“Across Eternity is my favorite read of 2020. Big steps to fill when we’re still in March, but there you have it.”–Amazon Best-Selling Author Maria Luis
The exciting conclusion to Across Time!
Separated from Henri by twenty years, Amelie discovers that what she thought was a weakness may be her greatest strength, and that nothing about her family and her gift is what it seemed. Now, with war on … with war on the horizon and a challenge she never saw coming, Amelie will learn what the prophecy really means for them–herself most of all.
We got lucky once. Will we get lucky again?
His lips press to my head and hold there. “Have faith, little thief. I have a feeling our story isn’t over just yet.”

Whoa!!! This story had me all kinds of emotional and took me for a ride. It’s the second book in the series and the author takes the reader on a series adventure makes us feel exactly what the characters feel because I was hurting when Amelie/Sarah was going through. The first half of the book had my heart shattering, it broke every time Amelie and Henri looked at each other, thought about each other, etc. I wanted to smack a few characters and then fate steps in and finds a way to make things work. The second half my heart was racing and loved that Amelie/Sarah found her strength took things head on but she always knew she could count on Henri. These two were meant for each other and fate makes them jump through so many hoops before it works out. I was in tears, angry, then happy, and finally I felt like I could breathe again at the end. The author really knows how to write a book that sucks you in, connect you to the characters so you’re up all night thinking about them, and definitely makes you feel what the characters are feeling and to me that’s a unicorn author. I don’t want to spoil anything so it may be vague but trust me this diet will take you on a ride you won’t be forgetting at all.
You must read the previous book but even better read the entire series. All parts are related and it will help you understand the entire time travel process better. This is the conclusion of what happens between Henri and Sarah. Sarah goes back to pre-war France and then it become war torn France in the 1940’s. They need to escape France before the Nazi’s arrive. Before this though Marie wants to go see if she can find out what happened to her mother when she jumped in time and never returned. Without giving anything up in spoilers let me say LOTS happens and not much of it is good. This is a very angst filled story that will pull at your heartstrings and have you remember how bad the Jews were treated by the German in WWII. I believe you will be satisfied if not happy with the conclusion of the story too. Read enjoy and have a trip into the past with Sarah.
I thought nothing could surpass the first book in the Across Time Duet, but wow! Across Eternity took my breath away.
The continuation of Henri and Amelie’s love story is so heartbreakingly gorgeous and angstier than you could ever imagine. Amelie is still trapped between worlds, moving through history to not only save the ones she loves in the past but to protect the present and the future. While mysteries are slowly unraveled, I hated the toll it took on Amelie and Henri’s relationship. I still love Henri, but I hate the choices he made sometimes. It made sense to the plot later on, but I was saddened by how much he hurt Amelie. Now his sister Marie-Therese is a selfish idiot and I really didn’t care too much about her. Once you read this story, you will understand my hate for this character.
The Across Time Duet is my favorite duet this year. If you love a bittersweet romance that defies jealousy, hate, war, and time, then I highly recommend this duet.
As soon as I found out about Across Eternity I’ve been counting down the days until it released. It’s been one of my most anticipated reads of 2020 and it did not disappoint! When I read Across Time my book loving heart was forever changed in the best of ways and it’s happened once again with Across Eternity! I absolutely loved it!
Amelie and Henri’s journey is unforgettable from beginning to end! I devoured this installment and I loved how it consumed my thoughts. I felt everything under the sun and I couldn’t control my emotions at times. These characters and their story will forever remain in my heart!
From the realness to the beauty, and everything in between, Ms.O’Roark has left such a big mark on my life with Across Time & Across Eternity! These two books are such breaths of fresh air and utterly addictive! Definitely one of my top reads of 2020!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
This story has just grown to grand proportions. Every one of the books in this series has pulled me in, twisted me around and pushed me face first into the mud. This one was so gut wrenching aching just like Intersect. I just burst into tears at the one pivotal point.
But what a love story! One to span decades. The time travel component is awesome, I’m absolutely loving the paranormal aspect. Sarah and Henri have just gone through more than any couple should have to. Their love pulled all of the emotions out in me. Sarah is quite the spitfire! This has been one of my favorite series over the last year. I just love this series so much.
