This book is fantastic! It’s the first in the Men Of Stone River Trilogy. It features the youngest of the three bothers Quin. He is confined at home in a very secluded area in Maine. He was seriously injured In a car wreck that killed his father. In order to work from home during the last six weeks of his recovery his oldest brother, Farrell, sends his extremely efficient a admin to assist him. The brothers are not aware of the scorching hot affair Kate and Quin had two years ago. Kate broke it off because she couldn’t imagine a future with the skiing playboy. After two years of unresolved feelings on both sides, neither is anxious to be quarantined together for six weeks. The temptation is just too much to resist. This is absolutely a page-turner and I can’t wait for the next in the series! Great writing Janice Maynard!
I’m a sucker for second chance romances and enjoyed this first book in the new Men of Stone series. Kat’s sweet but sassy charm was the perfect match for Quin’s. From a near perfect weekend in New York City to walks on the beach in Maine, card games and stargazing, and working together through a frightening storm, this story had a little of everything. It all worked perfectly to show how Katie and Quin learned to appreciate each other for more than their chemistry, something that they hadn’t managed when they’d been involved two years before. While the start to the book was a tad slow for my liking, I found myself hooked by the half way point and couldn’t put it down. I knew they’d have a happily ever after, but felt such relief when they managed to overcome their dark moment. And Quin’s apology-exceptional! Proof that he really had been listening to Kat all along!
I’m so looking forward to reading more about the Stone brothers!
Katie Duncan and Quinten Stone, billionaire CEO of Stone River Outdoors Company, had an affair two years ago. Katie is Quin’s brother Farrell’s admin at their company. No one at Stone River knew about their affair. That’s why Katie ended up at Quin’s Maine cabin assisting him during his rehab from knee replacement surgery. Since Farrell and Quin’s other brother, Zach knew noting about her affair with Quin Katie didn’t think she could come up with a good enough reason not to take on the assignment of assisting Quin in Maine. Katie and Quinn had a blazing hot sex life two years ago. The problem Katie had back then was that Quin was a closed-up shell of a man. Katie just couldn’t break through and get to know who Quin really was. Katie couldn’t live with that so she broke up with him. Now here she is at Quin’s secluded cabin for a six week assignment. Katie is very nervous because she knows she will struggle with being so close physically with Quin for six whole weeks. Katie is still attracted to him.
Quinten Stone nearly died in the auto accident that killed his father. Quin survived with a majorly busted up right leg. Following a couple surgeries Quin, world renowned competitive skier, stupidly hit the slopes prematurely and mangled his leg again requiring knee replacement surgery. Having learned his lesson at last Quin swears to his brothers that he will follow doctor’s orders this time rehab properly and take it easy. Having Katie in his cabin with him is incentive to make the effort. Quin never forgot Katie and was very upset when she broke up with him. He is anxious to see if they can make a relationship work this time around. Quin knows he is still very attracted to Katie. Now to see how she feels.
After Hours Seduction by Janice Maynard is the first book in her Men of Stone River Trilogy. This is a delightful second chance romance. Katie and Quin go back and forth in this reunion. They definitely have their ups and downs. I enjoyed reading about the close relationship of the three brothers. There is also a hint here for the upcoming books about suspected corporate espionage. That will be interesting to follow. The next book in the series is Upstairs Downstairs Temptation, Farrell’s story.
After Hours Seduction is the the first book in Janice Maynards new series The Men of Stone River set in Maine. We meet Quinten Stone CEO of Stone River Outdoors and his brothers, widower Farrell and player Zach. Can’t wait for their stories! Quinten Stone has had a tough time, he was in an accident that killed his dad and did a number on his leg. He loves skiing and because he went back too early he wrecked his knee and his competitive skiing days are over. Enter Katie Duncan administrative assistant to Farrell and Quin’s former lover. She’s at Quin’s home to help him catch up with work, not overdo do and try to find out if someone is trying to destroy Stone River Outdoors. The chemistry between the two of them is still there and stronger then before! They decide to give in and have a “fling” while she is at his home. Throw in a trip to New York City, a tropical storm, a family secret
and you are in for quite a ride!
Good second chance story and start to the new series. Quin and his father were involved in a car accident that killed his father and badly damaged Quin’s leg. As a competitive skier, Quin pushed his recovery too fast and reinjured his leg, bringing an end to his skiing career. As Chief Operating Officer of the family business, Stone River Outdoors, Quin is stuck working from home as he recovers from knee replacement surgery. His brothers send Farrell’s assistant to help him and keep him from aggravating his knee.
Katie isn’t so sure about being cooped up in Quin’s house with him for six weeks. Two years earlier, she and Quin had an under-the-radar affair. It ended when Katie walked away, unable to handle his extravagant lifestyle. She has successfully avoided Quin since then.
I enjoyed the rekindling of the relationship between Quin and Katie. It is obvious from the beginning that the attraction between them is still there. Quin has no idea why Katie broke things off and wants to start again. Katie doesn’t think that Quin has changed and wants to protect her heart. During their prior relationship, Quin’s actions were very superficial. Skiing was his life and dominated everything. He liked being with Katie but kept himself closed off emotionally. He also made no effort to get to know Katie as a person.
