I was settin’ up to live a good life, the kinda life I’d fought hard to deserve.
With a good woman––the best woman––at my side, a degree under my belt, and the whole world at my feet, I was livin’ the kinda happily ever after usually denied the rebellious and the criminal. I’d turned my back on that kinda life, thinkin’ I needed that clean, wholesome kinda happy.
Then the devil came dressed in … the wings of an angel and took someone from me.
And I realized I was wrong.
There was no clean and wholesome for a man like me with poetry in his heart and outlaw in his blood. The life I’d been livin’ was only purgatory, holding me over until the time came for me to descend into Hell and pick up the tarnished crown that awaited me.
I was condemning my woman to a life of violence, blood, and heartache, but I had to hope she’d step up and finally be the rough and tumble queen to my Fallen MC king.
After the Fall can be read as a stand-alone romance, but you first meet the couple in Lessons in Corruption (The Fallen Men, #1)

Gritty, raw, and downright dirty, The Fallen Men series from Giana Darling is one of my favorites. After the Fall is a continuation of King’ and Cressida’s story, and it’s everything I hoped it would be and more. Giana Darling takes this couple on an emotional, tear-filled journey and I held on tight for the ride!
Life can be cruel and love can hurt, no matter how much hope King and Cress have…I loved every moment of their heartbreaking tale.
AN ALL NEW FALLEN MEN BOOK FOR OUR MC LOVING HEARTS! Get ready for all the twists and turns in Giana Darling’s latest release!

“I’d found what I loved, and I was only too willin’ to let it kill me.”
I’m speechless. Completely at a loss of words. How can I say something quite reasonable about the book that’s a complete masterpiece? Giana Darling has such a way with words that you devour their beauty and breathe them. Dear lord, the way she described the love between King and Cress made me so emotional that I was constantly clutching at my chest. I was seriously afraid that my heart will burst. After The Fall took me for such a ride that I still can’t get my pulse under control. This book is full of love, passion and loyalty. It’s devotion, adoration and sacrifice beautifully outlined in enchanting words.
King made me fall in love with him even more than before. He’s so affectionate, romantic and passionate. His love is all-consuming and it makes you wish to be on the receiving end of his feelings. He’s also generous, thoughtful and protective. A perfect man made from hopes and dreams.
Cressida gives as good as she gets. She loves just as fierce and yet still challenges King in a way that only she can. She’s strong, intelligent and caring. A true Queen for her King.
They care for each other so hard and they love so deep that just the thought of their connection is touching. They would literally do anything for each other and their loved ones. Their passion has no bounds and nothing can break them apart. King and Cressida are relantionship goals and their love is epic.
I’m so incredibly happy that Giana took me for this journey. I was so glad to be back in the Fallen Men world, to see how everyone is doing. I got the chance to see some of the previous events from new perspectives and was surprised with new twists and turns in King and Cressida’s lives. I was reminded that only Garro can love so beautifully and fierce, that being a part of this family is a blessing like no other. Gahhh, I’m so sad that this is a fictional world, because I’d give up everything to be involved with the Fallen. The bonds that are tying those characters are so strong and exceptional.
This book will rip your heart out of your chest and make you bleed. It’s emotional, thrilling and riveting. But at the same time it’s so wonderful that you’ll smile through the tears. I’m so tremendously happy and thankful that Giana decided to write this story, because it’s definitely something every romance reader needs in her life.
Cress and King are relationship goals! The first half of this book was slow because we were reliving parts of HR’s story just from King and Cress’ POVs instead. Once we got back into a storyline that wasn’t repeating, things got much more interesting. King and Cress have chemistry that will light up even the darkest corners. Their love and devotion to one another makes you wish for even half of what they have together. Although I knew it was coming and I guessed correctly about the ending, Cress’ pain leapt off the pages and drowned me in anguish. I literally could not wipe the tears away fast enough to keep reading and had to stop more than once to just breathe. Her grief was a living, breathing monster that had me by the throat. Be prepared to feel deeply when you read this book.
The One thing that stands out with The Fallen Men series,is the sense of Family, loyalty, broherhood and Love.So much Love that it just spills out from the pages.
After The Fall is the continuation of these bikers story, but the main focus is King and Cressida and of course Zeus being incarcerated….and how they have to fight to have him released.
