“Boring? Tiresome? Predictable? We’ll see about that.”“I loved this book. it was well written, kept my interest from the very beginning up to the end of it and when I was done, it was one of the books I put on my read again shelf, a keeper. it was that good! I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could!” (Loraine O. – Five Stars)“So, I couldn’t give this book any less than the full 5 … couldn’t give this book any less than the full 5 stars. Too often subs are portrayed as weak, bewildered and passive, and Doms as over aggressive, control freaks. Nothing could be further from the truth. I loved that the Trish was bratty, and had real power within the relationship, and that Clint had vulnerabilities. Getting the balance right in this genre is a real talent. Deanndra Hall has talent to spare. As for the sex, forgetaboutit!!!! You have never read sex as hot as this before!!!! Turn on the air con, you’re gonna need it! It is the perfect book, thank you, thank you, Deanndra Hall.” (Michelle R. – Five Stars)
“I love Deanndra Hall’s books. She has a way of making everyone sexy. This book is the same way. I loved following Trish’s journey as her life went from destroyed to redeemed between the pages. This story made me laugh, cry, and curse out loud at point in the story. These characters become so real, you forget you are reading a book. I found myself rooting for her, hoping beyond hope that her story would have a good ending. I guess you will have to read it to find out.” (Miss Heidi – Five Stars)
“Chalk this one up as a timeless story with a heavy dose of kink. It has earned a spot on my keeper shelf.” (Carole, The Romance Reviews – Five Stars)

When Trish’s husband of almost 30 years announces that he’s leaving her because she’s “boring,” she sets out to find an adventure. Her attempt to drink her heartbreak away drops her onto a handsome gentleman who invites her to have an adventure, and Trish can’t help but say yes.
She embarks on that adventure, but her path keeps crossing with that of another – Clint Winstead, a Dominant at the club, Bliss, and the one person in the place who seems to despise her. And that’s fine with Trish. After all, there are plenty of other Doms there who want to play.
But when an annual event at the club throws Trish and Clint together for two weeks, both of them are horrified, not by the pairing, but by the feelings they’re trying hard to deny. As the time passes, it’s harder and harder to deny what they know is true – that is, until one nearly-tragic incident that almost changes both their lives irreparably. And when Trish realizes that continuing on with her commitment could cost her the ultimate – her life – she knows that it has to end. But does it?
Trish is the queen of second chances. But this second chance might just come at a price too high to pay. A little adventure is a good thing, but perhaps she’s gotten far more adventure than she can handle.
WARNING: This book contains explicit sexual situations and BDSM themes. It is not suitable for readers under the age of 18. Reader discretion is advised.

This is the first novella in the Bliss Series, a BDSM Romance. Dave and Trish’s story is fun, steamy, fast-paced, and emotional. Trish, an older woman, is funny, naive, sassy, adventurous, and definitely enthusiast! Clint, a younger man, is dark, broken, and dominant. Anneliese Rennie did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next installment in the Series, Unforgettable You. #SpectrumAudiobooks
4 Star Review Adventurous Me (Me, You and Us #1) by Deanndra Hall
AUDIO REVIEW:
Both the author Deanndra Hall and narrator Anneliese Rennie are new tome and I am surprised I have not come across them before. When Trish’s husband of 30 years tells her she is boring and he is divorcing her. Adrift and facing an uncertain future Trish decides time to life live.
When she meets Dave he invites her to his club. Accepting his invitation changes the course of her life. She is introduced to a lifestyle she didn’t even know she was drawn too.
Clint is a Dom and when Dave asks him to train Trish it opens up a whole new opportunity for them. Clint has been burned in the past and yet there is something about Trish that calls to him.
The writing was strong and the characters mature which I really liked. It was also steamy and kept me interested. I had a hard time connecting to the narrator but the story was good.
Can Clint and Trish pursue a relationship and in turn help each other heal their broken hearts?

