No men. It’s exactly what workaholic Lexi Regan needs after a virally famous breakup post. Serially unfortunate in the dating game, she’s seen it all. Players, moochers, all-around losers. Triple check. But one sight she can’t unsee is the model—sans clothes—in her unexpected art class. All it takes is one smirk, one tiny hint of a smile from him, and she remembers why she should avoid sexy men. … men.
Imagine the double-take when she realizes he’s the groomsman opposite her in her cousin’s wedding.
Jack O’Connor has no shortage of admirers, and while casual attention can be fun, it’s quality he fears he’ll never find in a woman. He might be prepared to survive a wedding out of town, but he isn’t ready to face the blushing beauty from the drawing class he’d starred in after losing a bet. Unsure of what to make of the feisty woman now at his side, he’s tempted to learn more about her. The more he learns, the more he hopes that first impressions aren’t the only ones that matter…

Across From You – did not disappoint in making me laugh and keeping my attention. Lexi has just been dumped via social media and with hashtags. She is now the “That girl”. Lexi agreed to go to what she thought was a paint night, but is really an art class with her best friend. She gets there, and low and behold there is a guy posing for them this night. She is so very attracted to him, even though she has sworn off men. It appears the model likes her as he keeps smirking at her. Jack is a state trooper, and is asked last minute to be a groomsmen in his partner, Bev’s wedding. He gets to the wedding, and the hot brunette he saw the other night is his partner at the wedding. Lexi can’t believe her eyes when she sees HIM at the wedding. The instant attraction these two had is crazy. Then they have to try to get past what they have heard about each other. They are both very protective of the other one from the get go. Jack keeps helping Lexi out when people try to embarass her by bringing up her recent breakup. You have to read this to see what Jack did for her on their entrance to the wedding reception, and with the one bridesmaid. OMG, I would love to have a Jack in my life! Some thing in here are so funny, I found myself laughing out loud. If you want something light to read, and also a few laughs, I totally suggest you pick this up and read it.
OMG!! ACROSS FROM YOU by Amabel Daniels took me by Surprise and loved every minute of it!! It was hilarious, entertaining and chemistry was off the Charts!! A very Swoon-worthy Romantic page turner and devour it in ONE Sitting since there is So much Suspenseful Surprises!
This is the Second Book I’ve read from Amabel Daniels and definitely didn’t disappoint!! A MUST READ BOOK!!
Lexi is the everyday girl that you don’t always see in a romance, and it was a pleasure to read. Not a size 2, Lexi was just dumped with a hashtag on social media by her now ex just days before her cousin’s wedding.
At a night out with a girlfriend, she takes a drawing class and takes an interest in the nude model, thinking she’ll never see him again.
Jack is a state trooper and happens to be partners with Lexi‘s cousin. With a last minute requirement for an extra groomsman Jack agrees to fill-in. It also just so happens that Jack was the nude model, he lost a bet at the bachelor party, and he was also quite taken with Lexi.
What happens next, is a lot of interesting and quite amusing romcom. Lexi‘s cousin, Bev, has always just assumed that Jack was a heartbreaker. Will Jack’s heartbreaker ways be too much for Lexi? Or is Jack really a heartbreaker after all? Will these to steal the show at the wedding? And will there a mutual love of all things Lord of the Rings lead to actual love and affection?
Oddly enough, the misadventures continue after the wedding. Due to the # dumping, these two can’t quite get their act together, will true love win out?
This is the first book that I’ve read by Amabel Daniels. After reading the blurb, I really had high hopes that this would be a homerun. And while I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it. I liked Lexi and Jack enough, and there were good elements to the plot- I laughed at times, there were awkward moments, too (which I often like). I guess I just didn’t feel as connected to the characters as I like.
I will say, I will keep an eye out and certainly consider other books by this author.
Cute and funny story! I liked that there wasn’t too much angst and it was a quick, fun read. Lexi and Jack had great chemistry and were very likable characters. Really liked this author’s writing style.
Across from You is exactly what I needed right now. Lexi is a victim of today’s newest fear, social media shaming. But her reaction and the way she handles it is with humor and grace. Yes, those two words describe Lexi and her life. Jack has a reputation that he never earned. He just lets people believe what they want. He doesn’t bother setting the record straight since he hasn’t met anyone worth explaining himself to.
Across from You is set entirely in a wedding setting and the scenes of a somewhat bridezilla and crazy bridesmaids had me laughing out loud. Just when you think this story can’t get even more crazy, just wait until after the wedding. I really needed this hilarious and adorable couple.
