Mandy’s Immortal Ops series never disappoint, and I never want them to end.
Rurik’s past comes to haunt and save him. Bill and Gus are also major players in this action packed story. This is a fabulous addition to the continuing story of the PSI-ops. Don’t miss this one

She packs a punch
I loved this book so much that I am ready to read it again already! Once again the author has filled the pages with fantastic characters, intense action, swoon worthy romance, and humor galore, creating a fantastic story that I couldn’t put down. I enjoyed how the story unfolded and how everything seemed to work together to bring this grumpy bear to his HEA. The girls characters were perfect and fit right into the rest of the series, and as always, Bill and Gus kept me laughing and intrigued until the very end. This book is a wonderful addition to the series, and I can’t wait to see who finds their own HEA next.
Ok so even though this book says it is #7, with the off shoots and such to this series and the fact that they are interconnected-I don’t really consider it #7. And I would definitely read at least Wheeler’s book before this one, as part of that leads into this one. Although the last quite few are tied into the bigger story ARC that is happening! With that being said, in this one we get Rurik’s story!! Rurik is recovering from being seriously injured by the hybrids sent by The Corporation in an attack against him and his friends. And while he isn’t happy with his new assignment, he is a soldier who follows orders. Even if it’s babysitting a group of women who may have ties to The Corporation. But when he comes face to face with one of the women, his bear takes a decided interest in her. And his life will change forever.
I absolutely loved Rurik’s story!! As usual with this author’s stories, there is definitely laughter involved! We get to see Bill and Gus and their antics are most definitely a part of the story, to a degree that I absolutely loved. Rurik is, of course, the more silent protective male but it was quite funny watching him get all tongue tied when he meets Liberty. I loved their interactions and their back story! I was sucked in right from the start of this story and I definitely didn’t want it to end! But of course, after meeting her roommates-I need stories for them as well! And after that ending? I am hoping they are mates because they would be perfect for each other!! I can’t wait to read the next book!!
This book had so much going on. I loved the humor. Bill and Gus were a added genius. They brought so much wit to scenes. I thought at first Rurik was never going to speak in complete sentences, but when he did Wow and the love scenes were totally hot.
This is the next installment of the PSI story and features our cranky Russian bear shifter Rurik and his Fae mate Liberty. You will see two of our favorite characters Bill and Gus plus others from the past books. This story contains laughter, suspense and sexy scenes. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Rurik Romanov is a Russian Operative for PSI-Ops. He is recovering from injuries inflicted on him previously. Mandy starts his story with a memory of 20 years ago, of his meeting a trio of little girls who have been liberated from The Corporation. He’s never forgotten one of the little girls, and thinks of her often.
In the present day, as his first “light duty” assignment, he is to watch a person of interest. And so, we’re introduced to Liberty. The story is well written with well developed characters, and a continuing storyline from Ms. Roth’s other books. You could read this as a stand-alone, but having the backstory of the other characters will give more understanding and enjoyment. Parts of the book will make you laugh-in my case out loud. An excellent addition to the PSI-Ops world.
I received an ARC from the author through BookSprout, and this is my honest opinion.
Time for our grumpy bears story. Rurik Romanov, Russian Bear Shifter is going through physical therapy to help him recover his strengths after an attack from the Corporation.
He is offered a new assignment, there are some people of interest to watch. Not exactly the type of assignment he wants but it gets him away from the annoying perky therapist. He has some company along with him that keeps him growling and on is very sharp claws, Bill and Gus everyone’s favorite crazy guys. Great way to spend his birthday!
Liberty Mansfield has re-occurring nightmares of the torture she and others received as children, in her dreams she remembers the handsome man who rescued her. She wishes she could find him in her waking hours, just so she can thank him for everything.
The new job it seems is to watch over the beautiful woman who not only has his bear standing up at attention, but also brings back memories of the children being tested on and tortured by the corporation, and one special little girl he remembers fondly.
Someone from Rurik’s past is watching him, they also seem to have an interest in the little firecracker named Liberty. Bill and Gus will have you in stitches in this story, you find yourself loving the antics they get into dragging poor Rurik along for the ride.
Follow the journey as yet another big bad alpha male bites the dust.
This book was much anticipated!!!
Finally we have Rurik on our hands and i have to say that the author once more outdid herself.
The magic to pull us into her world and into her stories was there and once more we came face to face with all out familiar now
faces that we so love and laugh with, cry with, fall in love with.
Action packed as always this book only made me crave more stories , more books ,more of everything!
Absolutely loved it!
This was a great addition to this series. This story of another PSI finding the mate bred specifically for him, it not in a negative way as The Corporation hoped. After the initial chapters the book was a little shaky, it as you continue to read Bill and Gus, as usual, save the story.
What a read this is. Liberty and Rurik have a past but neither connects the dots. Add in Gus and Bill and chaos ensues. This is a fun, hot and twisted tale sure to delight. I loved it except for Bill’s godawful eating habits. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
I read this in one day. Unusually for me but Rurik and Liberty’s story was that good. It is assumed from their first meeting that their lives are meant to be joined but what each must endure is mesmerizing. The plot had all that I look for in Ms. Roth’s books: twists, turns, angst, romantically cute and/or hot moments, a well-timed reference to the US-Russian conflicts of recent times, good character development of the M/F characters, as well as reoccurring appearances of previous characters that added much to this story. I have to say that for most of the book Rurik comes off as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to his heart-felt feelings but that’s kinda what each male of this series is portraited as. As for the villains, Pavel and Olga are perfectly evil in a delicious way with at least one getting caught and dealt with while the other sneaks away for the next story. For this reader, the real hero was Gus, of Ben and Gus fame in this series. Gus’ telepathic ability really saves Liberty’s life by giving her the courage to fully enable her telekinetic strengths. And let’s not forget Ben and his “chicken” references. Ben and his euphonism’s always add laughs meant to embarrass . A tantalizing ending to boot. As Rurik and Liberty can assume from their first contact in the rescue of the children, they will become mates. But first Rurik must get his head out of his ass, read the signs, recognize those for what they mean, and quite hemming and hawing and get the deed done. This review is for the ARC I received via BookFunnel and is given willingly and voluntarily.
Great book, this was actually my first for this series and while I thought I would be behind and not understanding anything, I was quick to catch up and learn to love Rurik and the others. Great read!
This book can be read as a standalone but is much better read as part of the extensive series of the Immortal Ops World. I have enjoyed each and every one including this one. This book catches your emotions, and takes you on a wild ride. I didn’t want to put it down. Mandy M. Roth has the fantastic talent of making her books ones that you can get lost in.