The Love between King and Cress is growing stronger and they are still mad about one another,so it is only a matter of time before King pops the big question of Marriage.
But among all the Happiness there is a shadow hanging over the MC, Zeus’s absence is felt strongly and there is a officer of the law that will go to extreme lengths to bring them All down.
I couldn’t believe the turn of events that happened in this book,at one point I was just shocked to my core, and my swollen eyes are proof of this.
This story broke me a little,I was an emotional wreck…Geez Giana Darling you really broke me,shattered my heart at one point.
But the pain of those heart wrenching moments were worth it because the ending was perfect.
I am so in Love with this series I have no idea how I am going to survive when I have devoured them all.
I Really enjoyed this book and Giana Darling keeps amazing me with her talented storytelling.
FANTASTIC
I Highly Recommend it.
The Audiobook to this story is Phenomenal and The talents of Jacob Morgan,Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke are incredible.I Loved listening to their betrayal of these characters and how their voices made them come to life in my mind.Audiobook fans will love it.
5 Stars.
After the fall takes place after the first three books and in it we get to see how the relationships have evolved and deepened and I loved that so much.
The main focus is on King and Cressida and I love these two so much and especially to see that they would do everything for each other.
I felt a range of emotions in this and also cried some tears especially in the end and After the fall is another brilliant installment in the series.
If you want to read this one, I definitely recommend to read the first three books as well as the short story Fallen Son before this one.
WELL THIS BOOK TORE MY HEART OUT THEN (kinda) SEWED IT UP AGAIN!
This is book #4 in the Fallen Men series & even though each other book can be read as a standalone in this series, this book cannot. Must have read Lessons in Corruption (at least) before jumping into this story following our two favourite MC stars; King Garro & Cressida Irons.
The first half of this book follows the storyline of the previous book; Good Gone Bad, however is from King & Cress point of view in Entrance, ending with Zeus framed for a crime he didn’t commit. King then works with the Fallen Men in taking down Sargent Danner (Lion Danner’s father from Good Gone Bad). In the background, we also get to see how Cress & King are doing as couple with it being 4 years since their story begun in Book #1. I loved seeing how they still worked well in bringing out the best in each other & putting each other first. Their love for each other is true & I enjoyed reading about their next step in their life together including Cress accepting the Fallen Men MC as her family too. However the happiness abruptly ends & I warn you, you will spend the last third of this book crying.
I don’t want to say much without giving any spoilers away but an easy 5/5 read for me with 3/5 steam.
Cress & King
“I’ve got my North Star, if that’s what you’re worried ‘bout. She will always right my course, even when I might do wrong.”
More King and Cress!!! They just make my heart swoon. I love how romantic and poetic and literary they are. They are such a dream and the way they express their feelings towards each other and their family really makes you feel.
I absolutely loved how the first half of this book interconnected with the timeline in Good Gone Bad. It was great to get a glimpse into The Fallen during all that craziness. The second half was emotional (in all the ways possible) and infuriating. Even when you just know what seems to be can’t be, you still get gutted.
Giana’s words just rip into my heart and bury themselves deep. She has quickly become a one click author for me. Her words evoke a range of emotions from me that make me beyond happy and incredibly heartbroken and sad. She’s created characters that I desperately wish were real because I just love them all so much.
Sweet Jesus my freaking heart!!!!
Giana Darling, you…. Gah. This MC series has quickly became a favorite of mine I can’t seem to put down & this book was no different. We switch back to King & Cress from book one and I loved every bit of it.
If it’s possible, I fell in love even more with King. His sweet talk + dirty talk? Ahem. He’s passionate, romantic, possessive and loyal in every way.
This book ripped my heart out in ways I didn’t even read think was possible after what happened with Mute, but Giana proved me wrong.
“‘The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven,’” I quoted from Paradise Lost. ‘But it was you who made this place a heaven on earth, and it will, never be the same now that you’ve fallen.’”
I hate this book so much!(in a good way) I am so mad at the author, and king, and myself for falling for it. I couldn’t hold back the sobs that I held in during the second book. On a different note this book took much longer for me to get into that the others but once I did, I didn’t stop, not once. I cannot believe that I subjected myself to that and loved it.
P.s. I will never be able to get over this book series, this book solidified that.
