No men. It’s exactly what workaholic Lexi Regan needs after a virally famous breakup post. Serially unfortunate in the dating game, she’s seen it all. Players, moochers, all-around losers. Triple check. But one sight she can’t unsee is the model—sans clothes—in her unexpected art class. All it takes is one smirk, one tiny hint of a smile from him, and she remembers why she should avoid sexy men. … men.
Imagine the double-take when she realizes he’s the groomsman opposite her in her cousin’s wedding.
Jack O’Connor has no shortage of admirers, and while casual attention can be fun, it’s quality he fears he’ll never find in a woman. He might be prepared to survive a wedding out of town, but he isn’t ready to face the blushing beauty from the drawing class he’d starred in after losing a bet. Unsure of what to make of the feisty woman now at his side, he’s tempted to learn more about her. The more he learns, the more he hopes that first impressions aren’t the only ones that matter…

Across From You is a hilarious romantic comedy from Amabel Daniels. This book had me laughing from the very first page all the way to the last. Amabel Daniels is a new author to me and after reading this book, I’ll be sure to read more of her work.
Manager of a stuffed toy store, Lexi Regan has sworn off men having just been dumped very publicly on Facebook. Her very public dumping has gone viral and she’s feeling humiliated. Add to this her bridezilla cousin Bev’s upcoming wedding, she’s having a rubbish time. Having been dragged by her friend to an art class, she can’t stop fantasizing about the nude male model they had to draw.
Jack O’Connell, work partner of Bev, had lost a bet at Bev’s fiance’s stag night and as a result had to do a stint as a nude model at an art class. While modelling he couldn’t keep his eye off the gorgeous brunette who was drawing him.
It’s a small world as Lexi and Jack find out as he’s the groomsman who is partnering bridesmaid Lexi at the wedding.
This is a story that proves that first impressions can often be very far from the truth. We find this out in a hilarious way as Jack and Lexi stumble from one mishap to another. I loved both of these characters. Lexi is hilarious. You can’t help but be intrigued as to what is going to come out of her mouth next. Jack is an absolute sweetheart and nothing like the player that Bev has made him out to be.
So if you are looking for a great rom com, I’d definitely recommend that you give ‘Across From You’ a go.
This book was so much fun. It’s the ultimate break-up nightmare, followed by the wedding from hell that results in the perfect happily ever after. Lexi and Jack’s story kept me laughing from the moment it started until I closed the cover. I also love that it played to my inner nerd girl.

I really loved this book. It didn’t start off like any other book ive read before and I was sucked right in.
I loved all the characters and the getting to know them throughout the book. And it taught a good message of not judging someone when you first meet them. Also that you cant let people get you down.
I can’t say enough about this book its a must read to get the whole story. I love this author and her writing. I felt like I was in the story with them.
This author created two characters who are after my own heart. Lexi and Jack were so wonderful together and Bev was the icing on the cake. This book was full of humor and exciting sexual tension. I loved the opening scene where they unexpectedly meet. And I must say that Bev was bit of a demon with the speakerphone. I loved this book. Highly recommend.
I do believe that I am still rolling with laughter from this book. Just sitting here reminiscing my time with the characters as I type this review has me laughing all over again. I loved this rom-com from Amabel Daniels. I have read books from her before, but I have to say this is a strong point for her!
From the get-go things are off to a funny start for Lexi Regan. After a viral and not so pretty breakup she finds herself in another awkward situation when she ends up in an art class with her bestie. She thought it was supposed to be a sip wine and paint a pic by number type thing. She had no idea it was a live model in a stuffy art room situation. She really didn’t expect it to be a handsome guy that had eyes for her either. The big twist comes when the two are thrust together for a weekend at her cousins wedding. Just imagine all the shenanigans! Strap in for one hilarious story.
Toy store supervisor Alexis Regan is taking a break from men after her ex dumps her on social media and the post goes viral. Too bad Lexi can’t stop thinking about the out of this world gorgeous nude model in her friend’s drawing class. Good thing Lexi will never see him again. State trooper Jack O’Connor doesn’t let women get into his head after his ex cheated on him. That is, until Jack volunteers as a nude model after losing a bet and has fantasies of being nude with the blushing beauty who eyes him like she wants to do very naughty things to him. Lexi can’t believe her eyes when she shows up to her cousin Bev’s wedding rehearsal and the groomsman she’s paired with is non other than Jack, the gorgeous nude model. Jack is intrigued by the sassy Lexi but she’s already pegged him as a player. Jack convinces Lexi that they should start over, but can he convince her to give him a chance?
Across From You is a funny, entertaining and drama-filled story that will have you rooting for Lexi and Jack
I love that both “knew” stuff about the other through her cousin that wasn’t true and yet chose to trust each other enough to let go of that and focus on what they learned about the other first-hand.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
A romantic comedy romance story, that is intriguing and entertaining. Characters are remarkably engaging and it is well written. It was a pleasure to read this book.
The first meeting, or rather observing, of each other is highly unique. The story is great and really held this reader’s attention. The storyline itself is very quirky in nature, never mind that the characters are as well. The characterizations are fantastic; they were well developed, believable and some just plain larger than life. The inner dialogue of both the main male and female characters was so convoluted but oh so believable. This story brought many a smile to this reader’s face. Highly entertaining!
I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this novel via Booksprout and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
I absolutely loved this book! The story was hilariously funny, geeky, and sexy. The characters were realistic, very relatable and drew you into the story. The dialogue and banter between the characters will make you laugh out loud. Highly recommend.
This is certainly a really refreshing love story. I can just say oh my how thankful I am not to have any relative like Bev… 🙂 she comes trhough though in the end… 🙂 It is actually kind of really nice to hear the playboy aspect played the other way around, i.e. not being a playboy even though all the women are touchy, feely, and actually doing what today consists as sexual harrassment… At least this story was really fun to read, it had a good story line, good characters, Bev and all … and all in all it was a good story to read in an evening. As this is not the BLURB for the story I am not saying any more here and can only say that I can really recommend this story for all those who love a good love story or a good romance. Hope you enjoy it too!

