Do you know that series that caught your attention with just one book?
Well, this series was one of them.
One book was all it took to make me fall in love with all the characters.
Have you read the Bayou Devils MC series?
If you have you know how I’m feeling. But if you don’t… Guys grab it.
A.M. Myers is the bomb. Just one book and I am addicted to her.
Her writing is raw and wild, intense with a touch of darkness and hotness in between.
Addicted to Love is the second book from this series and explores the lives of Carly and Chance.
Carly had suffered tremendously in her teenage years and the suffering marked her.
She’s a sweet girl with a lot of issues and doesn’t want to fall in love with a bad boy.
When her path crosses with Chance…
Chance is the ultimate bad boy. He’s drop-dead gorgeous and he knows it.
He’s one of the MC brothers and will do everything to protect his family.
When his best friend falls in love with a girl, he wasn’t expecting her girlfriends…
OMG, this book… This book…
My heart is crushed.
This book was freaking amazing and I loved every chapter of it.
Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn’t stop reading it.
Suspense surrounded this story and I was shaking from the intensity of it.
Crime, punishment, betrayal, as well as love, loyalty, and desire, were very present in this book and you will feel it in your bones.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, stubborn much… But then there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
This book focuses on a subject that everyone should be aware of, domestic violence.
It has a few stories, a few cases that happen in real life.
It was a book that stole my heart and my soul.
Great book A.M. perfect. Can’t wait to start book 3.
So here is the second book in this series. I am slowly reading my way through the series. So here we have Chance and Carly’s story. Now this book is long with a slow burn. The story line is really good. So Carly has a past that had definitely changed her and she is doing anything she can to keep relationships at bay. Then she meets Chance who test those limits. When Chance first laid eyes on her he was intrigued and something inside him just clicks. He is there for her when she least expects him. He sees a different side of her when she is not in public. She hides behind her facade. However, she cares for her family except for her mother. Man, let me tell you that her mother is a piece of work. I am not going to lie but this book made me cry towards the end. I did not see it coming and nor did I expect it to go in that direction. You will go on one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride with this one. The question remains, will she finally give in to what she could have with Chance. Will Chance be able to rescue her when she needs it? I can say that we get an HEA but we also have tragedy. Make sure to have tissues when you read this.

Addicted to Love is book two in the Bayou Devils MC Series. I was a little unsure how I was going to feel about this book. I was a little disappointed in the storyline and depth of this series after finishing book one, but I was happy with how much I enjoyed reading Chance and Carly’s story. One thing I love in my romance stories is angst. This book was full of it. I am not a fan of insta-love or having my hero being in his feelings. This book was perfect. They were both exactly what the other needed.
“I was just an object to them, a toy to be played with and discarded when I wasn’t all bright and shiny anymore.”
Carly’s story was heartbreaking. Hearing what happened with her father and getting to see first-hand what a piece of trash her mother was made it impossible for you to not root for her. I could not imagine what kind of person I would be if my mother was like hers. At first, I was worried I wasn’t going to like her because of her unwillingness to open up and give in to Chance but as the story went on and we learned more about her I understood the wall she put up. I cannot even talk about everything that happened with her sister. It broke my heart.
“People don’t wait around forever, no matter how strong their feelings. At some point, it just gets too painful to love someone who won’t give you the things you need. If you care about this man at all, make the jump or let him go permanently. It’s not fair to string him along.”
In the beginning besides Chance’s attraction to Carly it seemed like he only wanted her because she was not giving in to all his attempts. As they grew closer it was clear that he was exactly what Carly needed to finally open up and trust someone besides herself. I loved Chance’s character.
“I want you Carly. All of it and I’ll take the moments you’re smiling at me like I’m everything you could ever want along with the moments you lose your shit because you feel me getting too close. I’ll stand here, with you, through all of that as long as you’ll have me and I’ll fight off your demons when they are too big for you to handle, but I’m getting real tired of all the games.”
