Nobody cuts deeper than family…Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child … mother to the child she thought she’d lost forever, her only daughter Anna.
Maggie and Noah know that having Anna around will change their lives, but they would never have guessed that everything would go wrong, and so quickly. Anna turns out to be a gorgeous seventeen-year-old who balks at living under their rules, though Maggie, ecstatic to have her daughter back, ignores the red flags that hint at the trouble brewing in a once-perfect marriage and home.
Events take a heartbreaking turn when Anna is murdered and Noah is accused and tried for the heinous crime. Maggie must face not only the devastation of losing her daughter, but the realization that Anna’s murder may have been at the hands of a husband she loves. In the wake of this tragedy, new information drives Maggie to search for the truth, leading her to discover something darker than she could have ever imagined.
Riveting and disquieting, After Anna is a groundbreaking domestic thriller, as well as a novel of emotional justice and legal intrigue. And New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline will keep readers on their toes until the final shocking page

I listened on audio and it was really good. I never figured out the twist at the end until she revealed it. I loved how it switched back and forth between Maggie and Noah and between “After” and “Before”. So far, I have yet to meet a Lisa Scottoline book I didn’t love!
Couldn’t put down
I really liked this one a lot. The action just kept coming all the way through the book until I had to wonder how the author would ever get it all sorted out. In the long run she did sort it out in a shocking way that I never saw coming. This one kept me reading into the night.
Books with alternating perspectives can be difficult to understand when listening to the audio version. This book was very interesting to listen to and kept me entertained when stuck in traffic. A great audiobook for a long drive.
Good storyline
Hated to put it down. Lots of twists and turns. Surprising ending,
I couldn’t put it down.
This is great story keep you on your toes alot of twist turns fast read one of my favorite author I can’t wait till to the next book comes out
This was my second book from this author. I honestly don’t know why I waited so long after the first to read another. Lisa Scottoline knows how to deliver a mystery that keeps me turning pages needing to know what’s happening. I struggled putting this book down. I really like how the author gave us the before and after Anna. I think that helped us to really be able to get the fully story and be able to understand the feelings that went on. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from this author soon.
Wow! This was so amazing! This book had me on edge trying to figure out how it might end. Ms. Scottoline you did it again! I listened to the audible book which was fantastic. It kept me engaged and entertained. This story is about a young girl named Anna who was separated from her mother as infant by her father. Mom had postpartum disorder and felt it was better not to be with her baby. Move forward to the present, mom Maggie marries a wonderful doctor named Noah who is a single dad. They make a great family and love each other very much, but the past finds it’s way to Maggie and that’s where it all begins to unravel. If you’re a huge fan of Lisa Scottoline novels like me, you will thoroughly enjoy this novel. If you’re a reader of her books, get ready to become hooked on her writing. This was one of her best mystery/thriller novels! Five + ’s from me!
Another great book by Lisa Scottoline!
Excellent storyline
Love Lisa Scottoline and this one did not disappoint. Loved it!
Another win for Lisa Scottoline. She writes like the backroads of Chester County (Pennsylvania), lots of twist and turns. I really didn’t see where she was going with this storyline, which I loved. The characters are believable, situations scary.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
A fast paced story that’ll keep you guessing. A great book to read on vacation. I think it’s a cut above many other psychological thriller knock offs,
Mystery! Good job lisa
This is the second book I have read by Lisa Scottoline and I like the way her stories flow. Maggie had been forced to give up her daughter years before, but has now found happiness with Noah and his son Caleb. Then out of the blue she gets the call she has always hoped for and is able to reunite with her daughter Anna. She realises that there will have to be some adjustments to their family life, but is shocked when Anna reveals something so unexpected. Maggie is torn between the joy of having her daughter back and also trying to keep her marriage together. The story does involve more people about 2/3rds through and seems to lose a bit of momentum, but it still held my interest until the end.
This author has never dissapointed.
Keeps you hanging and turning the pages.
She has a huge following and I am one of the many.
Best book I have read in a long time. Kept me up late reading.
As usual another Scottoline thought provoking story!!
