Gorgeous. Sweet. Funny. He made me feel things that I’ve never felt before. In just one short week over Spring Break, I began to fall in love. That is until it all fell apart. Now, here I am, three years later and I’ve moved on, at least that’s what I told myself until he came crashing back into my life. Things have changed. I’ve changed, and there’s something he doesn’t know. He wants me to give … me to give us another chance. I try to fight it, but it’s not long before all of those same old feelings come rushing back. I know he feels it too. I can see it every time he looks at me. I can feel it every time he touches me.
It feels like I’m missing something though, like there’s something that he’s not telling me. Something that has the potential to tear it all apart. After all, it’s not easy when you fall in love with your best friends’ father. I didn’t stand a chance after we met.

This book will take you you on a journey full of twists, turns, moments that will have you screaming at your kindle, and at the end leave you wanting you to read it all over again. Good story with characters that you both hate and love, older man younger woman.
I enjoyed reading this second Chance romance. Though I have to say I didn’t particular love what Damon did to lani, I’m happy that she got her HEA.
WOW!!!!!
Damon and Lani’s story was SO. GOOD!!!!
I honestly don’t know where to start. This book really had me all over the place. I was angry at Molly and Damon, felt terrible for Lani loved Lisa. Tony had me thinking a lot cause of some of his REALLY bad and then great choices.
But Sophie? That little girl mad that emotional ride worth EVERYTHING!!!!
I loved Lani and Damon. I first read a part of their story in an anthology and was very happy to get part 2 of their story. The chemistry was off the charts and although there’s a little drama it’s not over the top. This was a great age-gap read.
Thank you for your review.
This book was a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Damon and lani met via his daughter, which is Lani’s best friend.
After Lani’s friend finds out that she is sleeping with her father, Damon sends her packing and she also loses her best friend.
Lani became pregnant with his daughter and he would not return her phone calls so she gave up.
After a chance meeting at a school function, Damon becomes involved in his child’s life. But it turns out, Damon has a big secret.
I thought After We met was a good story it was one of those stories that drew me in this would be one the many stories I read by Evan Grace and I can’t wait to read more . But at times it did bug me with how characters reacted to certain situations to we were I was pretty annoyed . Usually I’m not a fan of friends hot dad kinda love story but this was good . It did take me some time to connect to the hero like I understand why he handled things the way he did but still a bit irritating . I liked the ending how everyone found a happy ever after and I hope to see more from these characters in the future .
This was another solid offering from this author! I really enjoyed the story. Lani and her friend Molly visit Molly’s father Damon for spring break. Lani and Damon start a relationship but when Molly finds out about it, she is less than accepting of them. Lani is forced to leave and Damon ghosts her. A few years later, they see each other again with both having secrets. My only complaint is that I wish Lani would have more backbone. She was a little too forgiving considering the circumstances.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
4 Stars
This book definitely is a rollercoaster of feelings, and I will admit I’ve had some very mixed emotions about it. Going on vacation with her best friend Molly, the last thing Lani expected was to fall for her dad. I feel Molly’s reaction was definitely appropriate, but I was not happy at all with Damon’s. Fast forward three years later, and I absolutely fell in love with Sophie. And who knew Molly would end up being Lani’s biggest supporter? In the end, I feel Damon for the most part, redeemed himself. Although I still wanted to throat punch him a time or ten lol. Overall, I really enjoyed After We Met. Evan Grace was able to bring out several emotions in me while reading this story, and that makes for a good story in my book.

