From the first page, I was emerged in the world of a rock star, Quinn MacDonald. He and his band had it all. Until Hurricane Nina hit. My heart broke several times reading this phenomenal page-turner.
How does Quinn find his way back to the living and his passion for music? With help from an unexpected source—Phoebe Snow. She put a smile on my face each time she entered a scene. The sparks flew between these two characters! Often times, I’d recall a favorite rock song and hum along while reading. I so enjoyed this story! Looking forward to reading the rest in this boxed collection!
This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. My heart broke for Quinn and was glad that he and Phoebe found each other.
Quinn MacDonald and his band, the Dead Ball Line, were performing in Bali when he was called home for the funeral of one of his cousins. While home, he hears about Hurricane Nina that is due to strike the island…hoping for the safety of his band mates. When the entire band is killed in the collapse of the building, he is devastated. Suddenly, due to their tragic loss, the band’s music begins to hit the charts and although under contract, Quinn no longer feels the music. Feeling lost and missing his mates, he meets Phoebe Snow, a bartender at the Filthy Quarter. Phoebe plays in the NBT (Next Big Thing) Band at the bar and Quinn is impressed with their music and her singing. He finally begins to feel that his music is not lost as his attraction to Phoebe continues to grow. To me, this story is about hope and the return to life in the face of adversity and devastation. Quinn has the support of Phoebe and his family to find his way back to his love of music. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
After Hurricane Nina is the fifth book in the Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection. I truly enjoyed reading this book. Quinn MacDonald and his band were headed to stardom and with it the parties, women and the perks of success. When their hotel collapses during the hurricane, his band perishes along with the music leaving Quinn the sole survivor and still under contract to the record label.
Wannabe musician, Phoebe Snow worked three jobs hoping to get a break for her band. That break comes when Quinn walks into the bar where she works to drown his sorrows. She listens to him without judgement. Surprise of the night is when Phoebe joins her band on stage. The song they play is one of his band’s hits. He is blown away!
Is she the inspiration he needs to return to the music? You’ll have to read the book to find out. No spoilers here. If you enjoy hot men, steamy scenes, and happily ever after, this is a book for you. I highly recommend this entertaining read, After Hurricane Nina: Quinn’s Resolution
Quinn MacDonald and his band were finally on their way. They were going to reach stardom and success. Women were going to be knocking down their doors and the dough was going to be flying from their fingertips.
Until tragedy struck leaving Quinn the sole survivor of his band. With his best friends gone, his love and passion for music was lost with them.
Phoebe Snow was just another wannabe musician working three jobs and trying to get any gig she could. She had talent and looks, but getting anyone to give her and her band a chance was something altogether different.
Then one night Quinn walks into the bar where she is working trying to drown his sorrows. She talks to him like a human. Listens to him like a friend, then loves him like a man. Not like the remaining member of his band that everyone wants a piece of, but Quinn MacDonald, the person. She helps him find his passion, his music, and the love of his life.
Quinn’s resolution was the fifth in the After Hurricane Nina Series and each book just gets better and better. If you like hot men, steamy scenes, and happy ever after, then check them all out!
I’m giving QUINN’S RESOLUTION 5 well-deserved stars. As with other stories by Katie O’Sullivan, she has a flair for capturing the charm and personality of her characters. I felt an immediate connection to the dramatic and believable plot.
And what a plot it is. Quinn MacDonald, the lead singer of an indie punk band, is in exotic Bali, Indonesia, shooting a music video. When Quinn’s unexpectedly called back to the states, he leaves the endless parties, booze, and women to his free-spirited band members. It’s the last time Quinn sees his friends alive. On November 30, 2016, Hurricane Nina hit Bali and music as he knew it died.
As the music industry taps into the hearts of the band’s fans and the demand for Quinn’s songs soar, he’s not ready to perform. He quickly learns the cold, hard truth—a contract doesn’t care about emotions.
But a chance meeting with Phoebe Snow, a gifted musician in a band of her own, will have you rooting for his return. Unlike Quinn, she works several jobs to make ends meet, and she longs to become a rock star.
The heat jumps off the page. This stand-alone novella from the Hot Hunks, Steamy Romance Collection will not disappoint.
This steamy contemporary romance novella is a delightful way to pass an evening or afternoon. Fifth in a series based around the aftereffects of a hurricane in Bali which shakes up the lives of eight hunky tourists, each story is written by a different author. In this episode, Quinn, the lead singer of a popular rock band, leaves a video shoot on the beach early to attend a family funeral. The hurricane arrives while he’s gone, decimating the island and killing his bandmates. Since then, his life’s been a grind of publicity appearances with surgically enhanced “pop princesses” as he honors his contractual obligations and the memory of his lost friends. Unable to face another awards ceremony, he ducks into a Manhattan dive bar and meets bartender Phoebe, an aspiring rock star, who pretends not to recognize her idol. Blown away by her band’s performance and then by her kiss, things get rolling. Well-written steamy love scenes, believable conflict, well-rounded characters, and a very satisfying ending. I’ll definitely read more by this author.
Wow, this story-line is a tearjerker from the very start. The main character Quinn lost his band members/friends during a hurricane and it left him completely devastated. It’s only when he hears and meets Phoebe that he even contemplates a future. The plot is very tactfully written and consideration for how the characters would truly