Adventurous Me
Bliss Series, Book 1
By: Deanndra Hall
Narrated by: Anneliese Rennie
I enjoyed this book immensely, it is uniquely original story that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. It is my first book written by Deanndra Hall, she is a gifted author, the storylines and characters she created are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Trish was married close to 30 years when her husband decides to leave her, telling her she is boring. Instead of staying home and crying about it she goes out with a friend, while out she meets Dave, they start talking and he invites her to a club named Bliss. She goes and walks in to a world different than anything she knows, a world of kink and BDSM. She is intrigued by what she sees, a guy at the bar catches her eye too but he does not stay around to chat with her. Dave explains how things work in the club and agrees to train her to be a submissive until she finds a permanent Dom. This is the start of Trish’s BDSM adventure, an adventure where she learns things about herself and awakens a side to her she never knew she had. Things get even more adventurous when she gets paired with Clint, a Dom who she thinks hates her, for a two week home stay. She is not too thrilled about the pairing but Dave assures her it is a perfect match and she goes with it. Clint is a great Dom and Dave tells him he would be great for Trish. Clint is a long time member of Bliss but because of personal issues he has not had the easiest times. There is great chemistry between him but Clint seems to be holding back to maintain distance, all goes well until it doesn’t. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is nicely plotted, there is a great balance of drama, angst, kink and emotion. Clint has his reasons for holding back, events in his life hardened him and he built walls around his heart, so it turns out Trish is not the only one who needs to learn things, he does as well. Deanndra Hall thank you for the great story and emotional rollercoaster. It is a real treat to get to listen to a book where the lead female is in the prime of her life as well as the other characters.
I listened to the Audible edition, Anneliese Rennie is a talented and versatile voice artist. She does a fabulous job portraying the characters, humanizing them as she brings them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. I loved her take on Trish, she took the role and made it her own, completely grasping her persona as well as all her emotions which could be heard in her performance. She perfected the roles of the other characters as well, she made it easy to follow along and know who was who. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.
I received a copy of this audiobook for the publisher/author to review.
Boring. Tiresome. Predictable. That’s how Trish’s husband of almost 30 years described her when he told her he was leaving. Trish sets out to drink her blues away when she literally stumbles onto a man who offers her the adventure of a lifetime. Trish has no idea what she’s walking into when she visits Bliss, the local BDSM club, but under Dave’s tutelage, she takes to the new lifestyle readily. And when she is paired for two weeks with Clint, the one Dom in the place who can’t seems to stand her, sparks fly. He keeps her so confused that Trish isn’t sure what is going on. She is falling for the handsome, tortured soul, and she’s hoping he’s falling for her. But when a simple mistake puts her in harm’s way at his hands, Trish has to decide: Is it an adventure worth dying for? And when everything falls apart, can she manage to forgive him? More importantly, can he forgive himself and bury the ghosts that have been haunting him for too long?
I listened to the audiobook of this one. I will go ahead and say that I am not the biggest fan of the Narrator. With that said it really go one my nerves listening to this one as Anneliese Rennie does the man and the woman voices and when she was the man I swear I cringed. I just don’t like that. Why not have a man by the man and woman do the woman parts. Now I will admit that some people can do both voices but I wasn’t the biggest fan or her doing both voices. At times it was cringe worthy. But I refused to let that take away from the story that I was listening too. Because I loved it. A story of an older woman in a marriage that has lasted a long time is different to most books you read or listen too. I loved the story. I sucked me in and had me right there. That place where all readers love for a book to take them. Since I wasn’t a fan of the narrator I would have loved reading this one so much more than listening to it. I am giving the story five stars because Deanndra Hall deserves it. It’s an amazing story. The narrator….not so much.
Adventurous Me
Bliss Series, Book 1
By: Deanndra Hall
Narrated by: Anneliese Rennie
Adventurous Me is the perfect title for this story as Trish finds her new self. Being told she is boring by her soon to be ex-husband of 30 years, she stumbles upon Dave. Dave takes her under his wind and brings her to Bliss, the local BDSM club, and Trish begins her new journey to finding the real her. When given the chance to spend 2 weeks with a DOM, she takes it and is paired up with the one person who seems to hate her the most, Clint. But she takes on the challenge. Will this be the person to change her life? Clint is a tough character, and even with his back story, it was hard for me to warm up to him. While this relationship is difficult, I will tell you there are several things I loved about the book. I loved that it features a woman who is older, not perfect and she find her self confidence. This for me is everything! The story is steamy and adventurous and I loved her spunk and willingness to find her new self!
Anneliese Rennie brings the characters to life with a fantastic performance. She becomes Trish, and gives us her emotions on her sleeve. From the beginning, where she is put down to her ability to know her own worth, Rennie brings out the feelings with ease. She is talented, able to switch between characters with distinct voices and makes the book easy on the ears.

If Trish was boring, tiresome, and or predictable, I could not find it. She did things for the first time with gusto and excitement. Trish finds herself in a funk filled haze of “AmI?” swirling in her head because of an ex that had no cue. While in this funk she meets Dave. Dave introduces her to a world that she could have only imagined. Her first night at Bliss opens her eyes to that something that was missing from her world.
Trish finds that her new found her has a bit of kinky side. She finds that she is freer than ever. She finds an attraction that would lead to her world being changed forever. She also learns she is stronger than her ex gave her credit for. This was most certainly an adult story. There were floggers, gags, benches, public sex, stranger sex, humiliation and more. Trish found her life at a point to decide should she or shouldn’t she.
This was a complete first person narrative told from Trish’s viewpoint. I loved that she found herself. I hated that she let her new found self almost be trampled out of existence. Anneliese Rennie brought Trish’s new world into a clearer perspective. I found a few areas that felt like gaps existed. I found areas that just plain made me angry. I found that I had to finish it because I had to know more than just the ending.
A great book, written very well. The best book I have read so far about a Dom. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
I liked both Clint and Trish. Both had been deeply hurt, in different ways, by their spouses but hurt nonetheless. What is supposed to be a two week trial period for a couple to test their D/s compatibility ends up being a nightmare for Trish. Her strength, kindness and compassion is pushed to the breaking point and she has to admit defeat. Clint may be a good Dom but he’s being cruel in the way he treats Trish by running hot and cold in his temperament. There may be no hope for them as a couple despite their feelings for each other.
