Apparently this is the fourth book in this series and I haven’t read any of the others but I did enjoy the way Adam after quitting medical school and all the lies are about to catch up with him he turns to Temple who he admires and thinks she has her life together when in fact she does not. Great story line and characters where wonderful just sorry I missed the other books.

Young Adam is the eldest amongst his siblings, and has always dealt with the notoriety of his family’s fortune as well as the role he’s presumed to uphold. Unsure of who to trust, he knows Tessa isn’t like any of the girls at school and hopes to ask her to the prom. Temple has always been protective of her sister Tessa and knows enough about Adam’s promiscuity. When they run into each other outside a restroom, Adam realizes that Temple may be the one for him. Years later, Adam runs into Temple and the attraction is still there but she is still distant. After a single night of drinking, the two bond and she starts to trust him. Thinking he will help her with her troubles, this would in some form redeem himself while trying to reveal his truth to his parents. Friendship blossoms into a relationship that have the two wanting more than just a simple companionship. Worthy!

Unfortunately I thought this was a standalone and jumped into the middle of the series, which made it difficult to connect all of he people. This is a large clan and I can see how much easier this one would have been to enjoy had I come in from the beginning. Adam shrouded in lies returns home to his sister’s wedding. Time has passed and things he once thought were true now stand out and haunt him and everything he does. It’s not just the lies from while he was away to his family but keeping them after moving forward in a relationship based on lies brings his whole world tumbling. It’s a great read from an author new to me and I probably would have enjoyed it more had I been in from the start. But I do like this author’s style so I may have to go back and catch up and try it over. Now this one is a cliff hanger leading to the next book.
