I knew I was falling in love with the woman of my dreams when I was sixteen. I waited almost three years before telling her how I felt and then spent almost another year convincing her to give us a chance. She didn’t. And we lost two more years that we should have had together. Then circumstances changed and I knocked on her door, falling to my knees and begging her to be mine. She was. And we … And we began some of the hardest yet most beautiful years of my life.
When you love someone with your whole heart and your soul longs for theirs; when is it time to let go? Do you hold tight to each memory, thirsting for it to become reality again? Or do you keep them locked up tight so no one can snatch them away?
I don’t know… It feels like there’s a hole in my heart and what’s left is tarnished and used up. Is it? Am I? What happens now? Especially when things begin to change around me.

Yup she did it again! Lindsay, you totally took this story and made it so incredibly perfect! I loved loved loved this ending to this series! I cannot think right now, this book stole my freaking brain and my heart, times 87 (wink)!! This is one of those books that you know is going to hurt, I only waited one full day to read since I finished Penny’s book, but I needed to somewhat prepare myself. Travis totally broke me in Always and I was super nervous for his words again! But he is not hell of a character and yes his words made me bawl for the first few chapters. I couldn’t stot crying and reading through my tears. Like all good books it hit home and really rang true to real life and love. We all knew Travis to be the center of the Always world, well him and Josie of course. But Tilly was always a little bit of a mystery. For obvious reasons she was the one you wanted to route for but maybe couldn’t get totally on board. I love her tho and her character is perfect, not too much and just enough. She completed this series and family so perfectly! It was a full blown emotional rollercoaster ride and at no point did i not laugh and cry and smile like crazy! Everything fell into place and all the characters rocked it to the max! I love this family and will never ever forget this series! Read it, plain and simple!!! Lindsay Becs
Wow! I loved this story and Trav getting his HEA after Josie. I need Poppy & Zander story…you keep blowing my mind with this family. The growth from Always swells my heart! Please tell me there is more to come…spin-off, yes? You wouldn’t leave us hanging on a hairy (Harry) string, right?!?
After Always is the last book in the Always Series, and I have very mixed emotions about this book. I absolutely LOVED IT!!!…but my heart hurts that it’s over *sobs* I’m not gonna say much because the book is basically one biggggg spoiler so what I will say is YOU NEED TO READ THIS SERIES!!!! And you really need to read them in order because again, you’ll learn things from other books if you start later in the series. This book is again about Travis so it comes full circle, and it’s got the whole family of course, and some added surprises. Lindsay has done such a phenomenal job with this series, and I am not only recommending this book, I am telling you….you relly want to read these books, they are that friggin’ good!!
Like the first book in the series, After Always was a hard book for me. I so needed it because I needed Travis to find his HEA, but I was really curious as to how the author would go about doing it, while paying respect to his previous relationship. And Lindsay Becs did a good job.
I loved Travis and Tilly together. Both of them needed to heal from things that happened when they were younger. And they supported each other for so long, helping to raise Penny and Jesse as single parents.
I did have some things that I’m still unsure of. I loved and hated the format of this book (“One Year after Josie”, etc). I could still feel Travis’s love for Josie, and I loved the glimpses of how life went on for him. However, I think because the book took place over so many years, they felt like little short stories rather than a complete story. I think I would have preferred that Travis and Tilly worked things out a little sooner (although I guess that could have been weird for Penny and Jesse…).
That being said, I am so glad that I stumbled upon this series. It had the emotional roller coaster that I needed.
how do you truly know when you have finally moved on from the one person you thought you were supposed to love for the rest of your life? Tilly has been Travis’s neighbors for years, but until her nephew moves in is when Tilly and Travis really begin to get to know one another. Can time heal all wounds?