What do you have when an American, a Russian, Uncle Sam and Abraham Lincoln meet at a water hose?
Mystery, betrayal, revenge and an electrifying love story!
I guarantee you won’t see this coming!
Rurik is not a cheery person but he is lovable. He’s a man of few words but brutally honest. There’s two things that he WILL NOT tolerate. Cruelty towards children and a threat to his mate!
Ruriks’ past is coming for him. The mission, break him, destroy him and bring him back at any cost.
Liberty is plagued by a “curse” and terrible nightmares of a childhood she barely remembers. She has tried to find out about her past, about the blue-eyed mysterious man of her dreams, but it’s a dead end.
When the past comes calling on Liberty and her friends, the “Rescue Squad” is there for the save.
Bill and Gus are back baby, and they’ve bought pie!
MANY questions are answered in this one. I was left with my mouth hanging open on some reveals! Mandy always writes about some serious villains and these,,,treacherous!
It all culminated in an ending that had me flicking my reader so fast, the tips of my fingers heated from the friction!
Will the revelations of both of their past break them?
Will her “curse” send him running?
Will his secrets send her running?
Will Bill drive everyone crazy?
Do I recommend this book?
Like Bill said, “I’ll never tell-that many people” ;)!
(And YES, I recommend this book!!)
Audio made this so much better for me. It went from a 4 star read to a 5 star listen. The struggles I had in reading weren’t present and the characters attitude just added to the books. I am pretty sure everyone needs a crazy “dad” in there life. I giggle so much at the antics and it was because the narration was done fabulously and the characters truly came to life! I have included my original review as well.
Original review
I struggled in the beginning of this book, while it all ties back in I just wanted more. No worries though because when “little paw” started throwing people around it definitely improved and held my attention from then on. There’s a lot of humor in this book and I love the way “little paw” and “Boris” are reunited. And daddy dearest was cracking me up! Mandy continues to put out entertaining books because she has such a creative genius to keep readers hooked and entertained! This one is a standalone but there are some tendrils that will continue into the next couples story. Now to see who those lucky two will be!!!
I don’t care how much crap the rest of the teams give Rurik, he’s such a squeezable teddy bear, and a hot one at that! Loved the first few chapters from previous years to get the story started. I was a tad bit bored with the next chapter setting up present day but it quickly turned around. And to say that Wild Bill had a large role in Act of Surveillance is an understatement. The guy was hilarious as always! However, the true story was in Rurik finding his mate and making her his amongst all the evil doings of The Corporation. Highly recommended seventh book in the PSI-Ops series.

Superbly written. Fast paced, action packed, thrilling and sexy – you couldn’t ask for more.
Parts of the story had me laughing so hard I thought I would rupture something. Bill is a riot lol. Totally love these characters, really looking forward to reading more of the series.
I LOVE this book. We get to see a different side of Rurik and learn more about his past. He’s one of my favorite Ops.
As always, Bill had me laughing out loud. Mandy also brought in a few more characters for us to fall in love with and a couple of villains for us to love-to-hate.
Act of Surveillance is another excellent edition to the Immortal Ops/PSI Ops world!
This book reminded me a bit of immortal ops #1 where you know more great stories will be branching off. I was loving the 3 new girls dynamic as much as Peren, Missy, & Melanie.
Liberty is a great new mate & holds her own. I love a book where the main woman is not an annoying damsel in distress. The backstory of how Rurik & Liberty meet was so precious!
Bill & Gus had me holding my side from laughing so hard in this one. I love any book where they’re heavily featured and Bill showing his fatherly side.
What really stood out to me in this book was that the villains were a couple. Definitely a different approach from the other books where the villian is a single man trying to steal the ops mate and held my interest much more.
5 stars & an apple pie rating from me
