Passion and politics feed more than one vice in Addicted to Trouble.Iris loves Northside Grill as much as an old friend, but if her customers keep leaving for her hometown rival, she may be forced to sell. Her best option? To run for a vacant seat on the City Council and use the position to instigate change. Her hot-as-hell opponent has the same idea, and Lincoln craves competition. When Iris … Lincoln craves competition.
When Iris challenges him in the local political race, he’s intrigued.
A woman as fine as Iris shouldn’t trust a man like him, but Lincoln can’t resist twisting his interest into a provocative game. Will his high-stakes gamble pay off? Maybe a few rides on his Harley will tip the odds in his favor, because Lincoln definitely isn’t a sure bet.

I thoroughly enjoyed Iris and Lincoln’s story. Ashwood is a typical small town with close knit residents. The emotions jumped off the page. I cried through Iris’ visit with Ian. This book is a page-turner to the very end.
Please read this series from the beginning as each are connected to the others. Iris hasn’t been able to get Lincoln out of her mind since the dance at Natalie and Seth’s engagement party and Lincoln get get her out of his. She wants to find a way to keep business going in Ashwood but her idea isn’t going to go over very well. Getting onto the City Council is a start but Lincoln has his own plans which also includes that. When they find out they want the same things for the town (even though he may have a different reason behind it) they band together to find a way to make it come true. They have so many differences , yet want some of the same things. Both are strong characters, each in their own ways but are finding each other is one of the best things to happen to them. Kinney Scott brings us to Ashwood so vividly that you can almost see what it and those in town. Another 5 star book in this series and I’m thrilled Kinney Scott wrote it.
In Ashwood Iris has made herself a home and has ran a successful business in Northside Grill. However, Ashwood is such a small town that having another restaurant is always going to be competition. But why does that competition have to attract Iris so much?
For Lincoln he moved to Ashwood to start up his cannabis business. But opening his pizza joint is just a starter until he can get the council to change their views on allowing a cannabis shop in their small city. To do this, Lincoln will run for the open seat on the council to start making changes in his favor. But he isn’t the only one actively running to seek change in Ashwood. His business competitor and now his challenger for the seat may become his greatest helper.
What was only suppose to start as a mutual beneficial relationship has now progressed to a friends-with-benefits that could only lead to pain for one or both of them. For Iris she believes she isn’t healed enough from her troubling past that still causes panic attacks years later. For Lincoln he doesn’t think he could ever be enough for Iris, after all he’s used to living the simple life with no complications.
Iris and Lincoln might possibly be my favorite couple so far in the Ashwood series. They both have their own “shortcomings” that they believe they must overcome to offer the best versions of themselves to each other. Lincoln also proves to be a very patient man while helping Iris overcome her fears and helping her to see that she isn’t less of a person because of her fears.
this was the fourth book in this series! she wants to keep her business and sty in this town. only there is a new guy that wants to take over. hes hot but hes also the rival. read to find out what happens.
The well written storyline and the interesting characters made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read! I look forward to reading more from this author!
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well.
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in a wee bit of drama and you have a good read.

This is book four in the Ashwood series. I have had the pleasure if reading and loving each of the books in the series. This book is about Iris, who moved to Ashwood and has the Northside Grill. She is worried about the loss of her customers to her rival and decides she needs to do something before she has to shut her doors for good. Lincoln has also moved to Ashwood and views Iris as competition. There is a single seat open on City Councel and both of these characters see gaining this seat the solution to their respective businesses. These two characters have pasts that of course make them untrusting and butter in the love department but they pack alot of chemistry together. Can Iris and Lincoln leave their past behind them and look forward to a future? Maybe even a HEA? Another great story with our Ashwood residents where not everyone is looking for love but some are finding it in the least likely places. Enjoy!

Well thought out, wonderful characters, and great world building! I loved this story. It is part of a series but you can read this without reading any of the others! What a great story! Iris and Lincoln are sizzling, and the fact that they are literally in competition with each other just adds to the story.