While we get to see more of the supporting characters as the series goes on, I still wish we got to see more of the relationships with the club members. The club is not as big of a storyline as I am used to with most MC Romance books I have read. Looking at the blurb for book three I am wondering if I even remember hearing either of the main character’s names in either book one or two. If I had not signed up to read the next book I probably would have stopped reading here. Not because I didn’t enjoy the book, but because there was no buildup to want to continue. My rating is based on the story. If I was to rate based on an MC Romance, it would have been a 3 star rating. I can handle them being good guys and not one percenters, but I expect to see some danger and not just from what their women bring to the club.

I very much struggled with this book and a few times was going to give up reading it but I knew it wouldn’t be fair to the Author and I’m not the type of reader to give in . I struggled with Carley’s character she really go on my last nerve the constant back and forth and angsty behaviour didn’t sit well with me I found it irritating to say the least. But that aside the story line picked up and once she finally accepted chance and his love for her I found the book more enjoyable. It was sad towards the end and I admit I shed a tear or two hundred lol. It was heartbreaking what happened to her sister Ivy . I love how the MC rallied around Carley the brotherhood feeling her loss as deeply as she and chance did . I can relate to the continued story line in regards to the domestic violence cases and how the MC help abused women escape their abusers and help give them a fresh start that’s something that I wish could have happened to my mum and us kids when we were little maybe things would have been different for us. But I will continue to keep reading this series because of that subject matter it’s very close to my heart.
This is 2nd book my A.M. Myers I’ve read this week. She didn’t disappoint me! Her works are full of romance, steamy moments and also real characters. They all have traumas that influence them today. It’s how they overcome them and the twisted routes they take that I love. These are full of suspense and most of the time when the real story comes out, I never saw it coming. Definitely finishing this series and hope for even more from this author. Carly’s story and Chance’s unwillingness to give up was truly inspirational. When these guys love, they go all in.- Ciara St. James
Carly is a fun loving girl who is NOT looking for a relationship. Just when a man starts falling, Carly starts running. Until she meets Chance. He won’t let her run. Being pushed together by circumstances our of her control. Carly learns that while Chance looks the part of a rough and tough biker, he is loyal to a fault and has the patience of a saint when it comes to those he loves. Carly lost her father at a young age and grew up with a mother who only knew how to climb the social ladder, divorcing men while emptying their bank accounts. Being constantly shown that true love doesn’t exist Carly would rather stay single and free of all the complications that comes with a relationship. Will she succeed or will Chance worm his way in?
Myers has a way of grabbing you and not letting you go when she writes. I fall in love with her characters every time I open her books. She gives you strong, intelligent and hilarious heroines, and strong, sexy and faithful men. Myers’ books are what every girl dreams about and you will find yourself losing yourself in them.
No freaking lie, I stayed up last night to finish this book. By 3am I finally finished and my pillow was wet with tears. I could NOT for the life of me fall asleep. I started book 3 (Every Breath You Take) and in the first chapter I was in tears again!
These boys have my heart. Every last one of these Devils!
The sisters had depended on each other for as long as they could remember. They loved their aunt who protected them from their mother and her love of money as much as she possibly could but it wasn’t enough. Things had happened that none of the could control. Her way of handling things was to make sure no one got close. He didn’t give her a chance. Hell he wanted her and more than she wold give willingly so he did the only thing he could. These two weren’t meant to be forever. It wasn’t possible. It was all he ever wanted and all she ran full tilt from. It’s a war of wills and she’s as stubborn as they come.
I started this series a while back and realized I had missed a few. This author writes a story that takes you on a ride from one emotion to the next. Why Chance dealt with her and her crazy is beyond my understanding but together they work. It’s not a sweet love story but then her’s usually aren’t. Her characters are flawed and frayed and sometimes you just want to reach out and teach them something, anything. Ah yes and the passion. This author doesn’t shy away from it and while I probably skip a lot of it just be warned it’s there.
Oh. My. Days! This is getting five stars because it kept me on the edge if my seat and pulled at every emotion!
This is book two and some of it runs parallel to book one. Chance is Storm’s best friend and he meets Carly when all the sh!t goes down around Ali and Storm.
