I was settin’ up to live a good life, the kinda life I’d fought hard to deserve.
With a good woman––the best woman––at my side, a degree under my belt, and the whole world at my feet, I was livin’ the kinda happily ever after usually denied the rebellious and the criminal. I’d turned my back on that kinda life, thinkin’ I needed that clean, wholesome kinda happy.
Then the devil came dressed in … the wings of an angel and took someone from me.
And I realized I was wrong.
There was no clean and wholesome for a man like me with poetry in his heart and outlaw in his blood. The life I’d been livin’ was only purgatory, holding me over until the time came for me to descend into Hell and pick up the tarnished crown that awaited me.
I was condemning my woman to a life of violence, blood, and heartache, but I had to hope she’d step up and finally be the rough and tumble queen to my Fallen MC king.
After the Fall can be read as a stand-alone romance, but you first meet the couple in Lessons in Corruption (The Fallen Men, #1)
more
I cannot begin to describe all the ways that Giana is going to torture your psyche whilst reading this book.
You have no idea the emotions she will make your heart endure.
You can only hope to have the loyalty of a family like the Fallen MC.
You have no concept how deep the love is a King has for his Queen.
You have no idea how far you can push a Queen before she breaks.
“There’s no end to my love for you. It’s woven into the very fabric of my soul so even when our bodies die, we’ll never stop lovin’.”
I didn’t think King and Cress you could steal my heart anymore than they had previously done but Giana gave my poet King and his enternal love Cress an amazing second book bravo Giana it was outstandng.
After the Fall by Giana Darling is the fourth book in the ‘Fallen Men series’. The book focuses on the story of Cressida Irons and King Kyle Garro (who you would have met in book 1) and shows how their relationship has progressed in the past four years since we last met them. Although they have both gotten a little bit older, they are still in love, still have plans and still have some sass and attitude until trouble comes knocking for them.
Everything seems right with both King and Cress. Cress now owns her dream book shop and things are looking right for the romantic prospect that we know as King, although he does seem frustrated that he is still a prospect and doesn’t seem to be moving forward with the club. That all comes to a head when the club and it’s members start to be targeted by the local ‘dirty’ police and corrupt Mayor in Entrance. Even though things had started to look up, it seemed like it was the calm before the storm.
This book is a page turner… not only do we see King and Cress, but the rest of the gang are here and as things start happening to them, you can feel yourself getting angry on their behalf! The things that this MC endure are just terrible and there are some really heart-breaking moments in the book (no more details as it will spoil it).
The banter and sexy scenes between Cress and King are as dirty as ever and you know that they just click. There is a side story that focuses on them getting married and it’s such a great moment, it fits beautifully in with the book.
This is a must read story which is full of heartbreak, love, family and the lengths people will go to too protect their own. Gina darling has done it again in this superb book….well done!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

Wow.
That’s all i can say for how this book had me emotion wise. I had seen others reactions. And kind of brushed it off and was like nah ill be fine. Nope..
NOT AT ALL FINE. i had big fat tears rolling down my face as i sobbed quietly so as i didnt wake the kids or husband. Like damn.
I loved diving back into the Fallen world. Always have.. Zeus, King, Nova, Cress, and Lou along with H.R. and Danner. And the rest of the many other Fallen.. i loved the way this book was laid out if you’ve the previous books in the series then this one you can piece together where the storylines are matching and bleeding together to give you a whole other point of view which i loved. It was like reading a particular scene from brand new eyes.
There were a few times where this book just killed me. Like knife to the chest. Didn’t want to believe it was really what i had read but all in all. It worked perfectly and loved how the book ended. Not cool with how my emotions got played but…. it was what it was.
Now im so read to see who’s story with be book 5.
I don’t even know where to start.
King. F-ing. GARRO!!!
Cress Irons
Daddy Z… Lou… HR…. Lion… Wrath. I mean. Come on.
All star lineup & the best crew, The Fallen.
Whenever I read a phenomenal book 2 lines from movies run through my mind…
1) the world will break your heart ten ways to Sunday. I can guarantee that… (Silver Linings Playbook)
2) it’s always darkest before the dawn. (Dark Knight)
These lines wholeheartedly sum up this book.