Okay – I’ll say this upfront – spoiler alert! If you haven’t finished reading the book please do not finish reading this review. I knew back from Book 1 that King was always going to prospect and eventually become a brother. Why it took so long for King to propose and marry Cress, I don’t understand. But he finally did and then for things to go down the way they did. I just kept crying and sobbing and refusing to accept that King was gone the same way that Cress did. Talk about absolutely heart wrenching!!! I must have gone through half a box of tissues.
Dead… I’m dead… This one hasn’t disappointed. I was filled with the highest highs and cried so many tears I thought my eyes were filled with sand. Giana has killed with this one, and I can’t wait for Inked in Lies for more Fallen Men. This brotherhood deserves 10/5 stars!
Desvasted, swollen from crying for hours, happy, delighted. That was some of the many emotions I had when I finished this book and absolutely many more that I can’t even start to describe. I love King and Cress since Lessons in corruption but this book made me love them 1000x more. Their love is so intense, so true that I could feel it while reading and there is no part of me that didn’t love them with everything I have. But not only their love is incredible in this book, their love with the fallen members, with Zeus in particular is so pretty, cress and king have such beautiful adoration towards zeus and him to them. This book is a representation of a love so intese that surpasses life itself, it’s abou family, it’s about loyalty, it’s about resilience, it’s about making you wanting a conection as profound as tha one King and Cress have. Reading this book will only make you fall deep for the fallen mc, so when you finished it you will be starving for more of them.
Revisiting King and Cressida was a gift we didn’t know we needed. I was excited to read a new Fallens story but Giana surprised us all with furthering Kings story and omg she 100% brought me to a whole new appreciation of both King and his queen. So much goes on in this story that just leaves you wanting nothing but the best for them both!
There’s not much to say about this book without giving a spoiler. I just need to say that it was such a masterpiece. It kept me sobbing through all the pages but also made me smile and fall in love all over again with the characters that are previously introduced in the series. I highly suggest that you read all of them first, but if you don’t want to, at least read the first one; Lessons in Corruption, and then this one.
It was such an experience reading this book. I tried reading it one day, but I had to stop, today I finished it and I’m blown away. This story is the continuation of the romance between King and Cress, but four years later. Things have changed but their love remains as strong as ever and even a little bit more intense. The story has beautiful poetry excerpts that make your heartache so much. King is such a strong, possessive man but big-hearted that can make you scared and in love from one second to another. Meanwhile, Cress is such a powerful character that grows and turns into a wonderful being, worthy of admiration. Both characters keep surprising me because they have become more than I expected, and their love is so admirable. They are one of my favorite couples ever.
As always Giana finds the exact words to shake up your world. This particular book can make you so emotional and it’s totally worth it. It also has that steam that characterizes Giana’s books, combined with the passion of all the characters involved. Not even a second passes that you could remove your thoughts from it.
Spoilers. Discussion.
I feel like I’m floating, it’s so surreal. It’s been quite a few books in the series, and they keep getting better and better. Of course, I still have my favorite intact but this one is a different level. I loved it for many reasons, and it was such an incredible story I can’t get over this experience.
At the beginning of the book, I saw it as if it were Twilight all over again. But I’ve never been more terrified of losing a fictional character so much. I kept telling myself that somehow things would get better and they were, which is why I doubted it meant something good. I was so desperate and felt at some point overwhelmed by the lack of power to get Zeus out of jail. I feel silly but at some point, all I asked for was that some miracle happens. It did. Which made my night because I couldn’t go to sleep with that ending. I was devastated but now I feel healed. I think I have a lot more to say about this book, but I want to keep it short. I just want to say, it’s such a good book.
My favorite moments: The wedding, King’s Ceremony, the reunion, Cress and Zeus before her wedding, and Ares hugging Zeus.
End of Discussion
Thank you, Giana, for making rollercoasters and to think beyond what’s expected. You keep surprising me, and I can’t wait to read more of your work.

Excuse me? More of my favorite alpha and his queen? Sign.me.up.
Okay, I’ll admit I was initially scared that the author wouldn’t be able to create the magic, that is King and Cress again. That’s not the case obviously. If anything I love them even more now. It’s nice to see how they fit in the whole family and the brotherhood after a significant amount of time.
After The Fall was so good I can’t even find the right words. Such an important story for staying in love. My heart will forever be their’s and I am beyond excited that they got another book because they deserved it. King and Cress showed me again that love is the greatest power.
