No men. It’s exactly what workaholic Lexi Regan needs after a virally famous breakup post. Serially unfortunate in the dating game, she’s seen it all. Players, moochers, all-around losers. Triple check. But one sight she can’t unsee is the model—sans clothes—in her unexpected art class. All it takes is one smirk, one tiny hint of a smile from him, and she remembers why she should avoid sexy men. … men.
Imagine the double-take when she realizes he’s the groomsman opposite her in her cousin’s wedding.
Jack O’Connor has no shortage of admirers, and while casual attention can be fun, it’s quality he fears he’ll never find in a woman. He might be prepared to survive a wedding out of town, but he isn’t ready to face the blushing beauty from the drawing class he’d starred in after losing a bet. Unsure of what to make of the feisty woman now at his side, he’s tempted to learn more about her. The more he learns, the more he hopes that first impressions aren’t the only ones that matter…

Across From You by Amabel Daniels is a fun, romantic read. The story alternates between between Lexi and Jake. Lexi is recovering from a breakup that went viral and has decided she needs a break from relationships. Jake is looking for the right woman despite having a reputation as a Casanova. The two see each other at an art class while Jake is a nude model. Several days later they meet again at a wedding.
The two characters are fun and realistic. I like that both have a good dialogue. Also, who can resist a good looking, intelligent man and a spunky female. This was a fun read that kept me laughing. I will be looking for more from Amabel Daniels in the future.

Across From You by Amabel Daniels is a fantastic Rom-Com read! From the very first chapter I was hooked. Lexi’s personality had me laughing out loud as her inner ramblings went from one thought to another. This book is non stop go, intriguing, funny, entertaining and a true page-turner. It’s the perfect book to read when you need an escape from the real world!
I really enjoyed how well the story flowed, even with the dual POV’s! Amabel wrote with so much detail that made it easy to picture everything playing out in my mind and I feel like I could read about her for hours! I would love to read more about her!
This is a book I would recommend to others and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
Across From You is a fun, romantic standalone novel. Written in alternating points-of-view, we follow Lexi and Jack after they meet during a compromising situation. In your typical tale of miscommunication, hilarity ensues from the very beginning despite Lexi’s obvious embarrassment at recent life events. This book is relatable, funny and just all-around loveable. A must read for any contemporary romance fans!
Lexi Regan is not having much luck. Having been the victim of a horrendous romantic blunder, the last she wants to think about is men. What happens next? She’s faced, literally, with a naked, hot, sexy man during a one-off art class she attends with her best friend. Cue hilarious flirting. I was laughing out loud at Lexi’s mixture of embarrassment and intrigue, which only became more hilarious when we found out her surprising connection to the mystery model. The author timed this miscommunication perfectly, not dragging it on too long so that I got both bored and annoyed. One of my biggest issues with romance reads is when this type of scenario is dragged out for over half of the book; just get on with it! We didn’t have too long to wait until Jack O’Connor is revealed to Lexi which just made things all the more interesting!
Jack is a fantastic male lead. While he has some of the stereotypical traits (a sexy man in uniform is always a win for me), in many ways he isn’t so typical. This made him a really complex character, which is always fun to read. The connection him and Lexi have is both instant and deep, and only strengthens over the course of the book. They had their ups and downs and there were some seriously emotional moments, which rounded off the book perfectly.
Overall, Across From You hits the romance-crave so many of us have. It is not only a really good story, but also packed full of wonderful characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and cannot wait to try more of the author’s work. This will definitely be on my recommendation list!
Across from You by Amabel Daniels is a standalone romantic comedy that I fell in love with from the first page. Following Lexi Regan and Jack O’Connor, you will find yourself smiling and feeling your heart strings being tugged. Lexi is a woman that has been publicly shamed, more than once, and is attempting to hid from the world while she licks her wounds. While she has sworn off men, there is something about Jack that keeps her coming back for him. Jack is at the point in his life where he is looking for love, and willing to do whatever it takes to make Lexi see how good they are together. From the first moment that he met her, he knew that she was the one for him. The banter back and forth between Jack and Lexi really was quite refreshing, making me laugh out loud more than once. The chemistry and shenanigans that these two found themselves in made this story such a treat to read. After everything that happened to Lexi in her past it is going to take Jack everything that he has to get Lexi to trust in his feelings for her. Will he succeed? Will Lexi be willing to trust another man with her heart when she was hurt so badly in the past? Daniels is a newer to me author, having only read one other book of hers in the past, but I am so glad that I picked this one up. If you are looking for a great romance novel that will take your breath away and keep you roped in from beginning to end than this is one that you need to add to your TBR now! I can’t wait to see what is next for Daniels’ readers, cause I am sure it will be great!
This entertaining and fun read held my attention and kept me engaged from start to finish. The author does a great job establishing great characters and a fun plot. The story develops easily and is an enjoyable experience. I am thankful to have been introduced to this author and hope to read more from her.
Across from you by Amabel Daniels a five-star read that will bring a smile to your face. This was a fun and honest and Lexi will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Lexi has a story that follows a journey and as you read you get to see her on that journey and I couldn’t help but feel like a cheerleader at times as I was rooting for her, there was just something about her. Jack was a little different, he had his own story and what I would give to have him in a life drawing class, or just generally naked, the description was that good. I can’t wait to read more from this author, she has a great way of writing that was funny and romantic and left me with that creepy grin on your face while reading, and snorting tea something that shows true funny in my book.
Across From You is a decadent little novel by Amabel Daniels. My first dabble with this author, and it is with delight that I say it was well worth it. It kept me riveted for hours and totally enthralled. Getting to know the way this author writes and the colourfully wacky characters was truly enchanting
Lexi is a workaholic mess of a woman who had me in stitches. She was so quirky and hilarious, I instantly bonded with her. She was a breath of fresh and unique air. She was one of a kind and a privilege to learn about. Jack was a little more reserved and less laid back, but still a pleasure to know. He and Lexi fell slowly and sweetly, and life as they knew it became a memory, and in its place was excitement, mystery and discovering common desires and dreams.
Across From You was an extremely masterful tale that was filled with emotional thrills and adventure. 5 stars.