This book gutted me. Don’t read until you have read the rest. The always series has been absolutely amazing and I’m so broken to get to the end of it. Looking forward to the spinoff
Wow. This is a rollercoaster of emotions. This is book 5 and the last one in the Always series. As usual Lindsay writes amazing books. They’re funny, sarcastic, some drama and so many emotions. It’ll make you laugh, cry, and throw your kindle. This book finishes with the person who started the series the sexy Travis. Each book is a complete standalone and you do not have to read each book, I highly recommend starting at the beginning. The books interconnect and the family is in each book.
When a book makes you ugly cry, then laugh, then ugly cry again, you have wad a book that was amazingly well written. Lindsey Becs has taken this series full circle and wow what an ending!!
Her characters are so raw – so real! They have been through a lot and their lives are crazy and totally realistic!!! Her writing and situations are out of this world and sick you in!!
This story should be not read until you’ve read the previous books! This book will tear you up as you read. Travis is amazing! And all this story entails will make you fall in love with Lindsey Becs writing!!
First of all, do not read this book until you’ve read all of the previous books. You will not understand the magic of this one, nor will you feel all the emotions near as deeply unless you read books one through 4. Travis had the love of his life early in life. An unconventional love, but deeper than the deepest pool. Losing your true love could make you bitter, but Travis, a father of a preschooler, step father to his best friend Ollie and Ollie’s sister Tatum, has a pretty special outlook on life. Content to love his wife forever, he shied away from relationships to focus on Penny. Travis meets Tillie, a young woman raising her nephew and they form a wary friendship. Both gun shy, tormented by past tragedies, the two find a friendship with mutual need. He helps with her nephew, and she helps with Penny. Their story is so sweet. Tillie has the patience of a saint. I love Travis and wished for so long he had a second chance for love. Lindsay handles grief, loss, and renewal of life in love so beautifully in this novel. It is such a wonderful way to leave this family of characters that are embedded into my heart.
This was the perfect book to end the series. But I’m not gonna lie I’m super sad the series is over!! This series of 5 books is one of my top fav! This book made me have so many feels for Travis and the fact that there was so many letters from Josie to him, it was just the icing on the cake. *cue lots of tears* I am so happy that even with everything in his life, he was able to continue on. I’m glad that both him and Tilly get there second chance in life especially for everything that they both go through. I highly highly recommend reading this book along with the rest in this series.
Wow.
Just. Wow.
I don’t even know where to start with this one. Have you already read the first four books in this series??? You should. At least read book one first – Travis and Josie’s story. It is STILL my favorite in this series. Such a sweet romance!
This story is about Travis and Tilly. Yes, Josie’s Travis.
I need to start off by saying I loved Travis and Josie. So much! I ugly cried with that book. Seriously a wonderful story!!! I had mixed feeling about Travis finding another love. I didn’t want him to forget Josie. But at the same time, I wanted him to have a new love. He lost Josie way to soon in life.
Lindsay, you did this couple justice. I’m very happy with it! (You did get me to cry at one point!!!)
I HIGHLY recommend this one!!
So freaking great!!!
The story is from travis’s pov.To me the book gave the reader flash backs to the very begining of Always all the way up to everyone getting there happily ever after. I really liked Tilly’s character she was so patient & supportive of everything it took to get her second chance at happiness to . So sad to see the series end.
GAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! This book….I don’t know what I can possibly say about it that won’t spoil it! Travis and Tilly….in some ways frustrated the H outa me and in others made my heart swoon so hard!!! I have to say that you really SHOULD read the other books in this series in order to avoid some spoilers, especially the first book, Always!!! This family that has been through so much, withstood so much and loved each other unconditionally throughout, thanks in large part to Josie who remains a strong character throughout ALL the books in this series, in After Always we truly understand just how much Josie loved them all!
Ms. Becs has finished this series off perfectly….with Travis finding another love that, while Tilly doesn’t ever REPLACE Josie, he’s discovered a DIFFERENT love that will be forever! *sigh* I loved everything about this book with the FEELS, the heart-tugging moments that had the tears brimming, the heartbreakingly tender moments (especially between Penny, Travis and Tilly)….and the letters!!! All I can say is you REALLY need to read this book! It’s FANTASTIC!
