Rylee and Colton’s ride continues…
One moment. Six years ago.
The night she made the world around me so much more than just a blur. Now it’s the catalyst that threatens to tear us apart.
Our happily was supposed to be ever after. So why do I feel like it’s slipping through my fingers?
How can one moment, when our world seemed so right, resurface and cause our perfect life to spiral out of … right, resurface and cause our perfect life to spiral out of control?
I can’t lose her.
She’s my checkered flag.

Review:
This book! My poor heart. Poor Riley and Colton. If you think they went through enough in the other books, you haven’t seen this one yet. Kristy really pulls them through the wringer.
What is this book about:
This book is set a few years after Crashed. Colton and Rylee are happily married. They build a life for themselves and really grew as a couple.
They are suppose to live their happily ever after in piece. But that wasn’t the case. Someone has it out for Colton and Rylee and that person isn’t wasn’t letting the issue go. They’d go to any length to get revenge. Their idea, destroy Rylee to get to Colton. And that’s exactly what they did…
Will Colton and Rylee survive another mountain in their path or is this hurdle to big for them to overcome
What did I like about this book:
I liked seeing more of Colton, Rylee, Becket and Haddie. I loved seeing them grow and just to see them again.
I loved that this book made me feel. It made me feel so many things, happiness, excitement, anxiety, many things.
This book is so so good. It saw some things coming but other things I did not.

5 Amazing Stars
What a way to end this great series. It was wonderful. I loved it. It had so much emotion, and it stayed so true to the characters, and their story. I definitely recommend this book, this amazing series, and this author. It is a must read series.
Audio Review from 2018
I loved reading about their life before the epilogue of the third book and seeing how they got to that ending of joy they rightly deserve.
Their relationship went through hell and back and it was nice to see them getting to live a happy life but not necessarily entirely a blanket “happily ever after” just an everyday happy.
Highly recommend this story for any Driven fans.
Tatiana and Sean did a great job narrating this story!
Must read series
Only recommend this book if you love Rylee & Colton. Only because I unfortunately struggled to finish this book. I enjoyed it but I wasn’t addicted. I felt like it was a repeat of the past story lines.
Aced takes place 6 years later (in between the last chapter & the amazing epilogue of Crashed.) Rylee is battling PPD and is in complete denial. Colton is struggling with what he sees Rylee going through and how to help her. He is battling his own demons from his childhood but steps up to take care of the baby and Rylee as best as he can. I know all too well that just recognizing the signs of PPD within yourself is not an easy task, much less accepting & admitting that you have it and need help. It’s a hellacious roller coaster ride but it is treatable with help from your doctor, your support system, a lot of love, patience & grace with yourself as well as time. God this book, it will grab your heart and squeeze and not let go. It hit me straight in my feels and had me laughing, crying, mad, and swooning all at the same time. Tatiana Sokolov & Sean Crisden are fabulous narrators and voice artists. I truly enjoy listening to them narrating the Driven series thus far.
It was nice to have more of Rylee and Colton. Their love story is truly magical and well deserved after everything they went through. Little Ace & Zander are super special as well.
It was wonderful rereading this amazing series and a great way to start of my year of reading. This whole series was amazing once again!
You are finally blessed with the conclusion to Colton and Rylee. If you’ve made it this far then you know that you have been though the ringer with this story. Great books, great writing, I learned very quickly why this is becoming a movie!
Rylee and Colton are about to have the thing they never thought was possible but a monster from the past threatens in all. I really loved the accurate portrayal of Post Partum Depression in this book. No one talks about it and how soul crushing it can be and how much support a woman needs to come back from it. This book ends the gorgeous love
Kristy blessed us with another book of our favorite characters Rylee & Colton. This book is 6 years after where Crashed ended (before the epilogues). Like all the other books, this one is also an emotional rollercoaster. Rylee & Colton have been trough a lot in those 4 books so I am glad they got their happy ending! And what a wonderful ending it is. Thank you Kristy.
OMG I needed a big drink after finishing this book. It finally finishes the story between Colton and Rylee. They have both been through the worse life has
to offer and together they have built a new life with love and family.
“I love you.” Her voice is soft as her lips move against mine, and something about her tone makes my heart beat a bit faster. “Like head-over-heels, butterflies-in-my-stomach kind of love you . . . that’s all.”
Her words dig deep down into the places that rarely get paid attention to these days: the goddamn abyss where the demons from my childhood live. The ones that used to rule my life until Rylee came along using her fucking perfection and selfless love to help brighten that darkness, and chase away the doubt that occasionally rears its bitch of an ugly head.”
Aced is a spellbinding story of true everlasting love. It all started with Driven. A slow build-up of passion, love and trust that went on in Fueled, Crashed and bled itself so powerfully and poignantly in Aced.
This book, the whole series grabs you in its clutches and doesn’t let go even after it is finished. There is something so attractive about Rylee and Colton you can’t help but not getting sucked into their story.
“All I know is completeness.
All I want is forever with him.
My husband.
My rock.
