What comes after His Banana? Technically, that would be me.Before you assume I’m a potassium sucking harlot,Let me explain… people could create. Practically dripping with so much perfection you could choke on it.
Then again, I was almost certain he was certifiably insane.
Within a few minutes of meeting him, he was already posing as a nude model for my clay sculpture class in a failed attempt to expose himself to me.
So when he handed me a banana, it was almost normal by comparison.
And after his banana found its way into my mouth, well… I wish I could say that was where the saga of Miles Chamberson and I ended.
Miles
I prefer to start every potential relationship with an oddly phallic, edible object.
Why, you ask? It’s simple.
Watch any woman with a suggestive object and prepare to unlock the secrets of the female psyche.
Does she favor it with a secretive little smile? Nymphomaniac. Does she flinch back, only to guiltily grab it a moment later? Cautious, but wild once she opens up. Does she throw it back at your head and score a direct hit, concussing you for two weeks? Softball player.
Or, does she pick it up and devour it, inch by inch? Does she slide that bad boy into the hatch and relish every moment of it? If she does, you have yourself a keeper.
The recipient of my latest banana was the latter, but there was one glaring problem.
Commitment and I had a troubled past. And now my old man, Bruce Chamberson, says there’s only one way I’ll earn my rightful spot in the family business. I’ve got to show him I can stick with something “for once”.
Lucky for me, I’ve got just the girl in mind.

Miles is Bruce and Natasha’s son and he wants to go his own path but isn’t sure his father will approve. When he quits his job he tries to get an entry level job at the family company but his father isn’t having it. So Miles sets out to put that he can stick with something by dating Rey. However what he doesn’t know is that Rey is using him also for a paper she needs to write, What neither counted on was for real feelings to become involved. The more time they spend together the more Rey learns about him. Especially that he really wants to cook things and see people eat his creations. He introduces her to his crazy family thinking if she can survive that then she is his kind of girl. Rey wasn’t sure what she was expecting when it came to his family but it all went out the window especially when she met his Granny. Will they be able to make their relationship work with their secrets? What will happen when the truth is out in the open?
This book had me laughing out loud. I loved it. It was so much like the rest in the series with the humor aspect that I couldn’t put it down until I was done. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The next generation of Chambersons
When Rey goes into the ladies’ room she ever expects to find a man. A really sexy man. Then he’s in her sculpting class, stripping to model. But he’s not really the model. What is this guy’s problem and can she use him for her paper on abnormal behavior?
Miles is torn, his father wants him to prove he can stick with something, and he decides Rey is what he’ll stick with. But when he starts to fall for her she starts acting strange. Now what?
After His Banana is an entertaining, fun read filled with humor, quirky characters, crazy banter, passion and a great ending. Rey and Miles are complete opposites but they are perfect for each other. The writing is great and the story flowed smoothly.
Reader beware: You will have these laugh out loud moments for no reason while reading this hilarious story! If you read The Attraction series you will recognize the players.Miles and Rey need each other for different reasons, she needs him has a research subject and he has this attraction towards her. Their story is unique, fun and sexy.