Forced together 24/7, I loved seeing the changes in the way Quin and Katie related. Without the distraction of competitions, Quin notices things about Katie that he hadn’t paid attention to before. This is especially true during their trip to New York when he took the time to see what made her happy. I loved the hot dog scene, and how it showed him her down-to-earth side and made him remember her discomfort with his extravagance. At the same time, Katie saw a more open Quin, who shared his fears about his life without skiing.
Eventually, the sparks between them became too much to resist. As their physical intimacy grew, Katie worried about losing her heart again. Quin slowly realized that what he felt for Katie was different than he’d felt with other women. But just as he acknowledges the truth of his feelings, he finds something that makes him doubt her. I wanted to shake him for his bone-headed reaction and ached for Katie and her hurt over the things he said. I liked how Farrell and Zachary talked him off the ledge and Quin’s realization of how badly he screwed up. I loved his heartfelt apology and how he showed her that he knows the real Katie. I look forward to seeing more of their future in the upcoming books.
There is a brief mention of some trouble the company has. It looks like there is some corporate espionage going on. Part of what Quin and Katie do is look for evidence in the records they go through. Quin’s brothers also believe that the accident that killed their father may not have been an accident. I can’t wait to read Farrell and Zachary’s books to see how it turns out.
I loved this story. Quinten Stone and ex lover were thrown together by his brothers.. They didn’t know they had an affair two years before. He needs help with work as he’s the Chief Operating Officer, for their family business. He had been in a terrible accident which took the life of their father. Quin has 3 surgeries on his leg and knee. He needs to heal properly. Can the two of them work together for the next six weeks? Will they let the chemistry take over? Can they keep their hands off of each other? He never knew why she broke up with him. Is worth the read.
Another Janice Maynard home run! I’m a big fan of her series that feature hunky men. This time the family is based in Maine. Maynard describes the settings so perfectly, I can feel the wind, smell the pine, and feel Dare’s silky hair as Katie runs her fingers through it. Great heart-melting story.
Book 1 in the ‘Men of Stone River’ three book series is “After Hours Seduction” by Janice Maynard. I love reading Harlequin Desire books because it is one step up from contemporary romance, but not quite erotica. This was a really good read and brings us into the series.
Billionaire Quinten Stone is the CEO of Stone River Outdoors Company, and he almost died in a car accident that killed his father. After he stupidly decides to hit the ski slopes prematurely he has an accident. Katie Duncan agrees to come and help Quin with his rehabilitation after knee surgery, because her boss, Farrell, is asked her to help his brother Quin. She agrees to spend 6 weeks at Quin’s secluded house in Maine. The only problem is that she walked away from their affair 2 years ago.
There is so much depth to this story and lots of good romance. It will lead us into Book 2 “Upstairs Downstairs Temptation” and book 3 “Secrets of a Playboy.”
A quote I have been clinging to in the age of quarantine: READING FICTION DOESN’T HELP US ESCAPE THE WORLD, IT HELPS US LIVE IN IT (from harrypottersacredtext.com). That is 100% true of Janice Maynard’s After Hours Seduction. Quinten Stone has taken one too many risks, and has ended up in a quarantine of his own to allow himself to heal after a ski accident. His two brothers conspire against him to have one of their extremely capable employees come live with Quin while he recuperates, and assist him with work for their family-run outdoor store. What the brothers don’t know is that Quin and Katie dated…and she dumped him. The next few weeks are filled with work, friendship, and sexual tension, culminating in a weekend in New York City fit for a Bachelor Fantasy Suite episode. Perhaps more than any other heroine I’ve read recently, Katie’s convictions of her own self-worth and her rightful place in the life of the man she loves had me cheering for Quentin to come to his senses. The unusual-for-me setting of Maine and the promise of two more stories in this trilogy about the Stone brothers has me excited that I’ll only have to wait a few weeks for the next installment.
After Hours Seduction is a trilogy and this is book # 1 in The Men Of Stone River.
Quinten Stone is the youngest of three alpha males, Farrell middle brother who lost his wife to cancer and Zachary the oldest who is a playboy. He is a 28 y/o world renowned competitive skier and the Chief Operating Office of River Stone Outdoors.
Quin and his father were involved in a car accident that took the life of his father and left him with a busted right leg that required several surgeries. The brothers are unsure if the accident was actually an accident or someone was out to kill their father. Zach, Farrell and Quin lost their mother at a very young age. Their father seem to not recovery from the death of his beloved wife. After their mother death their father became very bitter and was not a good father to the boys and was distant and hard on the boys.
Too early into Quin’s recovery and against doctor’s orders and his brothers he goes skiing again and re-injured his knee requiring a knee replacement.
