‘Oh my God, this book was so so addicting! I just couldn’t stop… so many twists and turns in this tale that it kept me on the edge of my seat til the very last page.’ Bookshelf LifeThe perfect holiday just became their worst nightmare… Mediterranean island – but when her mother calls her out of the blue, wanting to make amends, she can’t say no.
Julius hasn’t seen his sister Emma in years. Although he can’t ever trust her again after what she did, he’s willing to put their differences aside for the sake of their elderly parents.
Despite what happened in the past, everything is going surprisingly well – days spent sipping sangria by the pool, evenings spent forcing smiles at the dinner table – until the night Julius and Emma’s father is attacked on the beach and left for dead on the sand.
She says: Nobody would benefit from our father’s death more than Julius.
He says: We all know what Emma’s capable of. And no-one knows where she was that night.
She says: He’s always been a liar.
He says: She looked me in the eye and told me she wanted our father dead.
Everyone is lying about what happened on the beach that hot summer night. And when the truth is revealed, it will be more shocking than either of them ever imagined.
A unique and totally gripping psychological thriller that will have fans of T.M. Logan and The Girl on the Train racing through the pages late into the night.

Overall, this was a quick enjoyable read. The structure, interview transcripts, was interesting for most of the book, but wore a bit thin at the wrap up. “Who to believe?” seems to be the main idea behind this mystery, as the ending is somewhat confusing and open-ended. But again, an enjoyable way to pass time, and I’ll read more from this author. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. #SevenDaysinJuly #NetGalley
Revealed through interviews of the main characters, this story is wholly unique and very engaging. The author did a fantastic job of weaving everything together, as each person’s point of view revealed another facet of the story. The method also kept me wavering as to whose side of the story was real and who was lying. Spoiler alert: I’m still not sure. I would definitely recommend this book. 3.5 Stars!
There are three sides to every story….yours, mine and the truth! This book is crazy! It reads like an interrogation room on a Law and Order episode! You think you know, but do you? Are you being played? What the hell is going on? I flew thru this read…perfect while being stuck in the house…thanks Coronavirus.
A family on a Mediterranean vacation, beautiful island, family, what could go wrong? Only everything! Geoffrey and Bethan take their family and his business partner and family on vacation. But, the first night there is an accident easily similar to one that happened 9 years earlier. The story is pieced together by interviews of all participants. Total dysfunctional family that will have you shaking your head. Nothing is ever as it seems…do we only see what we want to see?
Thanks to Ms. Wilkinson, Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.
Wow, just wow! After The Accident (formally Seven Days In July) by Kerry Wilkinson was full of twists and turns that I was not expecting. Written in transcript style, the book is fast paced and leaves you continually wondering who is to be believed. Kerry Wilkinson is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.

This book came up as Seven Days in July and not After the Accident as listed. I love Kerry Wilkinson books but this book disappointed me. I did not care for the format it was written in as it read like the script of a dysfunctional family with a he-said she-said dialogue. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Seven Days In July by Kerry Wilkinson is a suspense thriller set on an island in the Mediterranean. The novel is written as if it is an ongoing interview by a documentary team. I will honestly have to say, I have really enjoyed all the novels by Kerry Wilkinson, especially the Jessica Daniels series. Seven Days in July is not my favorite. I think if this novel had been written in a different format I could have enjoyed the plot and mystery more, I found most of the characters were selfish and arrogant, except for the mother and Emma. The mother is the only character which has no voice in the narratives. The opinions by family and friends of Emma, had me second guessing if Emma was a bit psycho or just misunderstood. Each person seemed to have a hidden agenda or secret motive.
Some readers will find this style novel very intriguing.
