I really enjoyed reading this story, especially the second half. Both of the characters were mature in their 40s, married for a long time and probably taking each other for granted. He was pretty self absorbed, they both had careers and yet she did everything else around the house and with the kids. Their relationship is crumbling but he’s in denial and needed a wake up call.
You know that line from “Friends”, ” we were on a break” that’s what came to mind when he had a drunken moment. I enjoyed more so from there after, he knew what he had to do and how to make it right. It wasn’t without set backs though, she was hurt and it just was not ok.
Plenty of high and low moments in this book, I really enjoyed it.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Mac and Angie feel like their marriage was coming to an end. Mac did not want a divorce, he looked into what he can do. It was worth reading.

After twenty years of marriage, is it possible to still feel the passion and the attraction that started it all?
Life has a way of separating couples as obstacles arise and daily responsibilities erode the intimacy and care they once used to give each other. It is easy to inadvertently switch priorities as each spouse is focusing on their career, the children and the unending bills to be paid. At the end of the day, exhaustion drives both to sleep and the intimate bond they once felt so strongly suffers.
Feeling neglected, Angie realises she must do something to change her life of unhappiness. Divorce sounds like the easy answer. Only those who have gone through it can really appreciate how hard it is to break up a marriage into which both of you have poured your efforts to succeed. Even if you do not love each other any more, separating and destroying the relationship still takes its toll.
Mac is bound and determined not to lose his wife. First of all, he must explore his feelings and reconstruct the last years of his marriage in his mind. Then, he must determine what went wrong and if there is anything he can do to save their relationship. And most of all, is it worth the extra effort?
I highly recommend this book to all of you who have been married for a while and find yourselves in Angie’s predicament. Actually, those of you who have recently entered into a relationship would benefit from reading this book too. I know you hear this all the time… “marriage takes work and effort from both partners”. Believe me when I say this is very true and one of the biggest reasons why so many marriages end in divorce.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
This was an ok read. There were parts that felt slow and dragged on but all in all an ok read.
Angie and Mac’s story is a must read!! It shows what can happen in a marriage if you both do not talk to each other and are there when the other person needs you to be. A very good story that I would say read I don’t think you will be disappointed that you did. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Angie and Mac really should be living in bliss. Happily married, healthy children, fulfilling careers. But Angie has been far from satisfied or soem time. And Mac…well he’s stressed too but when their life together begins to unravel he is not as ready to call time on their marriage as you might think.
Mac truly loves Angie. They suffer from a real lack of communication, both harbouring resentments and unfulfilled needs. Mac could so easily fall into the usual trappings of mid-life crisis but what I love about this book is that neither WANT to be apart, they just don’t see a way of both getting what they want without compromising too much of what they see that THEY need.
Mac and Angie truly deserve to be happy and I’m so happy to have been on their tumultuous journey with them!
I absolutely loved reading this book.
It was so real world and became addictive.
Reading about what Angie and Mac went through in their relationship was hard at times but so real life that I couldn’t put it down.
I am enjoying reading this authors books and she is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors.
This story had its heartbreaking moments but also its hot moments, you will have to read this to see what I mean.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
