Praise for AFTER THE FIRE:
“This powerful, emotionally realistic book is the first of Shay’s new series about the men and women who put their lives on the line every day and how that dedication and commitment affect all those around them. Poignant and compelling, this novel reinforces Shay’s well-earned reputation as a first-rate storyteller.” Shelley Mosley, American Library Association.

Enjoyed learning about the pressures on fire fighters and there families. I lived this life but was unaware of what my Dad must have faced. Lovely characters.
This is actually 3 love stories. So, each story takes some time to initially build. However, each is a great story and well worth the read.
Best book I’ve read in awhile.
Family
This is a wonderful story about a family of firefighters & non firefighters and their struggles with family, love, children, and the emotional turmoil of working such a hard job.
Shay books are always great!
For me there were too many tangled relationships. I was sad when I finished the book. It was well written and informative but still….
This reveals the tug-of-war first responders and their families share with their jobs. Even more revealing after 9-11.
Great book with a lot of back stories. I enjoyed it immensely.
New take and moving story
A new spin on CR which was refreshing. Three main firefighters in book are brothers and a sister, all of whom are/have been married previously and are still open to possibilities. I enjoyed moving on in their lives with them and appreciated that not all romances had to be the fresh uninitiated variety.
Fantastic book, enjoyed every page!
Love anything by Katherine Shay
I loved everything about this book!