I have adored all the Fallen stories. I especially loved this one. Make no mistake. It’s not your classic fairy tale.
Read it anyway.
Hot men
Chic heroes
Smoking hotness

50% in and LOVING IT!!!
”Four years after that fateful day in a grocery store parking lot and I still felt electrified with my love for that woman.”
My review is spoiler-free, but if you’re someone who goes hunting for spoilers in reviews, I promise it’s SO SO SO worth it to go in blind.
I don’t know how Giana Darling manages to piece together a beautiful, inspiring, heart-wrenching story time after time while somehow piercing together parts of me that I didn’t know were loose.
If you thought Lessons in Corruption felt complete like I did, you’re in for the biggest, most exhilarating and unexpected treat. King and Cress have much more to them than you could ever see coming.
King and Cressida’s story is the epitome of true romance. There is beauty and grit, loveliness and despair, growth and rebirths. This MC universe is as much of a brotherhood as it is a sisterhood—for the women as equally as captivating and powerful as the men.
I’ve never gotten chills while writing a review, but I have them now—had them all throughout the book as well. Go in with an open mind. A story worth reading every word, Giana’s expressive storytelling ability never fails to amaze.
5 FALLEN STARS
Giana Darling just gave us a beautifully written, extremely emotional, and action packed story with After The Fall. But, that’s what this author does. She gives us books that makes us feel the full range of our emotions and leaves us with a storyline and characters that are extremely memorable.
King Kyle Garro and Cressida Irons have a love that is so unique and beautiful it absolutely resonates with me and makes me believe in true love and fate.
In this book we see their love as it has evolved since Lessons In Corruption. It has matured and nurtured them into who they are today. They are the teacher and the poet, the King and his Queenie, a dreamer and an iron will, and together their love knows no bounds.
“There’s no end to my love for you. It’s woven into the very fabric of my soul so even when our bodies die, we’ll still never stop lovin’.”
The lives of the Fallen Men are put to the test in this book. This group will have to struggle and fight to keep their lives and their way of living safe. The ultimate test will lay before them as a group and as individuals, and I can guarantee you will be gasping for breaths when reading through these pages.
Thank you Gina for bringing the spotlight back on one of my favourite couples. I loved seeing the evolution of King and Cress. Theirs is a love that I truly feel deep down.
Congratulations on another brilliantly written book.
P.S. You almost gave me a bloody heart attack with this one! Seriously!!
We’re back with the men and women of The Fallen MC. It’s always nice to be there. And while I think King is a sexy beast and Cress is his queen, I’m not really sure I needed more of their story. I was happy with where they were heading at the end of Lessons in Corruption. I enjoyed getting more of them in the subsequent books in the series. I was confident in them as a couple and believed their love to be everlasting. Ms. Darling’s illuminating prose convinced me of that. But it seems that I’m in the minority as to needing more of their story, so good grief don’t pay a
This book is another stunner that will feed your need for all things Fallen or Darling generated. This book was truly an epic journey of raw emotions, intensity, suspense and ever increasing tension. After The Fall brings readers back to King and Cress, who’s story began in Lessons In Corruption. I know it says that you could enjoy this book as a standalone and yeah, you probably could but I recommend that you read these books in order because 1. This is really not just a book. This is a world. A world filled with compelling characters, complex situations and a rich history. I honestly believe that your reading experience and pleasure will be increased by 1000% if you fully immerse yourself in all things Fallen, and 2. Because I can’t even wrap my head around the idea that you wouldn’t want to. Once you get a tempting taste of the hot men of The Fallen and the fierce women that capture their hearts you will be addicted and left constantly craving more. As for this book it was just wonderful. Sweet and steamy, exciting and nerve-wracking, heartbreaking and heart melting. Your emotions will be put through the wringer as you smile and cry and rage and swoon. Prepare yourself to be desperately reading as fast as you can while also dreading reaching the end because you just do not want it to. If you haven’t entered this world you need to right now! and if you are a devotee, it is time to join this beloved brotherhood and family for another ride that will capture another piece of your heart as it slips even further into your soul.