Across From You is a fabulously funny romantic comedy by Amabel Daniels. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. I love when a book makes me laugh out loud and this book definitely hit that mark. Lexi is truly a strong woman with a wicked sense of humor. After having a really bad day, starting with a public breakup she ends up meeting Jackin unusual circumstances. They have instant chemistry and such fun witty conversations. If you are looking for a quick rom/com, this is the book for you.
I really enjoyed this novel my cheeks hurt due to all the smiling and laughing I’ve been doing while reading this story! I just couldn’t put it down my eyes were glued to the pages. There has been afew moments while reading this novel that I’ve laughed out loud i just couldn’t keep it in so be prepared for that to happen . It definitely leaves a lasting impression even now while writing up this review I’m thinking bout the story which has me smiling like a Cheshire cat! It’s a novel i highly recommend its absolutely brilliant and i can’t wait to sink my teeth into more books from this author!
4.5* Laugh out loud funny!!! I was laughing my way throughout the book!! Loved Lexi, she marched to her own drummer and she was ok with it. She was done with men, especially playboys. She had heard of Jack from her cousin but didn’t think much of him. You know what they say about assuming. Not everything they’ve heard about each other is totally correct.
So what happens when these two are together for the wedding activities? There’s lol times, swooning, getting to know each other and sexy times. Is he just going to be a rebound for her? Is she going to end up being like his ex?
You need to read this and find out!!
Across From You by Amabel Daniels is a cute and hilarious, fun and ridiculous romantic comedy that will have you laughing at the crazy. It did however take me a little bit to get really invested in the story and the characters but once I was, it was funny and entertaining and filled with crazy misadventures and dramas. The premise is different to other stories and that held half the fun. A viral breakup, an art class, a bridezilla, a wedding planner and sorority girls from hell. These are all the ingredients that once pulled together make for one fun adventure.
Funny, funny, funny. This book had me laughing the entire way through. The characters were refreshingly real. Lexi and Jack both deserved to find a soulmate after their previous relationship dramas. It’s entertaining for the reader that they have to encounter the wedding planner from hell while exploring their incredible attraction to each other. I love how the author kept the story on track without a lot of useless filler. I also liked that the steamy scenes were written tastefully. If you’re looking for an easy, fun and entertaining read, don’t miss this one!

An entertaining well written drama filled fun and sexy story. Lexi was publically dumped and it went viral. Her friend convinces her to go to an art class which happen to be a life drawing. The chemistry and connection is there but demied until fate steps in and Jack the sexy model is also part of the bridal party in her cousins wedding. A great hilarious entertaining story having you stumble along hoping that Lexi and Jack can get their HEA.

Across From You by Amabel Daniels was a nice humorous break from her more serious books. She has yet to disappoint me with anything of hers I’ve read. There were some serious laugh out loud moments and I giggled even harder when the visual popped into my head.
Lexi is having a craptastic time in her life. Newly single and humiliated she meets a friend at an art class and it isn’t anything close to what she was expecting.
Jack loses a bet and gets to humiliate himself in front of a group of total strangers. But one catches his eye and she stays on his mind until he sees her again in the most unexpected place.
As much as I like her more serious books, I think she nailed it with this funny story. She had relatable characters, the plot and story kept you interested all the way through wondering what was going to happen next.

