & all … Kyle & Hannah were both caretakers growing up. They took care of the entire town. Their characters were well developed & it seems like Kyle is stuck in a rut while Hannah has moved on. The supporting characters & their maneuvering makes for some funny moments. I love the character of Kade! A writer who twists things to fit his book & then falls in love with Sapphire Falls. This is another great book about the fictional town in Nebraska & its lovable inhabitants! I can’t wait for the next visit!
I would love to live in Sapphire Falls. It is one of those towns (made up, of course) that seems so real one wishes it could be true. It has the ole town country feel with the city needs. Erin Nicholas writes this series with such detail one can see the town in all it’s amazing glory.
This book we finally get to see Kyle Ames in depth and explore the ins and outs of his relationship with high school sweetheart Hannah McIntire. Hannah, Hannah, Hannah. Just her name alone is a sentence in this book. She is an amazing person. I personally can relate her to on so many levels. I felt like the author knew some of my life and wrote it into Hannah’s storyline.
I always wanted to live in an ole country town and by reading this book and experiencing this story I feel like I did live in Sapphire Falls…at least for the time I was reading this book.
It was also nice to catch up with past friends from other Sapphire Falls books. You do not have to read other books in this series but let me say if you do you will greatly love this book so much more!
Another amazing trip to Sapphire Falls as we get a look at Hannah McIntire and Kyle Ames. Once thought to be the town power couple! Somewhere along the line things fell apart and Kyle’s carefully constructed plan blew up spectacularly. He may have returned to Sapphire Falls after college to become the town’s beloved Doc but Hannah chose to stay away without much of an explanation. Now she’s back to help her Grandma recuperate and Kyle has a new plan. This time he’d be sure to keep his heart out of it. Well – that was the plan anyway!
Don’t miss this great addition to the series! If you haven’t started it yet, don’t worry, each book is easily read standalone. Just don’t miss out on all the goodness of Sapphire falls! I highly recommend it