Travis gets his chance at second love in this last installment of the Always series. I will admit I didn’t read book 1 of the series but I know from reading some of the others that Josie was his first love. I enjoyed the letters she left behind to Travis it added to the story so much. If you read book 4 you already know about Travis & Tilly just not the details of their story. It was nice to see it from their point of view. I enjoyed reading this book, Lindsay knows how to write an emotional read!
After Always is the final book of the Always series. WOW!!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE is all I can say!!! This book blew me away! It’s the story of Travis finding a new love with Tilly. I had mixed emotions about him finding a new love but I knew it wouldn’t be fair for him to be alone forever.
The book didn’t only focus on Travis and Tilly’s love story. We get to see more about Travis’s early years and him with his love Josie. The letters we read are amazing and so well thought out and written. We see other members of the family and everything comes together so wonderfully.
Lindsay Becs does a Fabulous job of writing not only this book but the whole series!! You get all the feels. I was happy, sad, giggling, and crying at different times. I am sad this series is over but I’m so thrilled with the way it ended!! Lindsay Rocks and I look forward to reading more of her amazing books!!! I definitely recommend this book/series. You will not regret it!!!
5 Stars
It has taken me a long time to pull myself together to write this review. Always has such a special place in my heart, and I wasn’t sure how I’d react to seeing Travis again and him falling in love with someone else. Well let me tell you, Lindsay is a wizard and I fell in love with him all over again!
I absolutely ADORED how Lindsay went about writing this book. We get to follow Travis year to year after Josie’s death. This was both amazing and completely gut wrenching. I cried so much during the first 30% of this book that I had to take my glasses off to read. Now, that being said, I’m a SUPER emotional person. DO NOT LET THIS HOLD YOU BACK! YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOW!
Anywho, Lindsay taking us through Travis’s life this way was so special!! We’ve seen some of these moments through the eyes of all of the kids, but it was truly amazing to see it through Travis’s POV. When she brought along Tilly, I was super excited for Travis and really for everyone else. I think that everyone hurt just watching him struggle. Tilly was such a pleasant surprise and a truly amazing person. We learn so much about both of them throughout the years and they are both such special people. I loved seeing them grow and evolve throughout this story. Seeing them both find love again was so great.
Now, I can’t talk about this book without talking about Josie. Just like in the other books, we get to see the letters. These letters ARE EVERYTHING!! Of course, every letter I’d cry again, but to put the amount of thought that Lindsay did with these letters was truly spectacular. Having a letter for certain moments in life was just GENIUS! And of course, we have to also talk about the kids. I loved how we really got to see just how much everyone adores Travis. Even though his age is much closer to Tatum’s and the same age as Ollie, he truly is like a father figure to them both. Add in Benton, Jessie and Bex, those elements just made your heart melt. I really loved seeing the whole family together like we did. They really became an amazing family unit.
I really can’t say too much more without giving this story away, but this was the absolute best ending to the series. Lindsay is such a literary genius and she wrote it so, absolutely, 100% perfectly. She really has this special way with here writing where you get totally sucked in and you can’t leave. You become one with the book and you hang on every word.
The Always series is the first romance series I have ever read. I recommend reading the series. I am heartbroken the series is done. This is the final book in the five-book series. The family in this series is amazing and will bring you so many emotions throughout their individual stories. The love throughout these stories will bring your laughter and tears. Each books reveals information for the next book so please read the entire series in order. You will not be disappointed. I know this is the end of the Always series but hope for a spin-off with the rest of the family.
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!!!
Again this series ended so good. I mean yes weve dealt with alot of stuff that happened but theres been so much good thats happen to this family. As per usual letters man they got me. The beginning brought back so much heartache after my own life experiences. But i seriously looking so forward to more from this author and the spin off series she has coming in 2020!
