From Wall Street Journal bestselling heart-slayer Nicole Snow comes an intense and bantery slow-burn standalone romance.Accidentally married to a human stallion. And I can’t even remember our wedding. It’s awkward, okay? I didn’t plan on waking up hitched to Hubby of the Century.Or one little misadventure erasing every memory of us.No sweet nothings. No ugly cry vows. No flipping honeymoon. But … nothings. No ugly cry vows. No flipping honeymoon.
But every time I see Flint Calum, I wonder.
How did I get so lucky?
Let’s forget all six foot something of his oh-so-bad superdad self.
His flashing eyes and SEAL perfected whip of a body aren’t why I’m dizzy.
It’s the bittersweet way he smiles when I poke at my past.
And something’s very wrong.
He tells me I’ll be fine.
He says he’ll get this sorted.
He promises to be my shield.
Totally not the pretender who’d scheme up an illusion to save my life.
Oh, but that’s the thing about memories.
Sometimes they come back with bitter truths wrapped in dilemmas.
What if I can’t stay mad at him?
What if I need Flint to hero me back together?
What happens when you fall in love with a beautiful lie?
From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow – a marriage mistake with two fierce truths and a lie. A dark knight single dad plays for keeps to save Little Miss Forgetful from a wicked past. Full-length standalone romance novel with a fantabulous Happily Ever After.

** spoiler alert ** Flint only has room in his heart for two people, his mom and his son. Valerie doesn’t remember who she is. One night changes everything. Will Valerie remember who she was? Will Flint be ready to let go of the past to build a future?
Loved the connection between these two from the beginning. I loved how despite what was at stake, Flint was determined to do whatever he could to protect her. I thought for what was going on, Valerie showed strength and I couldn’t blame her for being scared and breaking down at times. Good read!
Great reading experience, highly entertaining, sexy, fun and engaging romantic journey filled with exciting charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable and smoking hot passion…… was a thrilling read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this adventure.
I really enjoyed this book. I have to say it’s one of my new favorites from this author. I’m hoping Cash gets his own story.
Another awesome, adventurous, dangerous, and loving story by Nicole Snow. Flint and Val’s story is beautiful and is one of my favorites! I also loved that it took place in Oahu because I have been there and could picture it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Who is trying to kill me and why? Val is thrown into a skiff and it subsequently blows up. She is rescued and taken to Flint’s house to recover. Flint was a Navy Seal and will be able to keep her safe. She has amnesia from a head injury. Her brother is known to be associating with a dangerous cartel. Is she in the way? The characters are very developed and it enriches the story. It’s a really good premise and interesting reading but It’s long. I enjoyed reading it.

I loved Accidental Shield and the amnesia twist. It helped to have a sexy single dad/former Navy Seal who is all about protecting the h. An intriguing storyline, unexpected twists and a fabulous HEA make this a must read.
Slow burn 5 stars – I think Flint’s blue sea glass didn’t help Val’s amnesia. I bet if she wasn’t drowning in his eyes, tingling from his attention and heating up from his nearness, she would have recovered her memories faster. Too bad she had to suffer Flint’s protectiveness and caring, lol. I love the progression of their romance though. You can feel their attraction for each other from the beginning but the way the author delayed their first time was fitting and done right. I also love the dangers that came with the plot and the supporting characters are very interesting. Had to read it in one sitting. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
This story took some getting into for me. Had some times where it dragged, like when Val finds out what actually happened to her & that she isn’t married to Flint. As their relationship foundation is being laid, not much is happening & I almost put this book down. But fortunately, there is a pick up & when it did, it took off from there. What you think is gonna happen, turns into something else. Layer upon layer. And the action was just “Bam! In your face!”
I just can not seem to get enough of this author since having started to read so that whenever I see one know I jump right in like this one. This one also seems to have a few puzzles that need put together with us trying to do just that along with the characters. Valerie and Flint have a story that keeps us right on it with her and the Seal being what keeps us guessing. Even though she begins to know something we still are stuck like glue. We eat it all up from beginning to end wanting the pieces to all fit.
I like amnesia romances, usually, there’s a backstory love connection between the main couple in this genre, but not so in this one. Flint doesn’t know anything personal about Val, and is coerced due to his mission to pretend to be her husband. Thankfully, he’s pretty awful at lying and making things up on the fly, so despite her amnesia, they end up pretending to be a couple for her own safety. His son had to lie to his grandma to keep up the charade, but at least Flint felt remorse with all of the lies that were being perpetuated to protect Val.
Throughout most of it, Val was trusting as she started to fall for Flint
Set in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, there were numerous nuggets of island life and the local favorites as far as sights, food, and scenery. Well written and evenly paced with enough drama to keep my interest up.