Carly has no intention of letting anyone get to close but the chemistry between her and Chance is strong. She has been hurt in the past and when that comes to light, I wanted to join Chance in kicking some a$$! Broke my heart!
Carly is so much stronger than she realises and when some one she loves is in danger, she will stop at nothing to help them….with Chance by her side.
I just love all the characters. Carly tried to fight love but she couldn’t fight chance. Their relationship was intense from the start. I didn’t want to put it down. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Carly doesn’t do relationships, with the attack from her past and the way that her mother treats men, she has no interest and makes it clear when she goes out with someone.
When she drops her friend off home and she saw, Chance she knows there is going to be problems, he makes her feel things that she hasn’t felt in a long time. Although Chance realises that Carly must have something in her past holding her back, he loves her fight against him even though she says she doesn’t want a relationship their chemistry tells him otherwise.
Carly pushes away Chance at every turn and Chance keeps coming back, Chance knows that what he feels with Carly is that once in a lifetime feeling and he’s not going to let it go without a fight. Slowly Deciding to stop fighting the feelings Carly decides that it’s worth giving what she feels with Chance a try. Carly’s biggest fear is once Chance knows about her past that he will leave, although he didn’t run when he met her crazy mother. When her past shows up on her door step, she sees a side to Chance that makes her realise that he does cherish her.
Carly realises that not only is her sister in trouble, but exactly just what extent her mother went to, to keep her wealth. The twist was one I didn’t’ see coming, but I loved the ending with how Carly is still just as stubborn with Chance as she always has been
I have loved each and every one of A.M. Myers’ books so far. She always writes compelling stories with fabulous characters. I was so excited to be able to read a copy of Addicted to Love.
The beginning started off strong and I enjoyed getting to know Carly and her thoughts and feelings. She turned out to be a very complex character, and I loved her sassiness. There was great description used when Carly met Chance. It felt like everything was in slow motion as they checked each other out for the first time. I loved his confident attitude and that fact that Carly couldn’t quite seem to gain control when near him. Their chemistry was already palpable. I couldn’t wait to read more.
The pain of Carly’s past painted quite the picture of why she acted as she did. Her feisty attitude when dealing with Chance was masking a tremendous amount of hurt. I fell more and more in love with him as he patiently worked to peel away her tough exterior. He had gotten under her skin and I was entertained watching her struggle with that.
This book had multiple layers all taking place at once and provided just the right amounts of passion, suspense, and intrigue. It took me on an emotional ride from start to finish and even though Myers attempted to rip my heart out a time or two, I loved every minute of the ride.
This book was incredible and I wish I could give it more than five stars, because it definitely deserved it.
Addicted to Love is the second book in the Bayou Devils MC Series. This book follows Carly and Chance. Can be read as a stand alone.
Carly Mills has spent her life with a protective wall around her heart that no one has been able to breach. Don’t let anyone get close. No falling in love. Heart break at a young age erected this fortress.
Chance Turner is everything that Carly doesn’t even know she needs yet. A bad boy biker may be
just the muscle that she needs to tear her fortress down. Will She let him? Will Chance persist even when Carly pushes him away?
This book is a fast paced page turner complete with all the feels!
“The very first time he looked at me with those Jade colored eyes and smiled, I should have run in the opposite direction.”
Wow, there is a lot packed into this book. It’s a romance, sure – but it’s also a suspense, a story about family (of choice and by blood). There is betrayal and heartbreak and love.
This story is written in a dual point of view with chapters alternating between Chance and Carly. The sex scenes are very “open door” and the romance is swoonworthy.
You do not have to have read the other books in the Bayou Devil’s MC series to enjoy this story.
If you like MC stories, or romance, or erotica, oh heck if you like to read, you will enjoy this book and this author.
Addicted to Love by A.M. Myers
Stars: 5
Let me say that I was excited to read more about these characters since I read the first story in this series. Carly is a survivor who is funny, sassy, loving, and caring. In other words, she is an overall great character. Chance is incredibly sweet and willing to fight for the one he loves. I also like seeing bit of Alison and Logan.