My piece of peace.
My memory maker.
My happily ever after.”
Reading Aced was like going a full circle. It felt like coming home to two of my absolute favourite character and getting along like no time had passed. What I love the most about this series is how tragically ‘bent’ Colton was. His transformation over the trilogy was such an amazing experience.
But you know what is the best part? That even after all this time, Colton accepted his past and who he is and the love he and Rylee share, he still is the same person he was when I started the book! His need for reassurance and the doubt that surfaces are what makes him true to who he is.
Since it is Colton and Rylee you know you can’t expect just rainbows and sunshine. When everything is good they are amazing but when they are at their lowest is when they are DYNAMIC! Because, it isn’t the highs that count, it is easy to have support when everything is good. It is when you are at the lowest of your lows when you know the true strength of a relationship. This is what this story is about. Both Colton and Rylee hit rock bottom and it was then their love, support and trust for each other shined the most.
It was their true selves that came out when everything in life was wrong.
Kristy is a master at writing scenes that grip your heart and she delivered it to the best in this book. The trials and tribulations were heartbreaking and challenging and the emotion was running so high throughout the book and it was so easy to get sucked into it!
It was Colton who shined through this book. I saw a side of him that I never thought I would see. He was responsible and strong. And yes, he was scared but he handled all of the hurdles so well. He never lost sight of the checkered flag that was waiting for him outside the long tunnel.
The man I met in Driven, Fueled and Crashed is a far cry from the man I met in this book. He was dedicated, hands-on, loving, supporting, the rock of the Donovan family when everything was crumbling around him.
I was ‘Driven’ to read this book and it ‘Fueled’ my need to keep going. I ‘Crashed’ into and ‘Raced’ this love story. The wait was a ‘Slow Burn’ and the ‘Sweet Ache’ of the anticipation of this book made me dance to the ‘Hard Beat’ of its rhythm. When the wait was finally over… It definitely ‘Aced’ across the stadium leaving a piece behind with me.
5 Stars!
Oh how I missed Colton and Rylee! Loved reading this book so much, it was like they never were gone 🙂 The story takes you a couple years after they married and how the author told this new part just made you love them more. And those boys, just so much love. I had tears in my eyes reading the story and the things they went through, it was heartbreaking at times. This is another hit in the driven series I have come to love so much. Definitely worth the read.
Aced is the 4th book centred on Colton and Rylee and is set approximately 6 years after Crashed and prior to the double epilogue at the end of crashed (which is set approximately 10 years on).
I loved reading how Colton and Rylee’s relationship has changed & matured, yet has stayed the same in all the ways that matter to us as readers. Colton has developed into the man Rylee saw all along and it was brilliant to read about. Overall I thought that Aced was a fantastic add on to the main driven trilogy full of the lust and raw attraction we expect between these two, alongside love, honour, devotion, heartache, gut wrenching sadness, anger, emptiness and all the pieces to make them whole again. Brilliant!
(3.25 stars)
I love Colton Danavan as much as the next gal and was sad that throughout the book I had to keep asking myself if I was getting anything out of it. I felt like most of the book revolved around issues that would’ve faired better as secondary storylines. Unfortunately, the moment that I believe Colton had been working towards the entire series was quick and a huge let down.
So when I first read the Driven series I refused to read this book because I was worried about what Colton and Rylee were going to have to face. I loved these characters so much that I just wanted them to get that happily ever. They had fought through so much already. However, I got a friend hooked on Driven and she convinced me to read this one. I’m so glad she did. It was amazing.
Bromberg took these two characters that I completely love and gave us another side of each of them completely. You get to see Rylee fall this time and Colton pick her up and save her for a change. I feel like in the rest of the books Rylee is always saving Colton but this time we got to see that Colton is a knight in shining armor. He saves Rylee and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.
K. Bromberg A’s it!
This was a great story during their long term relationship and marriage. The emotional ride it gave me was wonderful. I love the reality of their struggles and how time and time again their love was soo real so strong to overcome their problems together. They are each others light.
I love Colton & Rylee!
Holy wow!!! I read the whole driven series and I would absolutely recommend it!! I totally had a book hangover. I loved it and look forward to the tv series. Thank you K!
Oh my word, it’s great to be back with Rylee and Colton. Man oh man does marriage look good on Colton. Don’t even get me started on him holding a baby. Gah! There are so many beautiful moments in this book, not only between the both of them, but with other family members as well. There were a couple of times that water gathered in my eye, just a little. The boys, the I’m game, both parents being so proud of both of them. I could go on and on. *sniff*
Marriage is hard. It’s a lot of work and not everything is unicorns running on rainbows. I loved reading how far they’ve come with one another. Their connection is so strong. Ack! Such a phenomenal book!
“I know there’s nothing I would ever change because he’s here, he’s mine, and no matter what life throws at us, he’ll be here for me. He’s protected me. Put me first. Made me consequential. Made me whole. With every beautifully scarred, bent piece of him.” *girly sigh*
Thank you so much for their story. It was one hell of a ride.