I thought that this was a very enjoyable and clever read. I loved Valerie and Flint’s story. I felt that there was just something special about this book. I mean, I’ll be honest here, the whole accidentally married angle is pretty standard but this book just really worked for me. maybe it was the characters (which I adored), or the added tweaks that the author put onto this standard trope that I found fresh and exciting, either way I felt that this book was a real winner. The story line is very entertaining and offers a delightful blend of drama, humor, heat, emotions, suspense and romance.
Bartender line up the drinks and keep “em coming! Nicole Snow has once again wowed me with her latest book, Accidental Shield. This is a hot, steamy story that will have you reaching for a cool frozen concoction or a glass of mango tea. There is all sorts of danger and mystery and of course some sexual tension that will have you fanning yourself. I hope she writes about a certain surly doctor in her next book, yes Ms. Snow, Cash needs his own book! I will one-click anything this woman writes, and I highly suggest you do the same if you want gorgeous mean, turtles and romance. 5-glowing stars for Accidental Shield by Nicole Snow.
Out of the military and the security business Flint Calum is just enjoying life, until his friend drops an unconscious woman off at his door and tells him he needs to protect her. Valarie Gerard is rich and beautiful AND has amnesia. Trying to make Valerie feel more comfortable a small white lie soon spirals out of control and Flint has a hard time keeping his hands off his new fake wife. Valerie’s life is in danger and Flint knows he is the only one that can protect her. Flint will gladly become her Shield, not to just save her life but to keep her close to him so he can continue to feel the amazing feelings Valerie brings out. Now Flint and his team must figure out a way to get information to bring down the men who are gunning for Valerie and not give away their secrets in the process.
The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with great detail and depth which kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
I read a copy in exchange for a honest review. I enjoyed reading this book. This book is full of romance, excitement, a little suspense, and adventure. Great storyline and great characters. The chemistry between Flint & Valerie was off the charts. Overall a very interesting, great book!
Such a wonderful slow burn romance between Valerie and Flint. The story starts with a huge roar, then settles a bit so the reader can catch up. Flint is a former Navy SEAL, turned elite security until a previous job goes horribly wrong. When Val is dropped into his home for safe-keeping, Val & Flint have an unusual arrangement. Val has no idea who she is, and has to rebuild herself. Flint has a son, Bryce, and his mother also makes an appearance. Val’s brother Roy and their mother also play parts in this delicious tale set in Hawaii. It’s an engrossing good vs evil story, with solid writing, and a long, satisfying end. I loved this story of a man who drops his shield to accept the love of a woman who has also had to redeem herself.
I received a copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion, voluntarily provided.
What a way to start the new year! Nicole Snow gives us a unique twist on the fake marriage romance genre. Flint and Valerie may have shared out fake, but before long things heat up. These two characters are intriguing, their chemistry is palatable, the drama is intense, and the book is a page turner from start to finish. I loved the ending with a little redemption for everyone. Great read!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Flint is an amazing character, strength, duty to family and friends, and honest except when he has to protect a woman with amnesia. Valerie is strong but scared but it doesnt stop her from love. A fast paced story that is exciting from the very start the action doesnt lag. I loved the descriptions of Hawaii, almost made me feel like I was there. A really good read

I just discovered Nicole Snow in 2019 and her books have quickly become some of my favorites, Accidental Shield was no exception! This book is jammed with action, humor, quotable moments and so much more that will keep you hanging on til the last page.
I don’t really want to divulge any parts of the plot cause it just risks taking away from the amazing story that Nicole has crafted, but I can write about the characters a little. Flint is a sexy former Navy Seal, and now single father, that has no room for anyone else in his life. He has past wounds that he still struggles to deal with and the last thing he wants is more blood on his hands or his son to be at risk. Valarie is suffering from some memory loss after an accident and she is trying her best to deal with the frustrations that come along with that. She is definitely a fun, sassy character that is also tough as nails when she needs to be but also the voice of reason too. These characters will having you rooting for their HEA in no time flat!
I absolutely recommend this book and this author!
I loved this story. It was different and captivating. I loved Flint and the way he wants to protect Valerie. The story sucked me in and I couldn’t stop. The chemistry between Flint and Valerie in undeniable, even with all the unknowns thrown in from her accident.

5 “Explosive” Stars Cavalier sounded amazing just from the blurb and it incontestably ended up being a highly addictive read! I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting! T.L. Smith shaped a couple with an explosive chemistry that burned up the pages and fashioned an intriguing fast-paced plot! I absolutely loved everything about this novel!