Pepperoni with extra sauce please!
Lincoln and Ivy first met each other back when Ivy was with Wade. They were also business competitors. They are both transplants to Ashwood, have emotional/mental baggage, and has a common political goal. I think these two are the most developed characters I’ve encountered in a romance book. Their respective backgrounds are multi-layered and has depth. While the book has steamy sex encounters (much appreciated!), it can stand on just the plot. What I admire about Kinney Scott’s writing is her ability to create conflicts without relying on character angst. Both Ivy and Lincoln have trust issues and it is expected in their situation but Ms. Scott didn’t use that to carry the plot. Addicted to Trouble is a deep, full-bodied story that’s truly engaging and heartwarming. If this is the first Kinney Scott book you’ve read, I highly recommend reading the rest of the Ashwood series. You wouldn’t regret it. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
I love this series of books. They are filled with complex characters and run the gamut of emotions before finally getting to an HEA.
Iris, the owner of the Northside Grill, finally gets her man though not without having to deal with a lot of baggage. Lincoln comes to Ashwood to open a pizza place but with the real intention of opening the area’s only pot shop. He and Iris run against each other for town council and he wins. He also becomes her roommate to get around a local ordnanace. They end up acting on their incredible chemistry. Her loan on the grill gets called in and he works with the whole town to raise the money for her. They end the book married and expecting twins.

Love the name Zippo.
This one was a hoot Lincoln is a lovable jerk and Iris a business owner who is facing some hard times. Their love story was annoying at times with the touch of steam that kept me reading till the end. What I really liked was all the characters in the story and what is a story set in Washington State where there is not a weed shop! Sorry, it is my home state and I loving like to make fun of it at times. Check the book out it is not too bad. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I really enjoyed Iris and Lincoln’s book it might just be my favorite so far from this author. It was really well written with a good plot that will keep you hooked and reading late into the night. It is a wonderful read and was a lot of fun. A great addition to the series
Beautiful to see community unite for positive change.
I am sitting here safe high and at peace.
I don’t know if anyone noticed I read a lot.
This book hit so deep though. It’s actually about Cannabis, legally building, and dealing with controversy involved. It shows community seeing being supportive to stop outdated anger. Oh and there is a hot tattoo guy with a Harley. Lots of hot steamy details about truly finding Love. All that too. So my real dilemma is how do I write this review. It means more to me than the average quick review. It shows humanity in an uplifting way.
4 out of 5 stars
Welcome to Ashwood , where Iris runs Northside Grill and loves it so much . When her customers start heading to the competition. She has to come with a plan to keep her bar or she will have to sell .When a seat on city council comes up vacant she decides to run but so does her rival . The hot as hell Lincoln and the owner of the rival pizza place has the same idea. When Iris intrigues him he can’t help but go after her and make her his . But will the bet pay off and will they come out together on the other side.
The characters in this story are well written and complex . Iris is a loyal woman who loves her town and loves her bar . She has had some past problems that have shaped her into the woman she is. She is loyal and kind and wants to see her town survive . There is a part of her that is because of what she has gone through . Has a hard time trusting and comes of a little naive sometimes . She has lots of friends that are there to help her when her past comes back to haunt her. Lincoln well lets just say he is hot and sexy . He has a son and well smokes one cigarette a day . He is cocky and so sure of himself and loves the challenge, You actually see him start to change the more time he is with Iris . Actually you see them both change . They really do make a great couple and i truly liked them together , they challenge each other .
This book is the first book I have read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised . I was sucked in by the second chapter and I started to really care for them . There are some twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages . There were laughs and tears , trust me there are a couple of scenes where I had tears running down my cheeks . There were a few spots in the book that I felt that should of been a little shorter and it kind of fell into the trap of girl gets boy and then something horrific happens and girl runs off and boy finally gets a clue and runs after her . I just think that it is a trope that seems to be way over done It didn’t stop me from reading though the author does a good spin on it though . I would recommend this book for your summer reading list . Make it one of your end of summer reads for the pool
Wow, loved Iris and Lincoln! This is my first book from this author. And I’ll definitely be checking out more. I love the small town and how everyone is there for each other! I was drawn in from start to finish! Wonderful characters and storyline.
Great storyline and characters. Couldn’t put it down.loved the small town and how everyone works together to help those in need wether they want it or not.
This book is really good, it is easy to read and very detailed you feel like you’re actually in that small town. I think Lincoln is my favorite character because hes charming and who doesn’t love a man you can cook. Highly recommend this book.
Addicted to Trouble
What an awesome story with great characters, plenty of actions and twists and turns keep you enthralled and entertained from start to end
Wow…I stayed up all night and read this in one sitting! That’s not normal for me these days. Well not often! I couldn’t stop! Love Iris and Lincoln. So sweet and funny and totally naughty fun times. Kept me interested til the end. I’ll say again not many contemporary romances do it for me. This is a rare gem and I’m keeping a lookout for this author! Loved it.