I absolutely loved Across Time and couldn’t wait to read Across Eternity. But dare I say that this book was even better! Total book hangover alert. There were so many feels, including being completely torn apart and heartbroken, that made it all the more worthwhile to have the happy moments. I’m not going to lie, I had recurring stomach ulcers reading this because there were some seriously angsty or tense situations that stressed me out! Yet, I live for that when I read a book. Whether it was relationship related stuff or the circumstances surrounding the characters that meant life or death or the revelations from the twists. There’s so much that happens that my heart was pounding on overtime, watching Amelie handle one situation from the next and admiring her more and more as the story carried on. She transformed so much compared to the last book that I have a much greater understanding of who she is and who she became. Let’s just say Amelie is a force to be reckoned with. She loves so fiercely and loyally that one should consider themselves lucky to be on the receiving end and the exact opposite for crossing any of her loved ones the wrong way. There’s a lot of things that need to happen in order for the future’s fate to be properly sealed and much of it rests on Amelie’s shoulders (unbeknownst to her). As for Henri, I still love that guy so much because when push comes to shove, he is everything when it truly matters.
Also, I got the answers that I was looking for and am eagerly awaiting for more of the characters from this universe. One of my absolute favorites so far for this year. I could read this book (and the one before) over and over again. Highly recommend this duet and if you haven’t picked up Parallel and Intersect, I would suggest reading those first in order to fully appreciate the gravity of what unfolds in these books.
I can’t remember the last time I read a time travel romance story but I’m certain it wasn’t as good as this one. This story literally had it all wrapped into one brilliant duet. It was so beautiful that I overlooked all the times I had to walk away from my kindle cause it was breaking my heart but it gripped me to a point that I’m sad it ended. I am looking forward to so much more from this author
The conclusion to the duet is finally here. To say that I’ve been waiting for this one is an understatement. I’ve been needing to find out what happened since I finished the first one… in December of last year.
Elizabeth knocked it out of the park, AGAIN! I was invested from the moment I opened the book until the minute I finished, at 2 am. There was no putting it down, no doing anything else, just the book. That is all that mattered.
Henri and Amelie, aka Sarah, were everything. Even when things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go, and I was threatening to throw my kindle across the room, I was still right there. The story hooked me in so deep that I didn’t even realize that I had moved myself from the couch to my bed to finish reading. I was right there as they fought their way through each and every scene.
And that ending. I won’t give anything away because it’s a new release. But I literally closed my kindle and laid there… and just laid there. I couldn’t even function properly after I finished because it broke me in a way that a book hasn’t done before. It was everything I was hoping for and more. My heart broke in a way that I wasn’t ready for and then Elizabeth took it and put it back together… mending it with her words.
If you didn’t know, these books mold the way for Elizabeth’s previous releases Parallel and Intersect. And she did it so beautifully that now I have to go back and read those all over again! I am obsessed!
If you’ve never read any of these books, I would start with Across Time and work through this duet before moving on to Parallel and Intersect.
Five stars for this beautifully written time travel romance that will literally put you on your knees begging for me when it’s all said and done.
Once again, my love for this beautifully written amazingly original story has grown even more!!! I love time travel stories and this Duet is one of my FAVORITES
of ALL TIME in any genre!!
I continue to be completely captivated by Elizabeth O’Roark’s way of weaving an intricate and multi layered compelling plot with interestingly complex characters and finely tuned well researched story development. Kudos Elizabeth!
The unexpected twists and turns, the travel adventures and experiences kept me lured back to a time of history and turmoil for not only the characters but the world as well. I loved Henri and Sarah (Amelie) and their deep connection and love. The angst and mystery continued to keep me on edge and knowing what was to come come would be the end of their story. I knew it was inevitable but I wanted to prolong what was coming as much as I could even though I anticipated it with baited breath!
I’m so glad it concluded in the way that it did!
I cannot recommend this Across Time Duet enough!
