A good old fashioned historical romance.
I particularly enjoyed the lead female character. She was strong and realistic. She made the story unique.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I loved it.
This is my first read by this author and will not be my last. I really loved the main characters, Adeline and Edmond. I loved the story. I loved the secondary characters. I loved the slow building, steamy romance. Realize some reviews aren’t as positive as mine, but this author and work hit the right buttons for me.
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down and best I have read in awhile. She is unhappy and not being treated very well at home. Not to mention the man her dad wants her to marry. She does something on impulse and ends up not where she expected. He has a lot of pain and sorrow. He needs her for one thing. Not sex. It is enjoyable to watch these two grow in many ways. It is exciting, suspenseful, funny, hot, emotional and so much more. I can’t afford to buy anymore of them. But I do recommend them.
Fun to read, interesting and funny.
Be carful what you wish for – because you just might get it, and love it!
Fairly predictable, but I did enjoy reading it.
Easy to read. Loved the characters. Liked sequels also.
Sizzling and steamy! Adel fights for her destiny; first from control of a social-climbing stepmother, then from a maddeningly distant duke. In two days she sees her life go from comfortable-but-boring (if she can compromise the Darcy-like Mr Atwood into saving her from a forced marriage to her would-be rapist), then she finds herself inexplicably wed to the dark and brooding Duke of Wolverstone. He expects a mild-mannemild-mannered spinster he can keep at arms-length, but she won’t settle for less than his heart. Sparks fly!
Honestly I loved it…couldn’t put it down… well I’ll just tell you I read it over the weekend and didn’t get much else done. I really hated for it to end. It is definitely a wonderful read!
I found it to be a good light read. I didn’t see as many of the typical plot twists although there are some. That goes with these type books.
I think this might have been the first Stacy Reid book I have read. And I throughly enjoyed it. I even bought the 3rd book in this series. Once again terrific read.
Great book.
Excellent read. Enjoying the series.
Stacy Reid is my new go-to author. I will start looking for her new releases.

Cute and easy to read
