After the Blitz grabbed me in the opening pages and didn’t let go until the epilogue!
The storyline is touching, realistic and very well-written.
The characters are so personable that I feel like they could be my neighbors or friends. Greta’s heart shines through her kindness and generosity. Chip’s struggles after his injury are heart-breaking. He also has to contend with a hovering mother, which I believe is rather common in a situation like his. Sammie adds so much to the story. I can’t talk about characters in the book, without mentioning sweet Sammie, the therapy dog.
After the Blitz is the first book in a new series by Savannah Adams. I can’t wait to read the rest.
I received an early review copy of this book. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
Very well written. Very sweet and romantic. Great characters that end up with a sweet ending. I enjoyed this book.
This is really a feel good novel! An easy to read story with a happy ending.
Chip is a rising star on the field and has the qualities to play at high level in the NFL. However, during his last home game, he has an accident and ends up in the hospital. When he regains consciousness after 2 days, he has lost his memory.
Greta knew Chip in high school, she even helped him as a tutor to improve his English so that he would pass, she still gets jitters in her stomach when she thinks of him. When she accidentally visits him in the hospital, it turns out that she evokes memories and so Chip’s parents ask if she wants to visit more often. She can’t pass up this offer even though she knows she has to keep her feeling out of it. Chip starts to appreciate her more and more and wonders why he never asked her to go out with him.
Slowly memories come back, slowly they grow together, until reality catches up to them. Roxanne is her name.
What does this mean for a possible future for Greta and Chip? Greta knows that she is not a woman who wants to get publicity when Chip makes a name for himself in the NFL. Is Chip’s future with Roxanne or Greta? Is Chip’s future on the field….and what kind of a field?
I read the last page with a smile on my face

Great start of the new series.
Sweet, romantic, and furry – very enjoyable read! Memory loss is one of my favorite plots!
Do you know that moment of excitement when you discover a new author and a new series that makes you want to lock yourself away and keep reading? I just had that moment!
Jay Dyess makes listening so much fun with his range of voices. He not only picks just the right voice for male characters, but he doesn’t over-voice the female characters like other male narrators tend to do. I appreciate that.
I can’t wait to listen to more of this series about football playing brothers who all just happen to be country-boy “Adonis”-es.
I really enjoyed how sweet, clean, family oriented, and romantic the story was!
Can Chip get his memory back after his football’s injury? Is he going to go back to his former life or start a new and happier one? Can Greta help Chip while exposing her heart again? good audiobook with an excellent narrator, Mr. Dyess
I have to confess I am not a fan of YA and sports stories, but when this audio was recommended , I decided to give it a try.
This sweet sports romance centers around Chip Inman and Greta Griffin. Chip, a senior in college, has a future in the NFL all planned but when an injury in a game injures him and leaves him with amnesia, he is left wondering if this is a blessing in disguise.
Greta, a young lady who is a dog groomer and also has a therapy dog whom she takes to visit the children in the hospital , at one time was Chip’s English tutor. She had a crush on him, but she felt she was not good enough for him.
When Greta and Chip meet again in the hospital, life as they knew it would be forever changed.
This was a story about new beginnings and second chances in life and love. Not only were the main characters sweet but so were the secondary characters.
As always, Savannah Adams delivers with memorable characters that you fall in love with instantly. I particularly related to Greta as I am shy and bookish like her. I also really enjoyed Chip’s journey. At first he is filled with confusion and despair as he can’t remember who he is, but in the process he reinvents himself. Ironically he ends up being more authentic and true to himself than when he was a football star and his sole purpose seemed to be to please others.
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
A great start to a series! The story line will pull you in and hold you until you read the last words. It’s touching and feels real and is so well written.
You’ll love the characters and feel like you’re right there with them in the story and living their lives with them. I can’t wait to read more from this author and this series.

A blank slate.
Chip is a star football player at Kent until he takes a hit and wakes up a blank slate (level four concussion). Amnesia.
Greta used to tutor Chip in high school and has crushed on him for years. She’s fresh and sweet and spends time with her comfort dog Sammie with the children’s cancer ward. And now she’s spending time with Chip.
He dates cheerleaders and sorority girls. Will he remember?
Or will the real Chip be revealed?
I really liked this book.
When Chip Inman, star quarterback of the Kent University team, is injured in a game, he is hospitalized with a concussion and amnesia. Greta Griffin, a sweet young woman, visits the hospital each week so that her therapy dog, Sammie, can interact with the children who have cancer. Greta knew Chip from high school and had always had a crush on him.
During one of Greta’s visits to the hospital, Chip’s parents ask her to visit with Chip since it seems to help him trigger memories. He will need his memory back before the NFL draft, so this is important to them as they support his goals. However, being with Greta allows him to focus on her and how she makes him feel. Will he regain his lost memories? Or will he find the ones he is making with her have become the ones he wants to keep?
This book engenders very special feelings – and especially with Sammie, Greta’s adorable therapy dog. The characters are likable and the story line is well-paced. Even when a girlfriend arrives on the scene and shakes things up, it may not be enough to turn his new interest away from Greta as he remembers and finds what is most important to him.
First in what is sure to be an excellent new series. The story will grab you from the very beginning and not let go. The characters are so emotionally charged, they will leave you drained and wanting more
Looking forward to the next one.
The first book in the series brings Chip and Greta’s story. It’s a heartfelt story of finding what’s most important in your life. It’s a sweet love story that comes from Chip’s injury and amnesia and Greta’s help in his recovery. The author does a beautiful job building their story and bringing all the feels , keeping you glued to the pages right to the end. Well done!

First time reader & it didn’t disappoint at all. I was unable to put down. Chip was an up and coming football star when his life took a turn for the worst so he thought. Then Greta walked (back) into his life. He couldn’t remember anything from the football injury. His memory was gone. It took Greta & her dog Sammie to help him find his memory & his voice. Once everything was coming in clear to him, he was able to let everyone know that football wasn’t what he wanted. Greta was what he wanted. At the end he got Greta with all her hopes & dreams as well as his.

I love this first book in the Inman brothers series! The connection the Inmans have makes me wish I was part of a big family like theirs. Greta is so sweet, I was routing for her and Chip from the beginning. My favourite part is that as Chip gets his memory back, we see there is more to Chip than meets the eye. I won’t share what that is and ruin the surprise!
