I have 99 problems and necromancy is # 1. Hiding my necromancy from the world should’ve been my biggest problem. Necromancy is forbidden, an automatic death sentence for witches like me. I would’ve been happy to keep my head down, do my part for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations as their only on staff witch, and solve magical crimes. I’d planned to do just that until my first day as an … as an agent when my new boss punched me in the face.
To make work extra exciting, mutilated bodies began showing up around town. Magic, unlike anything I’ve ever seen, coats them from skin to bone. I have to find the killer before they lose control of the spells and kill even more people.
Did I mention the stalker? He’s the reason I live with a vampire.
Maybe I should start at the beginning.
I’m Special Agent Kelsey Pine, witch, necromancer, and I have a few problems.

This story is fast paced., has a strong main character and over all a good story. Kelsey Pine is a special agent for TBI which is short for Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Kelsey has to deal with her one boss who hates her, a stalker, her feelings for her ex Jamie and also solve some gruesome murders. And also deal with her necromancy powers and trying to keep them under wraps so the clan doesn’t kill her because of her power. She finds out Wayne and Nash seem to like her and that Jamie still likes her also. Can Kelsey catch the killer? Will she figure out who her stalker is? Will she be able to handle her one boss? Will the clan find out that she has Necromancer powers? Will she be able to keep her secret safe?
I look forward for the second book called Reluctant Necromancer which comes out May 22, 2020.

I love a good UF read and Accidental Necromancer is one of them. This book was my first read from this author and i found myself riveted to the story trying to find what was happening and who was behind the murders. Good intrigue, well written storyline and action packed. As per the author notes this is not a RH/UF but three men seems to be attracted to Kelsey. Nothing steamy or romantic happens in this first book but can’t wait to see what will happens next and who Kelsey will end up with in the end.

The blurb for this was good and sparked my imagination. This is the first book I have read by this author. If this is the style and content of her writing, then she will become one of my favorite authors. This book had lots of emotion, danger, mystery, and great characters. It captured my imagination and kept me enthralled the whole time I was reading it. In fact, I didn’t put it down from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what the next book in this series might tell me. If you like supernatural, paranormal, cop stuff, and a good book, then you will like this book. I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would highly recommend it.

I really liked this introduction to Kelsey a newly graduated witch which starts on her first day at her first job. It was a blast to read as I watched Kelsey try to deal with her personal problems and her new job. The characters were a blast and well written enough to like them all. I liked the bit of mystery that was included that will run into the next book. The glimpses into this urban fantasy world were interesting and made it really hard to put it down. I was hooked from the beginning and liked the basic story line. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
I was absolutely enthralled throughout the book and could not put it down the entire time. I was on the edge of my seat through the book and cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book. This is a wonderful cross between Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan series and Laurell Hamilton’s Anita Blake series.

I enjoyed getting to know Agent Kelsey Pine, witch and necromancer. She had spunk, a big heart and a giant sized ability to find herself in over her head in trouble. The story itself flows nicely and while there are a few characters introduced the author thankfully gives them unique sounding names so you are able to keep up with everyone.
First day on the job, fresh out of training and Kelsey finds that not only does she have to educate others about how witchcraft really works, she has to do it all while battling a new type of magic. Then throw in her necromancer ability suddenly making a bigger statement than she is comfortable with and you have all of the earmarks for making the first day on the job being a real pain in the rear.
I know there has to be establishing and in the first book you have to lay the foundation for other books in the series but for me the middle of the book started dragging and felt a bit repetitive.
Loved how the secondary characters personalities were slowly unfolded so you got a sense of them on their own. Looks like the book is becoming a reverse harem and while there wasn’t much on the relationship front except for when Kelsey reminisced about her past relationship with Jamie the hints are being dropped as to what the future may hold.
We get a wrap for this part of the story with the case being solved, there are still a lot of questions and loose strings that we hopefully will get answers for in the next book.

What a shame this is such a good series start, or it would have been but slowly as we went through the trial of Kelsey Pine’s first week as the first Witch in the police force her struggles with her clan so she could have her career outwith the clan and the fact she’s a necromancer which is illegal by death penalty so she’s fine all her life having done nothing more than raise a goldfish from death and get in the space of a week not only has she raised a human, an elf and a deer from death, but she’s got more men than species panting all over her.
Whether this turns into o full reverse harem or not it’s a shame it belittles the work women have to do that men think they slept their way into. Not due I’ll read the next. That’s sad a the writing is really good. Off you like a show burn full for it. Sadly I’m not

What an engaging read! Loved the fmc and her vampire roommate. The storyline was engaging and takes me back to the great uf genre
