Jen Turano never disappoints! Loved this story!
This was a cute book with lots of humor and a heroine you can’t help but love even if you are often rolling your eyes at her silly antics. If you enjoy humorous inspirational romance, check this one out! I laughed out loud a couple times. Will have to check out more of her books!
SUPERB! Miss Harriett Peabody is a lovely force to be reckoned with! She is a spunky and determined woman who has overcome a difficult past. I enjoyed the sisterhood of Harriett and her friends, Millie and Lucetta. Oliver Addleshaw is a successful businessman in the upper echelon of New York society. I enjoyed watching his journey from arrogant aristocrat to an endearing, compassionate man.
I so enjoyed Harriett and Oliver’s story. The shenanigans and elements of mystery kept me turning the pages. I devoured this novel in one sitting.
Recommend to readers who enjoy enchanting historical fiction.
I won a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
This story was marvelous and hilarious. When Oliver was oblivious, he was really oblivious, and Harriet was the perfect match for that. The mystery and characters were great. Buford was an adorable cowardly giant pup, that was perfect for the story. I never do a good enough job with reviews to tell what a great author Jen Turano is ( especially with using comedic situations in her stories). This book is definitely being added to my reread pile
It also reminded me a bit of a Cinderella retelling. Not that it was identical at all, just some aspects of it.
Wish you had more stars. One of my VERY faves! So many fantastic scenes. The Perfect Fit if you like romantic, inspirational , and all out funny wrapped into one!
Good clean YA book
I love historical fiction. I love when it is so well written it can be page turning, intriguing, witty and full of romance all at the same time. This book gives you all that and more. Read about Harriet, her friends and the Gentleman she gets to know and fall in love with Oliver. You will be glued to the book!
This was a wonderful read! It has a perfect combination of romance, suspense, and humor.
This is one book that I could not put down. I ended up spending the whole night reading it because I wanted to see what happened. Can’t wait for the 2nd book in the series to come out. To go from being a young woman who’s aunt moved her all around to being a hat girl with goals of owning her own dress shop to fit working women who couldn’t afford to go into the high end stores to being a fake girlfriend to a very rich man to having an aunt who is not such a great person. I loved to the whole story line and her forever believe in God to help keep her life on the straight and narrow is something we all should do, we all make mistakes but we give him the opportunity to teach us. I am so glad that she found her parents in the book and am looking forward to find out what happens with all the other girls.
You can never go wrong with a book by Jen Turano.
I really liked the beginning and premise of this story. It had really *great* potential. The first third was fun, entertaining, and kept my attention. The middle was mostly ok. I saw the basic plot ending way ahead of time…and I had to skim and skip a lot of the last third to get to the end. I have little patience for whimsical (ie foolish) characters and for reading the same repeated thoughts… There seemed to be a lot of parts added that bore me (dragging the ending on and on and on), and I am not an easy-to-bore person.
I have to finish/get to the end of a book like this…others without that need probably might have given up.

Was good but would have been better if the women in her stories weren’t so overbearing.
Oh how I love the stories that this author writes! I love how this story made me laugh out loud at the circumstances that these characters found themselves in. It was a story filled with wonderful and quirky characters. Add romance and humor to the mix and I consider this book to be a winner.