“My mouth opens under his and we tangle, mouths and tongues and hands, and he moves me until I’m pressed to the wall and his hand holds me there, pinned like a butterfly, while he takes too. If I’d ever doubted that he might have missed me the way I missed him, I no longer do. It’s in the urgency of his mouth, the pained sounds he makes. His bones, like mine, are hollowed out waiting for this, waiting to be filled again.”
This book! I had several mini heart attacks reading Across Eternity. I can finally breathe now. What an amazing read!
We we’re left with a major cliffhanger in Across Time. Once this landed on my Kindle I couldn’t wait to dive in. This was not an easy read. I felt everything they were feeling. My heart bled when theirs bled. My heart skipped a beat when theirs skipped. My heart swooned when theirs swooned. I love every minute spent with Henri and Amelie. Once again, I’m craving for more.
Every year, I wind up reading a book that emotionally guts me. It’s a book that, when I read the final words, makes me take in a deep breath and take a moment to reset.
I know it’s only April, but this book is going to be THE book for me this year. THE book that will stick with me. THE book that I will come back to and read more than once. THE book that I would rate 10 stars if I could.
I’ve been anxiously anticipating this book for weeks – and now that I’ve finally been able to read it, I’m struggling to come up with the right words to convey how it truly made me feel. This is the first book I’ve read in awhile that had me holding my breath with almost every turn of the page. There were moments where I wanted to scream, moments where I wanted to cry (and I actually did cry at the end), moments where the words hit me so deep that I had to take a moment to really feel them.
Sarah and Henri literally go to hell and back to be together. The action, the twists, the near-misses (and not-so-near-misses)…it seriously left me feeling raw for awhile after I finished it.
This will forever be one of my favorite duets. I thought the author’s duet series I read last year was good…and it was one of my top five reads of 2019…but no. This one tops that one.
Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. It’s worth the ride. Thank you so much to the author for an advanced copy; now I’m going to go swoon and cry and sulk over what I just read. And then read it again.
Across Eternity took my heart on the wildest ride of emotions. I was everything from heartbroken to angry to just so happy my heart could burst!
I absolutely loved how this book brought things together from all three previous books. I loved that we are able to understand Amelie as a character, understand her mind and even better understand events that happened in Parallel and Intersect. I didn’t expect to love her as much as I did. She is such a strong heroine, and definitely one of my favorites of all time.
It was so well researched, I truly felt like I was in WW2 France, and the story was just action packed from start to finish.
I just gobbled it up, I couldn’t read it fast enough!
I could go on and on forever about how much I loved this book.
Just read it. Run Grab Across Time and start your amazing journey with Amelie and Henri
I am blown away by Elizabeth O’Roark’s ability to weave together the past, present and future so damn seamlessly the way she did with Across Eternity. This well-written and masterful conclusion to the Across Time duet takes what we thought we knew about Sarah, Henri and Marie and literally turns it on its head.
As I started to devour this story page by page, I had to pay close attention and truly take my time. A boatload of info is always there for the taking and I found myself highlighting many passages and names, knowing they were bound to show up at some point later on. And I wasn’t wrong! As the scenery changes right off the bat, with Sarah and Marie seemingly having been taken hostage along with other time travelers, there are clues thrown out here and there as to Sarah’s lineage and the path she may have to alter over and over again. These scenes were hard to read and had me cringing with the brutality these women had to endure.
What comes out to me more often than not in this story, is the sacrifices that Sarah makes for not only her own future family but the prophecy deemed to her family, one of the original four, in order to make the world a safer place. There are still many unanswered questions I have wrt these four families and their origins that is just touched upon slightly in this book. I found it more than interesting that Cecelia becomes a sort of guide to Sarah in her grueling journey to keep her beloved Henri safe and those who have come to depend on her. Their relationship is a beautiful one with the present day Cecelia knowing just where Sarah’s life will lead her before it happens. I wouldn’t mind getting Cecelia’s full story as well. There is more than meets the eye with this wonderfully wise woman.