With King’s first attention grabbing line in After the Fall I realized I was in for an emotional filled journey alongside my favorite rebel with a cause and his iron queen. My poor heart however didn’t get the memo and wasn’t prepared for the gamut of emotions the author wrenched from me with King and Cress’ passionate and consuming love.
Coming back to the world of the Fallen men and women was like being welcomed with arms wide open by my dearest family members. From my favorite stoic yet gentle-hearted monster and his spitfire, Foxy to the jovial yet intriguing Nova and every other member of this extended family I loved catching up with them.
Now on to my favorite biker poet. King was everything and yet so much more! Passionate, loving, romantic and unafraid to show what was in his heart he had me falling more than I believed possible for him. Cressida was his perfect match and I loved seeing her hold her own. Strong, fierce and caring Cress was a true queen meant for King. The love these two shared was one that knew no bounds.
Full of action, suspense, and moments that kept me clinging to the edge of my chair After the Fall was an intense, bumpy, and unforgettable ride. That’s without mentioning the emotion filled moments that had me laughing out loud, raging uncontrollably, and trying to see through the tears that ran unchecked down my cheeks at the beautiful poetry of King and Cress’ love. Theirs is a story that as a reader consumed me, moved me and left me desperate for more. I honestly can’t wait to see what’s to come next for the Fallen men and their families.
After the Fall by Giana Darling is book 4 in The Fallen Men Series. This book continues the story of Cressida Irons and King Kyle Garro who we meet in the first book ‘Lessons in Corruption’. This book also catches us up with the other characters in this series. If like me, they are major part of my book world so I was happy to have them back. I thought you could make it a standalone but this series is so good I am not sure why you would, but you could. Since this book is a few years later we see how much King has grown and the true man he has become. I am not sure if I could ever get enough of this author’s writing or this series….I would highly recommend both.
Love is not static, it is an action word. What would you be willing to do for the person or persons you love? I could go on and on about the details of this amazing book. I could use all the descriptive words like:
Emotional
Painful
Loving
Fearful
…… and on and on
But I am not going to.
I want this book to be the words.
I want our Biker Poet to say the words to you fresh.
I want everyone to jump back into the Fallen Men and have the same life altering experience that I had.
“Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”- Rumi
I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
King and Cress are back and both more badass than ever! I loooove King. He is such a perfect combo of biker and sweetness. But Cressida is my girl! I love how she has grown throughout the series.
I enjoyed this book and being back in this world with all of these awesome characters. After the Fall is a great addition to the series. My only complaint… if you even want to call it that… is the warnings. And I get it, Giana wants to warn people so they know to trust her to deliver a HEA. But I’m not that girl. I don’t need the warnings or the guarantee of happily ever after. I felt the warnings took away from the plot twist. But it’s fine, no harm done, and I still loved this book!
I’ve loved all the books in this series so far. Also, if you haven’t read King’s book of poems, King of Iron Hearts, you are really missing out! I highly recommend this whole series. I am now super curious as to which of the Fallen men are coming next!
First of all, have you read King of Iron hearts. No, get on it. This series is everything I love, age gap, opposites attraction, and taboo. Now 23 and prospecting to The Fallen (his birthright) with the encouragement of his rough and tumble queen.
Four years in, King and Cressida are still hot for each other. I swoon over King hard. His loyalty, his poetry and his love for his woman and family. Cressida found herself in this book. Total badass queen fit for her King.
I was put through the wringer with this story, but I trusted Giana.

After the Fall
I’ve been waiting for this story for quite some time. I wanted to see how the Fallen Men would fair after each hardship. King… He could still drop lines like it was hot. Cress was still the woman who baked apple pies along side King and got lost within a good book like Paradise Lost.
I realized while reading King of Iron Hearts, there were hints of what might happen in After the Fall. You just, as a reader, have to read between the lines. The story for me started off slow and then later moved along pretty quickly. I was flipping page after page. There were one or two scene that had hints of foreshadowing. This caused me anxiety because I knew the outcome wasn’t good.
I felt so much by the end of the story. I was a little raw. I was a little cried out. I’m not sure how to take the last few pages of the book. It was kind of bittersweet. I hoped for something more. I felt like I was left hanging.