Who knew that angry, nasty, immature Molly would end up becoming Lani’s biggest ally and defender once push came to shove? Not me, that’s for sure! After all, she was so nasty in the beginning, but she proved that the pain of knowing that she tossed her best friend out on her ear makes for an interesting turnabout in her attitude.
Lani has raised her daughter, Sophie, on her own without Damon because he couldn’t be bothered responding to her pleas for a chance to talk years ago. Imagine both Lani’s and Damon’s shock at seeing each other again in a not-really-chance meeting, courtesy of pre-nice-girl Molly. Lani’s shock is more painful, knowing that Damon so easily moved on and lived his best life (as evidenced by his girlfriend being with him), while Damon’s entire world is rocked upon seeing his daughter. The daughter he never knew about.
Lani and Damon manage to spend time together and find their way back to each other and all looks good on the horizon…and then Damon’s duplicity comes to light. Heartbroken by his lie, Lani and Sophie head back to their own life, with Molly the savior at the helm to guide them back to safety and the loving home they know.
Damon needs to fix his mess and re-earn the trust of the three most important people in his world, but first he needs to get himself together to figure out his plan of action. And once he maps it out, his plan is a darn good one. He, Lani, Sophie, Molly, and all of the important people in their lives manage to find their way to true happiness, but the road to get there is full of bumps and roadblocks and potholes, mainly of Damon’s own stubborn making. But it sure makes for an angsty, grabs-you-and-won’t-let-go read!
Okay here I go….I strongly dislike Damon!!! There I said it. This man made 18 year old immature boy’s decisions look smarter. Really, at one point I wanted to throw my kindle AND throat punch the guy…….and that is why this is getting 5 stars for me.
I loved Lani and how she was doing the best that she could with the hand she’d been dealt. After the way her supposed best friend and Damon treated her she could have been mad at the world and made different choices than she did. Her mom Lisa was always in her corner and I loved the relationship they had. BTW I think Lisa’s story deserves a novella at least. The biggest surprise for me (and another reason the author deserves 5 stars) is the way she changed my opinion about a character. I ended up loving the one I expected to hate and hating the one I usually love!
This author gave me another great read.
I been waiting to finish reading this book since I first read NO LIMITS and to be honest I really hated how it ended and to be honest I just hated how the h treated h and how the h was so weak and keep giving into the h at every time the h wrong her so I kind of hated it and liked it

A good quick read
Evan Grace is an author whose books I love and would always guarantee as great reads. This is the first time, however, that one of her books has left me less than fulfilled. The blurb hadn’t given away too much of the trope type, so when I got started, I was surprised and had looked forward to getting into the story. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good read, it’s just that I have enjoyed other books from her far more.
I couldn’t at all connect with the characters, especially Lani’s friend Molly and the ‘hero’, Damon. There was nothing to recommend him at all except for the hot physical description of him from Lani when she first laid eyes on him. He didn’t keep his word and in my mind, took the easy way out. Secret indeed; the man broke his promise. As for Molly, she was a total hypocrite.
I admired Lani for her strength and determination and she did everything to put her daughter first, even if that meant that in my opinion, she capitulated and forgave some pretty significant betrayals fairly easily. Wee Sophie is just such a gorgeous little sweetheart, that she easily broke the ice and melted hearts.
I know there are many readers who loved this book, so if you love reading about second chances, single parents and beautiful surprise babies, then check out their reviews and make up your own mind. 3.5 Stars.
Emotional. Bad decisions. Sweet characters. Love that can endure anything and anyone. This books has all these themes. It is an age gap romance that freaking shook me to the core.
I absolutely loved this book. It is full of so much emotion, angst and overall steaminess. The author hit a major home run with this age gap book. She has included all the parts of a romance you love and adore. To fall in love is hard enough, but to fall in love with your best friends dad – cue the suspenseful music. It is an epic story full of lots of twists, turns and moments when you want to get emotional.
Sophie truly stole my heart – she will steal yours too. The theme of family is a little flutter due to the circumstances, but as the story progresses family becomes so important and takes quite a twist. This tale of forbidden romance will blow your heart or pieces and put them all back together by the end of the book. An epic story you will fall in love with!!
Lani and Damon I swear I am such a sucker for this kind of male character. He is strong and alpha. Totally forbidden but so hot and worth the risk. Lani has endured so much from one point to another. She has become a strong woman who will protect. Together, they are amazing. It takes a while to get there as they navigate the twists and turns, but it is worth it!!
