It was very funny. Loved it
Strange book, not necessarily easy to read. I really wanted to know what happened so I finished it. Odd book, strange world building, sarcastic without being funny even has a disgruntled self absorbed serial biter/killer. I suspect things clear up the more books one reads… I will be passing on that opportunity.
The wit and fun of this book makes me want more.
I’ve read a fairly large number of vampire novels over the years and it’s always nice to get a new take on the genre—but a vegan vampire? Really? How is a vampire who pukes at the sight, smell, and taste of blood supposed to make it in her undead afterlife?
Mallory has no recollection of how she became a vampire nor any real understanding of what it means other than that she is losing frightening amounts of weight and surviving on coffee and fruit drinks. She tries to get medical help and gets told she’s a vampire, but nobody really believes in those, right? Then, as reality sets in, she finds out that the vamp who created her expected her to die from the process and has in fact killed several other women the same way. So Mallory decides to embrace the afterlife by getting some good old fashioned revenge.
This is a fun book for people who are interested in the undead but want to skip over all that spooky horror novel stuff. Lawley’s vampires aren’t particularly mystical or even very vampire-like, but she’s put together a light-hearted world of the living dead with wizards, assassins, and magic swords. This probably won’t appeal to the hardcore vampire fan, but I really appreciated a totally unique take on the genre.
Honestly, i bought it for the premise. It’s an absurd notion, but this author takes it and runs with it and had me laughing and rolling my eyes along with the heroine. Witty, funny, and the characters’ emotions and reactions were written realistically, while in completely unrealistic situations. I tend to plunge into books as if they’re real, and this was a fun escape for a day. I look forward to more.
Very slow to subject, but entertaining
The premise should have made it more amusing.
Loved it
Was differnt look at vampires in a funny way and too short.
A great quick and entertaining read
Interesting read. Can’t wait to read the whole series.

Mallory goes out with co-workers and wakes up days later not able to eat, losing weight, and learned that she had slept for days. She learns that she has been transformed into a vampire. But not your typical Vampire. She hates blood. She learns from other Vampires and others to try to find out who did this to her. When I started the book I really didn’t like it, but as I got into it the book got better.
This was an original theme – vampire? Can’t drink blood!
Just read all of the Vegan Vamp books in less than 1 week. Couldn’t put them down and now anxiously waiting for the next one.
Very cute book and a great light read!
Honestly, I did not expect to like this book and I ended up loving it. A really fun read!