O’Roark uses the backdrop of the impending WWII as the reasons for the desperation Sarah feels to not only get her loved ones to safety but to find a way to prevent certain events from happening in the not so distant future. Again, there is a ton of information to digest and I purposefully put this book down many times over the course of a few days in order for everything to settle before I started up again. A story such as this needs to be savored in order to try to keep everything revealed in some semblance of order.
Throughout this entire duet, the unexpected yet certainly written somewhere in the stars kind of love between Henri and Sarah is clearly at the crux of it all. The all-consuming reasons as to why Sarah does what she needs to, time traveling when she doesn’t want to and trying her hardest to prevent events from happening, sometimes with little or no luck. Henri is the man of her dreams (both literally and figuratively) and she’ll stop at nothing to make sure that somewhere in the cosmos that she might have a chance to be with him now and forever. I just loved their witty banter, their devotion to one another and the glorious lust between them that never wanes, no matter what. Henri is a man who won’t let anything get in his way if he has a say, from taking his woman and enjoying her body and soul completely.
Across Eternity, along with Across Time is a hard book to review. I didn’t want this to come across like a book report and doing so would not only ruin the experience for the reader but it would cheapen the story imo. This truly is a tale that must be appreciated by each reader individually, having all those OMG moments (and there are plenty for the taking) for themselves. I honestly can’t recommend this book and it’s mate more, loving the way O’Roark meticulously wrote such a beautiful story with the feels I crave, tenfold.
Simply outstanding, I happily give Across Eternity a huge 5+ stars!
“Have faith, little thief. I have a feeling our story isn’t over just yet.” -Henri.
After finishing Across Time (book 1) I was super excited to jump into Across Eternity especially after the cliffhanger ending in book 1.
I have to say in all honesty this is one of THE BEST time travel romances I have ever read. Elizabeth’s ability you weave past, present and future is BRILLIANT and this duet was written incredibly well.
This book is a spinoff of the Intersect duet and even though it’s not necessarily needed for you to read that duet but it is recommended in order to for the reader to get a full picture of how these characters interconnect.
Heartbreakingly poignant.
This series has just been beyond my expectations. This is Book 2 of the Across Time duet but part of the overall reaching Parallel series which is SO excellent.
You will definitely be in love with Henri and Sarah/Amelie’s story. This has so many twists to it and turns – paranormal, romance, historic significance, drama, betrayal. These two have a love that spans decades and beyond.
For the first 40% of the book – I was in tears. Oh my – what these two go through – so much more than Book 1. And the tears didn’t end there – true heart-wrenching moments. It was hard to put down, but at times I had to in order to catch my breath.
“There is a moment…when a certain light enters his eyes at the sight of me. As if he’s forgotten about our time apart, forgotten what he’s done. And I understand it because there’s a moment, when I first see him, that I forget too. And then I have to live through the hurt all over again as I remember.”
This series is beyond compare and this book brings this epic love affair full circle. Oh my heart – it needs time to recover!
I voluntarily requested, read, and seriously cried while reading this uncorrected advance reader copy.
Across Eternity is one of my most anticipated for 2020… I couldn’t wait to read the conclusion to Henri and Amelie’s story and it was so much MORE than I expected. I am blown away by O’Roark’s talent and writing.
Across Eternity takes on Henri and Amelie’s journey as they try to find their way back to one another through a time of war, all the while trying to protect their loved ones and learning what the prophecy means to them.
I’ll be honest that I had such high anxiety and my stomach was in knots for basically the entire read… I was heartbroken and sad, I was sitting on the edge of my seat fearful of turning the page and finding out what would happen but also anxious to know what would become of these characters I have come to love so much. And while there was some tears, I also felt that hope that love would overcome and that everything that was meant to be would happen.
Across Time is a reminder to live life to the fullest, to be appreciative of family and loved ones and the things that are most dear to you and to remember that time is fleeting… you can’t control or change your future but you can love your life and be grateful for all the things in it.
I am in awe of this author and I am especially in love with this series… I hope with my heart that there will be more. <3
I so enjoyed the journey of He R.I. and Sarah! Their love lasts for an eternity. Highly recommend both the first and second. Book!
