Welcome to Pecan Valley, where the town may be small but the townspeople will always lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. Where good times, good humor, and good people will always lead to happily ever after. Life for Felicity, and her teen children, is finally back on track. After her divorce, she wasn’t sure if her sweet family would ever be the same. But things are good––right up until … good––right up until her ex’s spirited toddler lands on Felicity’s doorstep. If the universe is going to throw lemons at her, thank God she has her best friend, Graham, to help her make lemonade out of them. How did she never notice how kind and sexy he is?
Graham is still recovering from his wife’s death years ago and trying to help his teen daughter get her life together. Who is he kidding? His daughter hates him. Forget lemons––he’s got the entire lemon tree. So when Felicity suggests they join forces and help each other, he’s all in. And suddenly he can’t stop thinking about her as more than just a friend. Too bad their timing couldn’t be worse…
Because life rarely goes as planned. Luckily there are many different kinds of family to hold you together and lift you up…plus maybe even a little love between friends.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book from Sasha Summers but not my last. This was an incredibly powerful story of loss and family. The characters are well developed and believable. Quick, easy read. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!
From the very start of Accidentally Family your heart strings are tugged. I loved this book. The emotions and love shared in this book just get you where it counts. You feel for Felicity and her children. I love how strong Felicity comes when facing taking in her ex husbands toddler. You feel for Nick and Honor and the changes they are facing from left behind to finding first love. Felicity’s sister Charity is spirited and exactly what Felicity needs when things get a heavy. You will swoon for Graham. The slow burn between Graham and Felicity is amazing as they rekindle their friendship. Adding in Graham’s troubled daughter Diana into the mix Felicity is just wonderful with her. I love how they all come together and lift each other up and step in when needed. This book will hold your heart all the way through. The love, the humor, the tragedy and those teen angst moments just fill the pages and suck you in. I couldn’t put this one down. As my first book by Sasha Summers I am looking forward to one clicking more of her work.
Accidentally Family is the first book by this author that I have read. I found this book to be a wonderful story that shows just how different families can be, and how sometimes family isn’t just about blood relations. Family can be what you make it to be. Felicity is pretty much the bond that brings everyone else together and Graham and his daughter help to make it complete. I would love to see some of the other characters in the story get their own books. That would be a series worth reading.
An unusual plot. Very well written. It compelled you to keep turning the pages to see what happens.
Very enjoyable book with interesting characters. Good read.
I sincerely enjoyed this book. Everything worked out in the end, a little too easily perhaps, but I enjoyed it all the same.
I don’t know what to say about this book. I finished it, but found most of the characters to be totally unlikeable. The teens were some of the most self-centered, selfish on I’ve encountered. The adults enabled & let them get away with it, saying they had been through so much. Yes, the teens had all lost a parent, but their parents had also lost a spouse. Not even extended family ever confronted them for their behavior and reminded them their surviving parent was also hurting. As a family therapist and a child development specialist, I couldn’t believe that the adults—even the police chief—just patted them on the head and overlooked their underage drinking, drug use, destructive behavior. As I said, I finished the book, but I think it was to see if any adult character EVER acted like a responsible parent and not an enabler.
This book presents a unique story. Not the typical romance or family drama.
Romantic and fun to read. Not quite what I expected when I read the blurb. But it still was entertaining. I didn’t like all the POV changes. But still a good book.
This was a novel that BOUGHT THE FEELS. Not like sobbing, but it did bring your heart to the forefront. It also has all the love to wrap you in a hug from the start. I love reads that pull at my heart a little.
This is a beautiful story of love and heartache. Relatable attracters and a plot line that you find yourself immersed in. This is a realistic read that you find yourself lost in once you start. It will pull at your heart and you are going to fall HARD for these characters once you tart and at the end it is a beautiful story that you are better for reading. This is not a high drama read but it is an emotional one that you will enjoy from the very start.
I fell in love with this family. I’m so looking forward to more books!
Felicity has had many hits and they keep on coming. Her kids are her life. She lives in a town where her family gathers around them, but they are needy unto themselves. She wants to stop living in the past and move on.
Graham knows he must learn to live in the now. It is hard when you have a child who cannot seem to forigve you your foibles. With this new attraction to an old friend, can he discover what it means to make a new family?
This story had some great characters. My issue with this book was that they were all presernt and accounted for. The whole town, all the famlies, and it felt more than full it felt like a bucket overflowing. The story itself moved at a fast pace. It was just a struggle to keep up where maybe some of the storylines would have been best in their own book.

Absolutely stunning family-focused romance!
Make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand for this slice of heartbreaking family life packaged inside a swoony, life-affirming romance. The setting is a charming small town in Texas, with all the assorted community assets in full splendor. In addition to the breathtaking love story between Felicity and Graham, we also get to know several other couples-in-the-making. Each of these side stories is delightful and, I hope, a prelude to future stories from this author.
The writing here is simply sublime. When Nick and Jack finally met, the way that little boy reacted to seeing his brother just melted my heart! I cried real tears and had to stop reading to absorb it all. The authenticity of the teenagers is pure genius, and the budding romance between Honor and Owen was so powerful, even in its infancy. The author gave us third-person omniscient POVs from all the main characters, resulting in a deep realism and emotional sincerity that is rarely seen. Understanding the teenagers from both their and their parents’ viewpoints was absolutely brilliant.
Reading this felt like I was walking through the family tragedy and triumph together with these people. It’s a rare book that can make fictional characters come alive so well. This is literary perfection, a romance with a family drama that fills every longing of the heart. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Holy swoon!! This is sexy small town romance at its finest. I loved the characters in this book. The story was written exceptionally well. Great story that kept the pages turning and hours of reading pleasure. An entertaining story that you will love. If you love a romance story that has humour, sexy and sweet moments, banter and two wonderful characters that are just meant for each other, then you want to read this book. Happy reading everyone!!
I want to live in Pecan Valley!
Felicity Otto-Buchanan thought Matt Buchanan, her ex-husband had missed their daughter’s graduation like he had missed so many of their kids activities but finding out about the car accident was more than she wanted to deal with but when he died along with his new girlfriend that he left her for leaving her to raise their little boy. Dr. Graham Murphy had let his friendship with Felicity’s family go by the wayside after his wife died and he was left to raise their daughter but raising an angry teenage girl was beyond his capabilities.
Graham and Felicity decide to help each other out figure out how to deal with their families and everything with raising kids and they figure out that they aren’t to old to fall in love again even when some of their family doesn’t agree.
I loved Accidentally Family because it is makes it is the perfect friends-to-lovers romance and it leads to more stories about all the people that live in Pecan Valley. I hope the first book is about Charity and Braden!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Accidental Family by Sasha Summers a heart-warming five-star read. This was my first read by this author, but I really enjoyed the style of writing and will be going back to read more. This was such a multi-layered story; each character plays a different part of the story and adds a different aspect. Felicity could have been worn down and despaired, but she was not, she was so much more, anyone else in her situation would be. But she wasn’t the character that I felt most for in this story, that honour went to Nick, he left me in wonder, I am hopeful that we will hear more from this accidental family, as there is so much more I would love to hear.
It’s a pretty emotional book on dealing with betrayal and trying to cope with your new life after some serious changes. We meet Felicity whose husband leaves her for someone younger and now she is raising her children alone and then taking on your ex’s child, she was good. Her husband former bestie Graham is now also trying to cope raising his daughter who is having issues dealing with her moms death. lots of feels my friends.