Amabel Daniels’ Across From You is a fun to read romantic comedy. Start to finish, this was a great book to read and the laughs keep coming. The story line was amusing and the characters out right hilarious. Did I mention funny? I could see these events play out in every day life, that would seriously be my luck. To read it on these pages, it was well written and the author found just the right mixture of comedy to add with the rest of the story to not make it too outlandish and far-fetched. The tension between Jack and Lexi can be felt. I enjoyed the tug and pull of the characters as their relationship. Amabel Daniels is a talented author that can deliver.

Across From You is a hilarious romantic comedy by Amabel Daniels. It has humour, misadventures, funny banter and antics, a sprinkle of drama, and a lot of fun.
Ms. Daniels is on my ‘must read author’s list’. So, when I saw this book, I didn’t hesitate, grabbed myself a copy and dove right in. Compared to her other books that I’ve read, this one seemed a little slower to get going, but then the pace picked up a few chapters in and the story took off from there and flowed much better. From that moment on, I was along for the ride, laughing out loud at what was happening. I really enjoyed getting to know these wonderful characters, as Ms. Daniels creates interesting and well-developed individuals that are so easy to like.
Lexi Regan swore off men after getting dumped via social media and having the post go viral. She doesn’t like being in that kind of spotlight and is determined to take a break from the dating scene. When her best friend Carly wants to drag her out to an art class, Lexi really couldn’t be bothered, but goes anyway just to shut her up. Then she discovers that it’s a ‘life drawing’ class with a live model. She wasn’t expecting that, let along the hunky model who walks in and takes a pose. She can feel his eyes on her constantly and sees the smirk that he tries to hide. That just confirms it that men are all blockheads!
Just when she thinks the worst may be behind her, she finds on the weekend after her art class, that Mr. Hunky Model is also part of the bridal party in her cousins wedding. And what happens next makes for quite a hilarious romp.
An entertaining and light-hearted read.
Thank you, Ms. Daniels!

I really loved this book! It was one of those stories that you can’t help but smile and laugh your whole way through it and I definitely couldn’t put it down. I’ve read a few books by this author now and I really enjoy her writing style, she is able to adapt it well for whatever genre she is writing and I always find her books engaging.
I adored Lexi! She was a brilliant character, one you know if she were real you would totally want to be friends with her. I really felt for her at times but I think what happened to her made her a stronger person, she was definitely sworn off men – well until Jack came along that is and to be fair I think he could make anybody rethink their stance on men!! I thought that they had a great chemistry and I loved the interactions between them, there were definitely some funny moments!
Across From You is probably one of the best rom-com stories that I have read this year and I know that anyone who reads it will not be disappointed!
A fantastic 5 star read and I absolutely look forward to reading more from Amabel Daniels again in the near future.
This was a really fun read that had me laughing out loud all the way through. Jack and Lexi were super characters and I really enjoyed getting to know them you cannot help but feel for Lexi her ex-was just horrible and the way he broke up with her was so mean. This was a really good book and I would recommend it I really enjoyed it.
Holy Schnoly! This is a Delightful RomCom
Thanks to author of Across from You, Amabel Davis, I now know a new phrase, Holy Schnoly! This is just a sample of quirky phrases said by Liz that are peppered throughout the story. She is not perfect but her personality is perfectly delicious. She has parents and a brother who are tops in their medical careers while she is a Manager at the Cuddle Creations store. She tried to follow her family in the medical field but their was a problem…fainted at the sight of blood.
Jack the cop posed nude for an art class and agreed at the last minute to be a groomsman for his partner Bev’s wedding and where he will also meet Liz, formally.
It is the course of the weekend wedding that the majority of the storyline takes place. The dialogue engaged me and kept me reading until the end. The characters were well developed and dynamic. Those who came in and out, like the Maid of Honor not only were a hoot, but gave a shot of emotion that set off an action or reaction.
I’m recommending this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.
I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book.
She has no men in her life as she is a workaholic. She has odd flings but nothing serious. She just remember the make model in her art class. Then she finds him at the wedding. What is she going to do? Will they have a chance of love? See what will happen

Lexi has sworn off men thanks to an asshole ex who dumped her via a social media post that has gone viral. But when the hot nude model from a class she took with her friend is a stand-in groomsman at her cousin’s wedding, she’s suddenly wondering if her no men sabbatical should be broken. Jack is really undeserving of his manwhore reputation. He hasn’t been with a woman in ages, and he can’t help it if women seem to flock to his good looks and sweetheart personality. This hot cop is just looking for the one. Then the wedding where he’s a stand-in groomsman happens. The wedding where he is thrilled to finally meet the gorgeous woman he’d been lusting after during his nude model stint (thanks to a bet he lost). Jack knows that Lexi is the one. Now if he can just convince her to take a break from her no men allowed sabbatical!
I adored Across From You. It’s sweet and witty and Jack and Lexi, especially Jack, are adorable. Sometimes rom-coms are too com and not enough rom, but the author here hits just the right balance between the two. And there’s enough heat generated between these two to give all those steam lovers a thrill. I can’t wait for more from this author.
A great story with Lexi & Jack. This was funny, exciting, and enjoyable. I was totally rooting for Lexi with Jack especially after the way her ex broke up with her and humiliated her on social media. This is a must read !