This is a cute story about a chance meeting. I really liked Lexi and Jack. Both had great senses of humor. I loved how they met and the second meeting as well. I liked how they were both basically “regular” people. Not glamorous jobs or super rich. There was many things I liked about Lexi. How she is honest, faithful and has a face full of thoughts. She could be anyone. Jack wasn’t as rigid as I would expect being a state trooper. I loved his attitude and that once he decided to go for it he was “all” in. These two seemed “real” in the respect of their jobs and insecurities on their feelings with each other.
My only issue is there is a lot of thinking and rehashing going on in their noggins. Some is okay in my book but repetitive or too much is not my cup of tea. This isn’t my first book by this author. I enjoy her characters and writings style. So I will always look forward to the next book from her.
Across From You by Amabel Daniels is a charming romantic comedy about two people who, despite being determinedly not looking for relationships, find their paths crossing. It’s a story of love and friendship, and is an entertaining and enjoyable read.
Lexi has just been dumped rather dramatically and publicly on social media when the story begins. After such brutal treatment from a man she trusted, she’s wary of getting into anything anytime soon. That doesn’t stop her from rather enjoying the nude model at an art class her best friend has dragged her along to! Lexi is a determined and loveable character, fighting to stay positive for her cousin Bev’s wedding in spite of everything. And Jack – nude model and, conveniently, a friend of Bev’s, is a gentle and warm character.
The story alternates between Lexi and Jack’s perspective each chapter. This works well, as we see them falling in love from both angles. It also lets us see the misunderstandings and assumptions they are making about each other, and get a sense for why they do and say what they do. Both of them are hurting from past relationships, and cautious about trusting someone else.
The drama of Bev’s wedding provides a great backdrop for the story. As well as an excuse for the characters to be together, it pits them against common enemies (tactless bridesmaids, a tyrannical wedding coordinator) and allows for an exploration of love at different stages.
For me, this is a five star read. I really enjoyed it, and was quickly drawn in by the loveable characters and entertaining scenarios. If you’re after something fun and positive, I’d recommend this. I imagine it would be particularly enjoyable to anyone familiar with the stresses of a wedding day!

This is my 3rd book by this author and I absolutely loved it…Seems I fall in love with all of her books, which is why she is definitely on my must read list.
This story had me laughing right from the start and also thinking about where this world is today and how true the circumstance that Lexi finds herself in is.
Lexi attends an art class that was supposed to be all relaxing with her best friend, problem was there was no relaxing during this art class and what happens sets the stage for the rest of the story.
If I had one small problem with this story it would be that I wish it had moved past the wedding sooner than it did, but in saying that I still completely enjoyed every single moment in this book. I laughed, and I definitely got angry a couple times but the end and how the end came to be was awesome…
“You’re that girl who replaced the carrot guy”
That cracked me up and I can not wait to pick up my next read by this author, if you haven’t read any of Miss Daniels books yet, this would be a fantastic place to start.
Loved It!!
The two main characters, Lexi and Jack were wonderful together. Bev, one of the other characters was the icing on the cake.
The book is entertaining, full of humour and exciting sexual tension making it a funny and enjoyable read.

Across From You had an interesting premise. What happens when you are publicly and virally dumped, then meet a new guy posing naked in an art class?
Well for Lexi that is exactly what happens. Her dumping was epic, though the post could have been longer in my opinion, to really give it an emotional gut punch. But still, being fat shamed for being a little bit curvy, yeah not cool. Poor thing is also being constantly badgered by her cousin in preparation for her wedding. Her cousin is a state trooper who happens to have Jack, the man from the art class, as her partner. When a groomsman falls through, he steps up.
*Mild spoilers ahead*
From there, these two try to awkwardly get past everything they’ve heard about the other through Lexi’s cousin and try to become friends. Jack who hasn’t been in a relationship for a long while sees Lexi as someone he wants to take that step with, while she’s swearing off men after her dumping. However, in the kind of two, maybe three weeks that this takes place, they move into relationship territory. Some of the normal, romance trope mix ups happen, leading to a brief separation and then they’re back together again.
Look, if I’m honest, I’ve just been reading some awesome books, so this might need a reread and an edit, because it was good, but it wasn’t spinning my wheels. There was some lovely moments, some super awkward parts and some very funny ones. But I don’t know what it was, but I don’t think I connected with the characters that well. Maybe it was because this super viral dumping ending up being a photo and about three sentences, and it was hyped up a bit. I feel like, yeah it sucks, but it wasn’t as brutal as it could have been. It could have been better to really drive home her feelings on not wanting to get into another relationship for a while. And Jack was portrayed as a manwhore by Lexi’s cousin (despite the opposite being true), but I feel like this could have been dealt with better, especially his reaction. He didn’t outright deny it and explain, for a while he kind of dodged and told her not to believe everything she hears. It was quite frustrating.
So in the end, I don’t know how I feel about this book. So it’s two and a half stars. Not bad, not good. Just somewhere in the middle.