In this second story of the Bayou Devils MC series, A.M. Myers had me laughing, rooting for Carly and Chance, and crying. There are so many emotion inducing scenes in this story. The way that this author brings you into the story and gets you so involved with the character is just fantastic. This is the reason that I loved this book. I would like to warn that this story does dealing with several difficult topics so be mindful.
After reading the first book I had to jump into the second right away and I loved this one just as much!
This was Chance and Carly’s story and both of these character’s BLEW ME AWAY! Chance is now my new book boyfriend and that says something because I rarely add to my list! Carly’s character was powerful. She has endured so much in her life that i was in awe of her strength! Chance was the perfect man for her.
I love the dynamics of this series and how you could be laughing one minute and having your heartstrings pulled at the next. It what keeps you guess and on the edge of your seat until the end!
Addicted to Love is Book 2 in the Bayou Devils MC Series, from author A.M. Myers and my third book from this author, she continues to make these books better every time and she never disappoints with her incredible storylines and captivating characters. I cannot wait to see what other great stories I can read from this author, and what else she will bring to this series.
This book was amazing. It had everything you needed to make this an amazing read that I was unable to put down and had me hooked from the first page. The two characters Carly & Chance in this book were captivating to read and loved everything about them. They both are independent, strong and determined characters that you can’t help but route for in their journey and just hope after all the pain they have faced in their past that can they finally get a HEA.
Chase & Carly have an undeniable connection from the get go. Both of them have a way of getting into a deeper part of the other, and Chase has a great way to break down the walls Carly has built up, but she finds something comforting and safe with Chase.
I was on the edge of my seat wondering when something was going to happen, because you knew it was only a matter of time. It is packed full with suspense, love, romance and action.
We have hot sexy scenes, romantic scenes, heart pounding moments. This book was filled with twists and turns, and things that you never expect to happen.
Another great thing with this book is that it was written in dual POV’s. I love reading it from the characters POV’s as we get to really see their thoughts and feeling from them rather than the other person. I also think it helps connect with a character as you get to understand some of their reasons of their actions!
This is an incredible read that I’m glad I got the chance to read.
Don’t miss this read!
What an amazing read it kept me on my toes throughout with it’s brilliant storyline filled of action, suspense, romance, steamy sex scenes and twist and turns that kept me hooked right til the very end. This is the second novel of the series and the first one isn’t needed to be read first but i would just because it’s just as brilliant as this one. The chemistry between Chance and Carly was unbelievably scorching hot, could feel thier emotions dripping of the pages. I highly enjoyed this novel took me on an amazing emotional journey and i can’t wait yo read more from this author.
Addicted to Love ( Bayou Devils MC Book 2 )
By A.M. Myers
5/5 Stars
A.M. Myers does it yet again… her stories are always deep and complex. But her characters… wow!! One of the things I enjoy most about the characters.. yes, they have a past, a terrible and incredibly painful past. But they always find out they are a lot stronger than they even begin to realize !!
Carly is a strong and independent woman. She has a painful past, she doesn’t ever want to relive again Because of her past she doesn’t do relationships.. ever!! Until Chance… chaos ensues!!
Seriously, this is a must read !! It will have you captivated from beginning to end! Amazing job, A.M. Myers! I can’t wait to read what’s next!
Addicted to Love by AM Myers is book two in the Bayou Devils MC series. Though there is some insight from the first story in the series I believe this book could be a standalone, but in order is always best! Carly is very good with pushing people away and keeping them at a distance. She’s more into casual encounters rather than relationships and makes it know. But sometimes you just can’t shake a bad boy. Chance may be that bad boy but he sure knows just when Carly needs a pick me up. He knows how to read her and break through those castle walls she’s built. I loved their story. They compliment one another well and take it slow when they need to. They are steamy and fun! I liked this story much better than the first in the series. It seemed to flow better and cleaner. Can’t wait to continue reading about these bad, but sweet, fellas!