I’m a huge fan of Katie O’Sullivan so when I heard she had a new book coming out, part of a collection titled HOT HUNKS – I knew I simply had to one-click this collection, and boy oh boy and I glad I did.
Katie’s addition to the anthology, QUINN’S RESOLUTION tells the tale of on the rise rock star Quinn MacDonald. Quinn and his band, DEAD BALL LINE, are filming their breakthrough-video on the island of Bali and living like rock star wannabes. In the middle of filming Quinn is called home for a family emergency and leaves the island right before a cyclone/hurricane hits it. When he finds out all of his band mates are dead, Quinn is devastated. When the band’s video is released and becomes an overnight hit, so does the lone survivor of the band: Quinn, something h e isn’t prepared for.
Life as a confirmed rock star is nothing like Quinn though it would be, especially since he can’t enjoy the success the band has garnered since the video was released. Chained to a music studio contract he doesn’t understand, the next year of Quinn’s life is spent making public appearances and living life in a depressed downward spiral in full public view. His reputation as a bad boy of rock and roll is solidified with each and every miss-step he makes in public.
On the way to yet another music award show, Quinn plays hooky, escaping into a darkened bar where he hopes no one recognizes him.
Unbeknown to him, Quinn is about to meet the person who will get his life back on track.
All Phoebe Snow has ever wanted to do is sing. Three jobs, including bar tending, pay the bills and afford her the opportunity for her band, NBT, to explore their music and try to get their name recognized in the music industry.
When Quinn meets Phoebe, he realizes she is the person who can help make him whole again.
The chemistry and the physical relationship between these two was so hot my Kindle almost cost fire while I was reading the story! Katie O’Sullivan has the unique writing ability to make words and descriptions leap off the page. I found myself fanning my sweating forehead several times when these two characters got physical. The sex aside, this is a great story about redemption, living with the choices we make, and the ability for hearts to heal after an insurmountable tragedy.
I highly recommend QUINN’S RESOLUTION, and really, ALL Miss O’Sullivan’s works. 5 stars from me ( wish I could give it more!)
Wowsa! This is one hot and spicy romance!
This series is amazing! Each story deals with the aftermath of a hurricane/cyclone in Bali, Indonesia and the grieving/healing process involved.
In this book, Quinn and his bandmates from Dead Ball Line, were in Bali shooting their first video for their first single. Quin gets a phone call about a death in the family and heads home for the funeral, leaving the bandmates in Bali to relax for a bit while he’s gone. That would be the last time they are all together. Nine months later, Quinn finds himself looking for a quiet place to get drunk and meets Phoebe, the bartender where stops at. But Phoebe is more than just the bartender… she’s a singer in a band too.
The instant connection between these two is blazingly hot and I was able to read this book in one sitting without feeling let down. The other great thing about this series is that you can read them in any order, no problems.

Quinn is living the life, his punk band is rocketing to stardom but tragedy strikes. As the only survivor from his band, Quinn takes things hard and the continuation of his music career is far from his mind until a chance meeting with Phoebe. Steaming hot sexual chemistry and superb characterization make this latest release in the After Hurricane Nina series a page turner. I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. This series just keeps delivering! If you loved A Star Is Born you will LOVE this emotional rockstar redemption story.
The fifth book in the series After Hurricane Nina Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection a book I enjoyed reading. Now that I have read this book I want to read the rest in the series. Quinn MacDonald has an indie punk band, he and the band are in Bali when their hotel collapses. He cannot get back to writing music after losing his bandmates and friends. Then he hears Phoebe Snow and her band play a cover of one of his hits he might be able to move on with his life. The story real really touch your heart. Quinn loses his entire band and he is devastated. He has skyrocketed on the top record charts and has a record label that he has to deal with but none of it matters after losing his band to Hurricane Katrina. Phoebe is a hard working woman that works three jobs to make ends meet but when she is on stage, none of that enters into her mind it’s just her and the music. Quinn is floored when Phoebe and her band plays one of his songs. Can this be the start of something to build on for the two artists.

I thoroughly enjoyed Quinn’s Resolution. If you’ve read the blurb, then you know that Quinn is devastated after losing his band to Hurricane Nina. My heart broke for him and the author did a great job of portraying his grief. I loved Quinn and for a short novella, his character was very well developed. Phoebe’s character is a sweet, likable heroine. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of his manager and his cousin. The book was relatively low on angst and it had a few hot and steamy scenes. The storyline was good and I didn’t feel like anything was rushed. Quinn’s Resolution is a well-written book that kept me entertained until the very end. This is my first book by Katie O’Sullivan and I definitely plan on reading more of her work. I received this book for free.