Reading this book felt a lot like coming home. King and Cress made their home in my heart already and there is no way I will ever forget their story.
We met Cress and King in Lesson in Corruption and this is basically the continuation of their sexy af love story. The love and intensity between them has grown even more and they are just… everything.
I would say that this book took Cress character development to the next level. We no longer see the judgy side of her (like in the first book) and we see a fully formed biker Queen. She is fierce and so protective of The Fallen and, of course, her man. If you ever hurt any of them, you will need to answer to her directly.
King… is King. He would do anything to protect his family and his woman, and if you mess with either of them, be prepared for his wrath because it would come. But he is also so sweet, so romantic, so passionate, so affectionate and just so… King.
We see more of the police (specially Officer Danner senior) and the Fallen rivalry and I just want to let you know that I just hate the guy, okay? Okay. The situation has escalated and The Fallen aren’t happy about it.
This book has it all, the feels, the suspense and the bitting your nails. We have super sweet moments, this is King we are talking about. I really loved that this book was in dual POV, compared to the first. Getting into King’s mind is… another experience and it made me fall in love with him even more. The chemistry between Cress and King is even more intense and the sexy scenes were steamy! Finally, Giana you made me sob (both the first and second time) and I love you and hate you for it (jus kidding, only love).
If you haven’t read this series, I totally recommend that you do!
This One Will Rip Out Your Heart and Crack Open Your Soul…
There is something about this series I simply cannot ignore, a heaviness I both relate to and appreciate even when it cleaves my heart in two and weighs down my soul until I lose my breath. I have read many MC romance books, have even loved a few, but this series is one of only two that have seared itself into my very DNA for all of eternity. And this book, the forth of Giana Darling’s, The Fallen Men Series, and second full length book devoted to King and Cressida, is beyond anything I have ever read before. I cannot even fully put into words the emotions “After the Fall” will foist upon you as you navigate a story so fraught with peril it will leave you irrevocably altered.
Here Darling begins close in line with the end of book three, a short time after King decides to prospect for the club, delving a bit further into his reasons for it. It begins benign enough with the first third of it laying down some of the finer relationship and day-to-day living details of him and Cress, as well as, their individual and collective relationship to the club. However, while the love portrayed between them will make you swoon you will quickly become aware of a darkness hovering above, evil looming, waiting to pounce. As despite the nonthreatening nature of the scenes before you, other bits woven into the fabric around them will make your senses prickle with unease from the end of the very first chapter. The initial unease quickly shifting to an understanding that all the seemingly mundane details have sharp and dangerous points of purpose, all driving toward a set of events so surreal, so absolutely mind-bending you will scramble to understand how all could have gone so terribly astray.
I was stunned at the events in this installment, so much so I cannot even provide my normal story synopsis as it would simply give too much away. So instantly perilous, so powerfully all consuming is this story, it will lock you in a literary death grip until the very last page, refusing to let you go even when you begin to beg for mercy. And. You. Will. Beg…
Never have I read a book that so quickly and easily made me so afraid to turn the page. Never have I read prose so steeped in unapologetic, heart piercing decisions that it made me terrified to read the next paragraph, the next sentence, or at times even the next word.
I would like to say this one will continue the intense but dreamy feeling deep in your belly that began in the earlier installments. However, this one will stoke a much different sort of feeling. Rage. Rage at the corruption. Rage over the targeted, abusive methods employed. Rage at the lengths some are forced to go to in order to keep those they love safe. And even more rage at the decisions themselves, as they alter the course of the lives and relationships of everyone involved forever. This installment made me seethe with unbridled, gut churning rage that simmered long and low and left me torn and emotionally spent. All while simultaneously basking in the beauty that is the unbreakable love and loyalty of the chosen Fallen family.
The emotional rollercoaster that is this book is almost beyond comprehension. So heavy will the events portrayed within lay on your heart, you will cease to be able to breathe, to think, to momentarily exist as you process the words before you. The feelings thrust upon you so intense you will shatter, splintering into a million tiny fragments as understanding takes root within you. Yet despite the emotional exhaustion you will feel as the last words cross your mind’s eye, and despite the absolute agony this story will put you through, it is worth every, last, bit of torture. And you will jump immediately into book five in order to continue the literary high.