Loved this book! Had a great time – Bruce’s son is a great combination of his parents and his uncle William. And Grammy’s still around, which is great! Ms. Bloom does not disappoint!
Great romantic comedy! This book just like all the other Object books is full of humor and heat! This is a must read for anyone who likes books that will make you laugh and hot and bothered (in a good way).
Miles And Rey’s Story Is Absolutely Hilarious! Miles’ Enthusiasm And Rey’s Acceptance Make For A Good Match. Note: Ages From My Banana Don’t Match Up.
This book is a follow up to My Banana, book one in the Objects of Attraction series. It follows Bruce and Natasha’s son Miles, who is a combination of his father and his uncle, William. Although not necessary to have read My Banana first, it certainly helps to understand the pressure Miles felt to be perfect like his dad, but to always come up short. Characters from My Banana as well as William’s story in Her Cherry, book two of the Objects of Attraction series, make repeated appearances. Miles’ cousins move back into the city at the end, hinting at a follow up to His Cherry.
Rey North, roughly twenty-two, likes to fix things. The NYU undergrad aspires to be a psychologist, like her late father, so she can help people fix their problems. Toward that effort, she has her sights set on an internship at a prestigious New York City practice that will open doors for her. To earn it, she needs the top grade in all of Professor Boswell’s classes for the paper on abnormal behavior. It isn’t only her future riding on the internship; with the loss of her father, her sister Penny is growing up without the same opportunities Rey had, so Rey works and saves to help out. To nab the top grade and secure the internship, Rey just needs to find a unique, weird person to write about.
Miles Chamberson, roughly thirty, likes a little chaos in his life. Growing up as the son of super successful advertising guru Bruce Chamberson hasn’t been easy. He wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps but only manages to disappoint. Miles is somewhat okay with routines – which his dad lives for – but his impulse control gets him in a lot of trouble. In some ways he is more like his brilliant but unsteady Uncle Wiliam. He loses interest in women in two weeks or less, so he has never had a relationship. He has managed to work at Markwell, an ad agency like his father’s but on a smaller scale, for four years, but in a show of support for the new secretary, he throws a punch at his boss and quits. Blacklisted from advertising, he does the thing he never wanted to do: ask his dad for a job. Based on personal experience, Bruce believes money given is like poison to the recipient. He wants Miles to earn his way to success, and although he is disappointed in Miles, he agrees to give him a job if Myles can demonstrate that he can stick with something.
When Rey encounters a man in the ladies room, he seems more than a little off beat. When he shows up in her class, nearly strips, demands a date, and offers her a banana, she knows he would make the ideal subject for her paper. When Miles sees the bathroom girl, he is drawn to her hidden beauty. He dislikes women that demand attention, and Rey’s unpretentiousness calls to him. Immediately overcome with jealousy – something unfamiliar to him – he sets his sights on getting her to agree to a first date. It doesn’t hurt that he can date Rey and use his new relationship to demonstrate to his dad that he has changed.
As Rey gets to know Miles, she discovers his layers and grows to like him in spite of herself. Her repeated failures to confess her motivation consequently cause her little confession to becomes a big problem. Miles is relentless in his pursuit of Rey, finding commitment and patience he never knew he had. Although cognizant of the duality of his motives, he never wavers in believing in his feelings for Rey as genuine.
Miles and Rey’s story is absolutely hilarious! Miles is exceptional in his enthusiasm, which makes him a perfect match for bringing Rey out of her shell. He helps her to take time to enjoy life; she grounds him. He finds in her the acceptance he desperately needs. The couple’s dialogue is laugh out loud funny. Miles’ potty mouth is shocking (as is Grammy’s), and the sparring between his mottos and philosophy versus Rey’s psychology is hugely entertaining. They are a lovely couple and enjoy a cute HEA.
There are a few issues that merit mention. First, the ages don’t line up with His Banana. With William in his early fifties and Caitlyn in her early thirties, Miles would need to be closer to twenty, not thirty. Twenty-five max. Next, Miles and Rey don’t actually spend much time together and he doesn’t have a job. Sitting at home doesn’t look like a sound approach to convincing his dad he changed. Third, Rey stretches a twenty cent ramen into two meals because she is penny pinching, but elects to pass on a free ride and instead pay for a two hour Uber ride, which makes little sense. She could have passed on the weekend and studied instead, sparing any expense. Additionally, that Miles allowed Rey to take an Uber rather than ride with him seems out of character. Finally, the story drags some in the latter half.
Miles and Rey’s hilarious journey is a memorable read. It is nicely written, though there are some formatting issues. The plot is fairly simple. The story is character-driven. The characters are wonderfully defined, though there could be more with Rey. Miles is unforgettable – a total riot! Grammy is colorful and adds to the crazy atmosphere. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Miles and Rey. I rate this book four stars.

You had me at Rey. I loved the Objects of Attraction series from the author and was super excited to see this spin off series. Getting to revisit the Chamberlain brothers (and Granny) made my day.
Miles is a good mix of both Bruce and William and Rey is just the girl he needs in his life. While they both have false fronts happening, they meld and play off each other’s strengths and weaknesses perfectly.
This is following well along in the previous series with laugh out loud moments and scenarios. I am hopeful more come down the pipeline to keep this light and fancy rom-com series flowing. Solid 4 stars for a novel I received in advance without expectations for review.
The story picks up the next generation of Penelope Bloom’s Objects of attraction series. I thoroughly enjoyed the Objects series with its laugh out loud moments and quirky characters that just work. You do not have to read the Objects of attraction series – or even the “His banana” book (that precedes this book) to enjoy this story. But if you haven’t, do yourself a favour! This story has real funny moments but also showcases the journey of two young adults in the struggle to find their niche and own flow in life. Little angst, good pacing and lots of sweetness, goodness and some laugh out load moments. The story is a true feel good light read. Although s3x is mentioned often – we are talking horny college students – the book is quite subdued in this regard. Not a bad thing for this genre!

I loved this fun book by Penelope Bloom who never fails to make me smile! This story features Rey, a college psychology major who is financially struggling and needs a research subject for a project to obtain a paid internship, and Miles Chamberson, son of Bruce and Natasha (from the Objects of Attraction series) who needs to prove he can commit to someone in order to obtain a position at his family’s premier advertising agency. I recommend this well written book with its lovable but quirky characters, a wonderful plot and a romance you won’t forget!

