From Wall Street Journal bestselling heart-slayer Nicole Snow comes an intense and bantery slow-burn standalone romance.Accidentally married to a human stallion. And I can’t even remember our wedding. It’s awkward, okay? I didn’t plan on waking up hitched to Hubby of the Century.Or one little misadventure erasing every memory of us.No sweet nothings. No ugly cry vows. No flipping honeymoon. But … nothings. No ugly cry vows. No flipping honeymoon.
But every time I see Flint Calum, I wonder.
How did I get so lucky?
Let’s forget all six foot something of his oh-so-bad superdad self.
His flashing eyes and SEAL perfected whip of a body aren’t why I’m dizzy.
It’s the bittersweet way he smiles when I poke at my past.
And something’s very wrong.
He tells me I’ll be fine.
He says he’ll get this sorted.
He promises to be my shield.
Totally not the pretender who’d scheme up an illusion to save my life.
Oh, but that’s the thing about memories.
Sometimes they come back with bitter truths wrapped in dilemmas.
What if I can’t stay mad at him?
What if I need Flint to hero me back together?
What happens when you fall in love with a beautiful lie?
From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow – a marriage mistake with two fierce truths and a lie. A dark knight single dad plays for keeps to save Little Miss Forgetful from a wicked past. Full-length standalone romance novel with a fantabulous Happily Ever After.

This has to be one of my favorite books in the Accidental series by Nicole Snow. Flint and Valerie pulled me in from the very beginning. The tropical setting was just a bonus to help take you away from the chill of the winter. Flint is a carrying man and father who has his own history to work through. Valerie is a strong woman with family who seem to think she is just a spoiled woman who will never amount to much. She is much more than that. Waking up and having amnesia is a hard thing to deal with. On top of that Valerie doesn’t know what to believe. Flint and his good friend want to protect her and get to the bottom of who is after her and why. This story was so intense at times and full of action. Flint’s son Bryce along with Flints mom were great side characters. I loved every part of this book and the HEA was perfect.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Nobody does a beach read like Nicole! Forget lazy and laid back, Flint and Valerie are passionate, damaged, hilarious, and unpredictable to the last page.
There’s heart-stopping suspense and a mystery that’s as rich as their unlikely romance and wild bedroom scenes.
There’s even an adorable exotic cat and sea turtles!

Nicole has given us a book with all of the feels to keep us on the edge of our seats. Heart racing terror, lies and deceit, murder and mayhem and a love that just gets stronger. Can Flint and Val pull it all together to cut off the head of the snake before they die? Loved it!!
(Please go back to giving me a small blurb about the book before you ask me to write a review. You are now forcing me to retreive an index card from my library. It discourages me from writing a review. Thanks.)
When I started Accidental Shield, I loved it! I especially loved Flint’s inner dialogue as he tried to avoid his attraction to his “wife.” I loved the story but it took too long to get to the end.
Valerie Gerard just woke up in a strange man’s bed with complete amnesia, only to be told minutes later that he’s her husband. He’s gorgeous and sweet so being married to Flint Calum isn’t exactly a hardship. Except they’re not married at all, they’re complete strangers. This was a fun take on the fake marriage since Val wasn’t in on it and Flint had the best of intentions.
Her life is in danger and the former Navy SEAL just wants to protect her, but things keep getting more complicated. I loved everything about Val and Flint. She was so happy to become reacquainted with her life and confused as memories resurface that contradict the reality that Flint has presented. He went to so much trouble to help a complete stranger and worried the entire time he wasn’t making the right choices, but saving her is a chance to right a past wrong and it means the world to him.
Their attraction is undeniable but Val doesn’t want to draw him into her dangerous world any further and Flint worries he’s taking advantage of this vulnerable soul. The tension is excruciating and their chemistry is off the charts but wouldn’t giving in be the worst possible idea for everyone? There’s a lot of intrigue and suspense but it’s not really possible to give any detail on those aspects of the plot without being a spoiler so I’ll just say that I couldn’t put this book down and it’s worth every minute.
This was a fun read full of action, suspense, and adventure that I was not expecting. Valerie wakes up in a place that is unknown to her with no memory of her life at all so when she is face to face with Flint and starts to try to piece things together she just can’t remember anything but some things seem off even with no memory. Flint is ex Seal and doesn’t want anything to do with heling Val but he knows she is in danger and will help protect her no matter what. These two have instant chemistry and try so hard to fight it, but sometimes attraction and fate have other plans. There were a lot of twists and turns, things I did not see coming, and a lot of unexpected plans that were fantastic. Another great read in this series.
This story is about Flint and Valerie. Valerie has amnesia and can not remember anything. She can’t remember being married. Flint is a retired Seal that finds himself caught up in Valerie’s rescue and feels this intense need to protect her. So, knowing she has no memory he tells her they are married to keep her close and protect her her. Then Valerie’s memories start to return. Terrific read.
loved it!
Great read – very well written
I loved everything about this book. The story-line, the characters and the plot with all the suspense and so much action.
I really connected with the main characters, their relatives and closest ones.
It was the read that kept me turning the pages to find out what comes next. Tension that was build up perfectly between the two protagonists just kept me waiting for final. I wanted desperately see how it all would end. I loved the kid and grandma, their interactions with each other.
There were also some turns and twists that I didn’t expect. I liked that this story could surprise me. Very enjoyable, not too much drama and not too much angst.
This is my first Nicole Snow book. I was immediately pulled into this very well written romantic adventure. This book has well developed and complex characters in a multilayered story/mystery with lots of action. Both Flint and Valerie are interesting and very likable – as is Flint’s young son. The attraction between the H and h is heat filled. My only critique is that I felt the story arc and journey the characters take went on much longer than I wanted it to. I expected the outcome and found myself thinking several times during the last 30% of the book that I was reading what I call “filler” … and wanted it to wrap up and bring me to the resolution and HEA.
I will definitely try more by this author and recommend this book.
Another fantastic book by Nicole Snow. Loved the characters. Good strong Hero and heroine. Really enjoyed this book. Can not wait to see what she comes up with next.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