Giana Darling did a Fantastic job on this story. I could not put this book down. I absolutely LOVE this series. After The Fall was a wonderful addition to the series. The story was written well, the plot was strong, it was filled with so many emotions. It’ll take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I LOVE the Garro family and friends. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them. I want to keep reading more of their lives, and their children, the next generation, hopefully 😉
King and Cress, them two they were soul mates just like Zeus and LouLou and Danner and Harleigh Rose are. Their bond was intense, they were drawn to each other from the moment they had met and their love has just grown stronger. Their journey wasn’t an easy one but they were stronger together than apart. Their love was intense, just like their chemistry which was off the charts. They were perfect together.
This was a wonderful story. It had me all over the place. I would highly recommend reading it and the rest of the series.
Giana Darling is a Fantastic Writer. I can’t wait to see what she has next.
Thank you, Giana Darling. Wonderful work as Always 🙂
5 Stars!
I love Giana Darling! She is an amazing author. If you didn’t read King of Iron Hearts, the book of King’s poetry, read it. It gives you so much insight into his thoughts and the words he speaks are so pure. He worships Cressida. She loves him so much. I love how family for this group is more than blood. Most of them don’t share blood, but it made no difference.
King’s own words to Cress. “Family isn’t in the blood. It’s the echo of each name That sounds with the beat of your heart.”
When the babies were born, I knew what was coming. We meet up where the books merge. So, we knew this. I still cried. I cried the first time I certainly was going to cry again.
King was faced with decisions that he felt he had to make to keep the family and club safe. With Z in prison, he felt the weight of all of it. He stood up to his brothers. All trying to keep everyone safe, and bring Z home.
OH MY GOODNESS this book! It had me holding my breath. It was everything you love about books. It was angsty and romantic. These are the stories we live to love!
There is a lyricism, a beautiful poetry to Giana Darling’s words. When you read her words there’s a mystism to them. You feel like for a brief moment the veil that seperates us from Divine knowledge has been pulled back and you get an incredible glimpse of the heart of humanity. King and Cress’s story is epic but it’s also real, raw, unbelievably relatable. Anyone who as ever lost love, fought for their family and their place in the world will understand their journey. Those of us who have gone out into the world and built our own families will feel this story and the story of the Fallen in their bones. Those who haven’t fallen in love or had their heartbroken will have their eyes widened to the world. They will get a glimpse of the greatness, the overwhelming completeness you find when you find the other half of your soul. This isn’t an easy read, there are bumps, twists, turns, laughter, and tears. You’ll find yourself compulsively reading until the end. When you reach it you won’t want to start another book right away because your soul will still be too saturated in the blood of the Fallen. The words and characters will haunt you. Giana’s words will echo in your mind and find a place in your heart. I already know this will be a book I’ll read over and over again.
An overwhelming 5 stars!
Trigger warning: violence
Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a twisted roller coaster ride. This is book 4 in the Fallen series an we get King and Cressida’s story. Although this book can be read as a standalone, reading the prior books gives you insight into the back story of this MC club.
That said, King and Cressida’s story was exciting, intense and passionate. Told in dual POV, these characters come to life and took me along their emotional ride. We’re back in the world of Fallen, and the MC world impacts their ability to move forward.
Well written, I was swept into their story and how it evolved had me glued to the pages.
There really are no words for the connection you feel from Cress & King their love story is endless. The pull on your heartstrings from the very first page will have you feeling the tears fall from your face at different times during their story and all you can feel is the love, the heartache, all the pieces that comes with them but I know that when I saw the words The End my heart felt happier and knowing that love supersedes everything.
“I was condemning my woman to a life of violence, blood, and heartache, but I had to hope she’d step up and finally be the rough and tumble queen to my Fallen MC king.”
This statement alone killed me! And it was only in the blurb!!! This book was expertly crafted. Absolutely perfect in every way. Reading this had me feeling every possible emotion. Emotional rollercoaster of perfection. King is just……wow. I fell in love. His love was raw and powerful but still kind and generous. King and Cressida were a force to be reckoned with. Their chemistry was absolutely untouchable. Relationship goals of my dreams.
Giana you are a master of your craft!