Back again for the “After His Banana” this time around we get to hear it from the offspring of Bruce and Natasha (the first book His Banana) . This time it’s Miles (offspring) and Rey poor psychologist major just wanting to get the paid internship at a prestigious firm to help out her sister who happens to be super smart. All she needs a subject to do her paper on Hmmmm……. I wonder who that could be? In walks Miles the perfect specimen for my project. Our encounter in the ladies bathroom was a testament of what kind of person Miles is not only was he in the ladies bathroom but he was posing a the nake male model for my sculpting class. Before he could actually undress the original model shows up and Miles makes his departure but before he leaves he places a banana on my station of course I ate it. So it begins….the adventure of Miles and Rey. The secondary characters are hilarious the family adventures and so on. Hang on get ready for rip roaring time and don’t forget the Banana

Loved reading another amazing story by Penelope Bloom. When Rey receives a banana from Miles, Rey eats the banana and agrees to a prequel date with him. Miles wants to prove to his dad he can be committed to something, Rey, and Rey wants to write about a person with an abnormal personality, Miles. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, full of romance and humor, and a must read love story.
Cute read that will leave you a smile on your face when you are finished. I have read several books from this author and I enjoyed this addition. Great characters that will keep you laughing.

After His Banana is the beginning of a new generation of characters, set within the Objects of Attraction world. Rey has an important psychology assignment to complete, and when she runs into a crazy man who’s taking his clothes off and offering her his banana, she thinks she’s found the perfect man. I mean, candidate. But Miles has his own agenda, so can their relationship develop on a few small lies and a lot of humor?
I was a huge fan of the Objects of Attraction series and was thrilled when I realized Ms. Bloom was going to expand on the series! Rey and Miles were so fun, full of flirting, tension, trying to figure out each other’s inner puzzles, and a bunch of romance! I loved them together. Rey had such a big heart and tried so hard to help her family out when she could, that she often put herself on the back burner. I loved watching her open up around Miles, have fun and find the humor in the situation around herself. Miles was amazing, and I absolutely loved him!! He was serious about what he wanted, but was almost afraid to reach for it. I loved the effort he gave when he applied himself, especially when it came to all of the predates he came up with for Rey! I was laughing out loud at times, swooning at others, and enjoyed being back with Bruce and William. While I loved the connection between the characters, I did feel like just a couple of the scenes dragged a bit, but I still loved how everything developed in the storyline and with Rey and Miles. I had so much fun reading this book and look forward to more!
4 1/2 Stars!
Written an upbeat and humorous way as Miles and Rey have a hilarious journey to their HEA. A spinoff sequel with the whole banana theme that was quirky and still worked.
This was more of a young adult romance with Rey in college pursuing her dreams of becoming a psychologist, all the while keeping a secret from Miles and feeling guilty about it. I liked the way she helped him discover that his passions in life were worth going after. This fun and quirky couple got each other and made the storyline an entertaining read. No cheating or weird drama, just a well written and fun romance!

Miles is like the perfect blend of his OCD father and his nutty clepto uncle!!
He is fixated on Rey from the moment they meet. I love his ‘pre-dates’.
Rey is so focused on school and her future and what she needs to do for her family, she almost misses what is right in front of her.
Miles is certainly a perfect subject for her abnormal study. Lol. His entire family would be. But will she go thru with it in the end?
Miles doesn’t exactly have purely innocent intentions himself.
I love how Penelope gives us characters with backbone, personality, humor, fears, dreams, quirks, and makes us love them!! Even when they’re kinda cocky, have a slightly juvenile obsession with their anatomy, and you can’t help but adore them anyway because they respect the girl!!
I love Miles!!

The title, the book, I just can’t put it down, reading it again.
Once I started to read, I couldn’t stop. The book just is so good, you get pulled in and you want to know what will happen next with each character. You think it starts out as you’re typical conversation between two friends who have so much going on in their lives but complete opposites of each other. One stops to enjoy life while the other is so very driven to get ahead that life passes by in a flash Fearing that if she stops the world will end, she blows off the proverbial “stop and smell the roses” for advancing in her life. Without a pot to go in, she continues to push herself to the limits. Then life happens, something we can’t always control even when we want to. The curve balls thrown certainly add to the mix of her life and well that’s when life really comes full circle and that proverbial “smelling of the roses” comes about full steam ahead. Once you get further into the book, you just can’t put it down, being the avid reader that I am, I couldn’t stop until I finished it as I wanted to know what happened with the characters. Once again, you’ll want more and will be hooked, line and sinker. I look forward to more. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Miles and Rey’s story is a laugh-out-loud romance from beginning to end, and although they are total opposites, they are so perfect together. This is a well written story which is filled with crazy, quirky and unique characters, witty banter, and is a humorous and entertaining read. I was totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.

This is a delightful addition to the series. Rey is a struggling student who needs to write a paper for her psychology class. Miles is the guy she chooses to write her paper about. He needs to prove to his father that he can stick with someone or something and he decides she will be the one. Neither one plans to fall in love. Along the way there were plenty of laugh out loud moments. Like her other books, this one is full of quirky characters and some hot sexual scenes.
This is a must read recommendation from me.