Quin is at his home in Maine where he is recovering. Quin’s two brothers Zach and Farrell also own homes nearby. Quin’s older brothers Zach and Farrell get together and ask Farrell’s administrative assistant to go to Quin’s house for 6 weeks to help him with the rehab and company’s affairs. Katie agrees and unbeknown to Quin’s brothers they do not know that Katie and Quin had an affair about 2 years prior of which Katie called off because of Quin’s non committing and caring more about skiing than her etc. Katie came a meager life where her parents worked hard for what they had. Katie worked her through college and made a life for herself. Katie agrees and arrives at Quin’s house and the attraction between the two is very much still alive. Katie and Quin agree on a no strings attached sexual relationship and when Katie’s 6 weeks is up so is the sexual affair.
Quin and Katie are in tropical storm in Maine with no one around and no help after the storm is over. Quin’s brothers calls him and informs him that they are not able to make it back to Maine before the storm and tell him to keep Katie and himself safe.
Quin is unsure why Katie walked away from him 2 years ago and wants answers about her departure and $100,000.00 check that his father allegedly gave her.
This is my 2nd book that I have read by Janice Maynard and I’m enjoying her characters and their storyline.
If you’re looking for a great read about three alpha male brothers this is the trilogy to read. Next up is middle brother Farrell.
I received a ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
I love second chance romances. It is probably my favorite troupe. There is just something about finding love again after thinking that it would never work. This is that story. Katie Duncan left Quinten Stone two years ago thinking they could never work. Being thrown together again proves just how wrong she was and just how right they are together.
Quin will make you swoon. “Every beat of your heart is mine. When you breathe, I breathe.” Ahhh.. swoon.
You don’t want to miss this new series. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I loved this book! Second chance at its very best! I love the world Ms Maynard creates in which her characters can roam and be in lust and in love. Because who can resist long hours alone with your hunky and rich ex, especially when the heroine in this story broke up with him a few years ago, but never could get him out of her heart?
When Katie Duncan agrees to work with her boss’s brother, she knows she’s stepping into the lion’s den. The man she’ll be living with is her former lover, billionaire Quinten Stone. Their passion sizzled until Katie couldn’t accept Quinten’s wealthy world. She’d walked away to save herself. Now the alpha CEO is back in her life, tempting as ever…and hell-bent on seducing Katie back into his bed…
A decadent reunion! With the first book in her brand new The Men of Stone River series, Janice Maynard delights her readers with a new family dynasty to sink their teeth into. The Stone brothers spend their days running their successful outdoor gear company and their nights enjoying life … or not. With this first book, we get Quin’s story and meet his brothers. I loved their dynamic and look forward to more in the series!
Quinten Stone is easy to like. He’s recovering from an accident that change his life forever, and he’s anxious to get out and enjoy the world again. To avoid an over-eager backslide, his brothers decide to send the job to him in his isolated Maine home.
Katie Duncan is a strong, sassy character. She can’t really believe she let her boss Farrell convince her to go stay with Quin during his recovery to get some work taken care of … but considering he didn’t know about her secret love affair with his brother, she couldn’t exactly use the awkward factor as a reason not to go.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romantic reunion. The book was fast paced and had lots of interaction and plot points. I really enjoyed it and look forward to Farrell’s story next.
I just love everything Janice Maynard writes!
After Hours Seduction is the first book in the Men of Stone River trilogy.

Katie and Quentin’s story was amazing and I can’t wait to see what happens to the other two Stone brothers.
After Hours Seduction is the first book in Janice Maynard’s trilogy: A Men of Stone River. Ms. Maynard writes wonderful second chance romance and she definitely does not disappoint with this book. Quinten Stone and his brothers own Stone River Outdoors. Quinten is originally injured in an accident that kills his father. When he refuses to obey doctor’s orders, he reinjures himself and is forced into recovery. His brothers send in Katie Duncan to ensure he follows doctor’s orders. Not only does she work for the company, she also was secretly involved with Duncan.
It was heartwarming seeing Quinten and Katie come to terms with their break-up and rediscover the love they once had. I absolutely love this book and read it in one sitting. I received an advance copy of After Hours Seduction which I chose to read and review. This is my honest opinion.
They had an affair two years ago. He still doesn’t know why she left him.
Now, they have to work together. Attraction is still there.
Wonderful storyline, great characters. Loved it.
We are introduced to Quinten Stone and Katie Duncan in this first book of the new The Men of Stone River series by Janice Maynard. Quin has recently been appointed as the new CEO of Stone River Outdoors after his father was killed and he was severely injured in a car accident. Or, was it truly an accident? Quin’s ski racing career was abruptly ended and having needed multiple surgeries, he needs time to fully recover. Quin’s brothers decide that Katie, will work from Quin’s mountain home with him to make sure that he takes it easy. Being former secret lovers, Quin and Katie don’t know how this is going to work. After a hot night in NYC and then a tropical storm, they are back together until a secret from the past comes to light. Will they be able to get past this or are they destined to be exes?
Great start to a series.
Quin was trying to put his life back together. Katie had a secret and avoided Quin at all costs.
Such chemistry and a great story!
