One of the best books I read so far (and I read a lot, UOL); read all Riley’s books and love them all, but this one has so much feeling on every single page, that Had me crying and laughing all the way!
Be warmed though: this is the kind of story that will get you sad when it’s over….and once you starts reading, you can’t stop it!
This couple broke my heart, then put it back together again. Sometimes what you believe in your mind is best for everyone, doesn’t seem that way to the person you think you are protecting. Carter and Delaney have a true love but things get broken along the way. He has come home to repair the damage and hopes it’s not to late to get her back, then outside evilness steps in and he hopes she will not run from him as he locks down all emotion to save her. Whew, what a love to have.
Not only did I absolutely love Adoring Delaney but I am in love with the entire Next Generation series! Each book stands alone however I recommend reading them in order due to all the interconnecting characters and the timeline. Carter Lenox and Delaney aka Laney Walker have been in love ever since Laney came of age. Carter had always planned to follow his father and uncles call to serve and didn’t want Laney to wait around for him between missions or the very real possibility of him never returning to her alive. Laney knew what her heart wanted and that was Carter and now it is 8 years later and life has thrown a huge curve ball at these two. Laney’s heart has been broken but not by Carter but the circumstances of life. Carter doesn’t know what has happened to break Laney but he has finally gotten his priorities straight and wants the life he had always dreamed of with her but is he too late? These two have both been wounded and what they need to realize is that together they are so much stronger than apart. Adoring Delaney is a story of heartache and heartbreak but true love can heal all wounds. It is told from dual POV and it is sweet, sad, steamy and suspenseful. I fully recommend it!
We get Delaney and Carters story it’s been a long wait but boy was it worth it. Riley didn’t disappoint with this book. There is so much emotion I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. You won’t want to stop reading so leave yourself time. At one point I had to stop awhile I got so emotional . One minute I was crying then laughing , smiling This book is about forgiveness and having the strength to overcome. This is a must read. I received an arc for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book it kept my interest from page one. It really brought out the emotions (happy, sad, despair, and loneliness.). You could see their family knew they were meant for each other, they just had to work out their doubts about if they could
handle being together, especially with Carter,s
career in the Navy.
Riley Edwards you do have away with characters and story line that never disappoints.
This book is absolutely amazing!! It has all the emotions and then some. Delaney and Carter…..first love, lost love, hurt, anger and fear….what a roller coaster ride of a relationship! Can they put the past behind them? Can love really conquer all? This is a story of second chances in life and love. Loved it!!
Adoring Delaney: The Next Generation
Riley Edwards
An emotional 2nd chance story that brings Delaney and Carter to the end of a long journey. Will they survive or will they take separate paths?
Riley Edwards tells the story through the view of both characters in a gripping manner. Strong characters who have you rooting for them. Can love be enough?
An excellent but sad story with a HEA. It’s a story about young love, nightmares from Carter’s time as a Seal, and some things lost and can’t recover. Delaney and Carter have loved each other since they were children. But now they are adults and Delaney has been thru some rough times that Carter doesn’t know about. But Delaney’s past comes back to haunt her and hopes it’s not a repeat error on her part. If you like steam there is plenty of that. Most of the action takes place at the end of the book. HEA.
Once again, the author gives us a story that grabs you the moment you read the first page.
The book centers around Navy SEAL Carter Lenox and Delaney Walker. A woman that has loved Carter all her life but after losses in her life , decides to move on and leave Carter behind.
But fate has a different agenda. Life brings them back together but danger is around the corner.
It’s a story that at times is heartbreaking , at others heartwarming, with good guys, evil around the corner and of course romance.
Another well written and engaging story in this series.
I as entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This book is about forgiveness. Forgive ourselves for the choices we’ve made, forgiving those we love, and moving on from the things we can’t change. Delaney and Carter have a wonderful story filled with all kinds of real life emotions. Ms. Edwards never shys away from writing the emotions everyone is feeling. This book wraps up the story about started in Mercy’s book, but can be read as a standalone and has a HEA.
This is a worthy successor to Mercy’s story, and the repercussions of those events spill over here too. But Carter and Delaney’s story is one of Riley Edwards’s best. When Carter finally wakes up to what he should have known about his love for Delaney, she makes him work for it. Along with the suspense, this book has family love and caring, it needs boxes of tissues to stem the flood, and, after reading it, you feel better about life than you did before. I loved the suspense element in this book too; it’s never overt, but the hints add up. I actually re-read it almost immediately, I enjoyed it so much. As always, the characters are admirably written; they come off the pages, and the story makes sense.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy, and the views are my own.
Grab some Kleenex and make sure you have time to read it and not put it down before sitting down to read this book. It has got ALL. THE. FEELS. There is absolutely no way possible to jump right into another book after reading this. I’m gonna need a day or two to process this. It pulls you in from the very first chapter. Carter and Delaney know they are it for each other, have known for years but like a typical man he pushes it away thinking he is protecting her from a life of loneliness and misery. You will laugh, you will cry, you will get mad, and be in love all at once and then cry some more. Delaney is so lost and in such gut wrenching pain, keeping it all to herself and thinks she lost it all including Carter. He however isn’t standing for it and pushes her till she let’s it all out, then he runs and thinks he lost his chance at happiness till the alpha men in his life knock some sense into his head. They FINALLY have it all together in the grasp of their hands but Delaney is making him work for it and not just gonna let it all happen easily. He wears her down and they give it their all until an unknown enemy tries to take it all away again.