Very well written, engaging and intriguing storyline .
Flint , ex- Seal try to buries his demons from the past, his soul is broken and he has no intention to have any relationship.
Valerie almost killed and drowned found herself in strange bedroom and this handsome devil telling he is her husband.
She doesn’t have memories from the past, he doesn’t want to have one.
A little bit of hope , a little bit a light…when she is around him ,he is alive again. But first he must protect her.
This story is full of action, mystery and excitement. The sexual tension between these two is scorching hot.
A real page turner from the beginning to the HEA

Well this plot has it all mystery drama suspense
and twists that had my attention for most of the time.
But there seem to be something missing but still it was an ok read.
Okay but long and drawn out
So I picked up and put down Accidental Shield several times while trying to read it. I have liked several of Nicole Snow’s books that I have read but this one I just felt was okay but was missing something. I just found the majority of the book to be long and drawn out where I would have much more appreciated it be be faster paced and more intense. In the end I skimmed a lot of the book, skipped other parts and when I read the last couple of chapters I did not fell like I had missed a whole lot. I know others will really like this book but for me it was just okay and not something I would ever read again.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Flint is a former Navy Seal and he finally is able to stay at home with his son and have a stable live. His buddy shows up with an unconscious woman on his doorstep. She was attacked by some men trying to kill her but somehow didn’t managed to succeed in doing so. So Flint decides to pretend to be her husband in order to protect her and gets her to a doctor to be checked out. Once she wakes and doesn’t remember anything but what she is told. Sparks fly between them as they are together as a family. However what will happen when she learns the truth? Will they be able to work through it together?
This is a great story and will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
Starting off with action, filled with mystery, and an action packed climax, Accidental Shield ticks off all my marks for the perfect romantic suspense. The chemistry was perfect and sweet scenes with Bryce just made everything even better. I thoroughly recommend this.
I’ve been reading quite a few books lately by Nicole Snow. ACCIDENTAL SHIELD is now one of my favorites. It is a Marriage Mistake Romance. It reminded me of the movie: OVERBOARD with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. This movie was from back in 1987, but I loved it, and watched multiple times. This book made me want to watch it once again, so ordered a DVD.
Imagine waking up with complete amnesia. You don’t know anything. There is a gaping black hole where your life should be. That is just what happened to Valerie Gerald. She woke up in a strange bed and in a strange room. There is a man in the room. A six-foot-something gorgeous all male man. He has a beautiful smile. He is kind and takes care of her, even after she gets sick all over his bed. He has the brightest blue eyes that remind her of sea glass blue. But he is a stranger. Imagine her genuine surprise when she is told, he is her husband.
Flint Calum is sure he is going to Hell. His doctor “friend” has told him that he must pretend to be Valerie’s husband. There was a boating accident when some really evil men tried to kill her. She has amnesia. She is scared. By believing he is her husband, her anxiety level won’t be as high. She should feel safe and comfortable if she is to have a swift recovery. But when she begs Flint to stay with her in his bed, because she is afraid to be alone. Things get more complicated.
Why would Valerie want to remember, when she has the perfect husband. Flint is warming up to having her there. Then his mother decides it is time to bring his son home. And then there is her cat Savanny. What would one little kiss matter? A big wonderful story!
What a phenomenal new romantic suspense from Nicole Snow. Valerie is rescued out at sea and has amnesia and being cared for by a handsome “angel”. Flint is a former Navy Seal who has relocated to Hawaii with his young son and opened his own security agency. As Flint nurses Valerie and helps her figure our the jumbled mess of her returning memories, their attraction quickly becomes something more. Accidental Shield is a dangerously romantic suspense filled with danger, secrets, passion, and love. I absolutely loved this new book from Nicole Snow and I can’t wait for her next book.