Lexi has sworn off men after one too many bad experiences. She catches the eye of a male model that is a pleasaosurprise in her art class. Imagine the surprise when they are paired up together at a wedding!
This book is a had great characters that are real and entertaining. This is my first book by this author but will not be my last. The book is a great combination of humor, romance with a dash of drama .
Across From You by Amabel Davis is the first book I have read from this author and I look forward to reading more of her books. This book is Lexi and Jack’s story and their romance has some ups and downs that will make you smile and make you laugh. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great and the story line was entertaining. ( love when a book can have me laughing out loud and keep me turning the pages!!I
Hilarous
This story brings you a lot of laugh out loud moments that I found to be very refreshing!! Lexi was dumped on social media and becomes “that girl”, Jack is a state trooper and is the partner of Lexi’s cousin Bev. They meet in a very unusual way that I’m not going to tell so it doesn’t ruin the fun. Both characters are great and the writing is very descriptive. Easy to read and follow along with the story line.
Lexi and Jack are fun! I liked the light hearted feel of the book. There wasn’t this overwhelming I have to have her can’t live without her vibe.
They got to know one another and flirted and had fun.
The majority of the book takes place just over a few weeks surrounding a wedding.
It was a first read for me by this author and I enjoyed it.
This was a great book! I loved the humor as well as the storyline. I love reading books by Amabel Daniels!
Lexi and jack had a funny “meet-cute” and then find themselves paired up together for her cousin’s wedding. Lexi is fresh off of a humiliating breakup, while Jack is trying to find the perfect woman and is portrayed as a player because he’s a nice guy. There was some humor and a few WTH moments in this story. Overall, it was okay and made for a nice distraction for an hour or two.
Looking for a smile. Across From You has plenty of them wrapped inside. Lexi and Jack are an accident waiting to happen. A connection is inevitable, but will it stick? There’s a laugh around every corner. Daniels sets out to lighten hearts and uplift spirits with a huge amount of humor and heart.
This was a laugh out loud good read. I like to be reading and start laughing out loud and no one knows why. Cant wait for more
Lexi is publically and virally dumped then she meets a guy posing naked in an art class. Talk a about uncomfortable and emotional. Lexi is badgered by her cousin in preparation for her wedding. The cousin happens to be a state trooper who has the guy who posed nude, Jack as her partner. Lexi swears off men, Jack has not been in a good relationship for a long time but Lexi interest him. The start of a relationship but some parts could have been better. Overall I will give a four on this book.
Lexi is the manager of a stuffed toy store and gets dumped on Facebook and it goes viral. This is enough to make her swear off men for a while convinced all men are players. While attending an art class with a friend she encounters a nude male model who keeps her attention and stares at her the entire time. The model is Jack, he lost a bet at a bachelor party and had to pose nude. He has sworn off relationships since his high school sweetheart cheated on him in college but the woman at the art class intrigues him. Jack happens to be a state trooper and partner of Bev, who is Lexi’s cousin. Both are in the wedding and Jack is escorting Lexi and spends the weekend trying to convince her to give him a chance.
These two are a fun couple with lots of humor and tons of chemistry. It was a fun and enjoyable read.
Great book!
We start off with the Lexi Regan who was dumped on social media, and now she is known as ‘that’ girl everywhere she goes. She has sworn off men altogether to avoid jerks because she has seen it all. But what she doesn’t expect to find at her cousin’s wedding is Jack.
Jack O’Connor is a man who doesn’t get to close too any woman just for fun. But when he loses a bet and has to pose nude for an art class he sees a beautiful brunette, but he doesn’t do anything about it. And he doesn’t expect to be the groomsman opposite Lexi, the same woman from that class that he couldn’t keep his eyes off of.
These two people come together in this beautiful story and show us what it is like to feel an instant attraction towards someone and getting over fears and trusting yourself. It’s such a great book and I would read it again and again.
First a word of warning don’t read this book in a public place you will definitely get some strange looks when you burst out laughing from the hilarious misadventures that these two suffer.
Lexi doesn’t think that her life can get much worse she has been dumped on social media and the humiliation has been xtreme then she is conned by a friend to go to an art class and even the male model smirks at her can her life get any worse. Yep it can when she attends her cousins wedding she finds that the male model whose name is Jack is actually stood across from her. She may have signed off on men but a quick fling won’t hurt will it only problem Jack a cop doesn’t want quick he is wanting to do the hard yards. So starts a wonderful story full of banter and one upmanship that will have you rolling with laughter, This is that perfect book for when life is getting you down I guarantee you won’t be down any longer
