“Out-of-this-world amazing.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I was absolutely hooked.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“SEXY!!!… I’m obsessed.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I just loved everything about this book.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Bad boy. Player. Commitment-phobe. Husband?I’m Mac.But you already know that, right? You probably recognize my voice… you sip your morning coffee – along with the rest of Sacramento’s female population.
If there’s one other thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a lone wolf.
Hell yeah, I get my fair share of the ladies. Plural.
But I’ve never been a one-woman man.
Not since my last screwed-up relationship.
Not since the drama, the guilt, that has haunted me ever since.
These days, there’s only so much hurt I’m willing to give or take.
On the outside, I might seem perfect: blue eyes, built, a brave, alpha attitude.
But every day is another battle with my demons. A struggle to stay afloat.
And yeah, that fight’s a whole lot safer on my own. For everyone.
But then I saw Kelley. She was alone, crying at the bus-stop.
From that moment, I knew she needed me.
I knew I needed her.
Full, sexy lips. Long chestnut hair. A dancer’s body.
She’s a work of art.
Next thing, our clothes are lying in a heap around us.
She’s moaning in my arms.
She’s screaming my name.
She’s shivering in pleasure.
Before I know it, we’re waking up naked. Except on my left-hand is a shiny, gold ring.
Kelley’s not just a hot-as-hell one-night stand.
She’s my wife.
I can’t deny that I’m glad she’s mine.
But I’m not husband material.
Knowing my track record, I’m bound to screw things up.
What’s worse… It turns out there’s something she’s not telling me.
She’s battling her own heartbreak and tragedy seems to follow her around.
Her walls are up, and it’s going to be one hell of a challenge to crash them down.
The odds are well and truly stacked against us.
So this thing can’t last, can it? Even if I want it to…

When I heard that Dana Mason was releasing a new book I was thrilled! Already a Dana Mason fan, no one had to convince me to read Accidental Groom when it became available, I snatched it up and didn’t put it down until I finished. I loved Mac and Kelley’s story. It had all the makings of a perfectly spun contemporary romance and I wasn’t disappointed. You’ll think you know this storyline ~ guy sees girl, guy talks to girl, guy and girl get drunk, and then life-changing dominos begin to fall, but you don’t know this storyline at all. Not the way Dana Mason tells it.
Mac is…well, Mac is insecure. He comes off as being LA’s playboy. A radio show jock who gets paid to play the part of womanizer and player, but he’s tired of the game. Maybe that was why when he saw Kelley crying on a bench in front of his favorite coffee shop, something inside him changed. The problem was, this self-proclaimed single forever DJ just found himself truly enamored by a woman for the first time in his life. For the first time, he wanted to know more about this woman and he didn’t even know her name.
Kelley’s life is slowly, well, check that, quickly, falling apart. Walking in on her best friend and now ex in bed together was the final straw of an already jammed back crappy life. All she wanted to do was finish school, get her degree, and move on with her life, but the universe wasn’t having it, or was it? Was the addition of Mac to her life going to be nothing more than a little bit of fun in her stressed out world, or would he be the catalyst to putting her life back on track? Those who knew Mac said it was the former, but Kelley, who is falling for him deeply, wonders, hopes, and prays it’s the latter.
I loved the flirty, sexy, fast pace of Mac and Kelley’s story. The secondary characters like Mike and Emily were also a bonus and I HOPE Dana plans to write their stories as well. Accidental Groom is written in first person POV split between Mac and Kelley, and also in present tense. I’m normally one who completely avoids present tense in romance because it’s rarely done right and usually slips back and forth between tenses, but NOT Accidental Groom! It was flawless and I can’t imagine the story being told any other way.
I refuse to do spoiler reviews and this book is really hard to review without spoiling the biggest storyline arcs, but let me say this — when you find out why Mac is the way he is, and why Kelley is the way she is, you’ll quickly come to grips with how absolutely perfect they are for each other. I can also promise you, you’ll be hooked from page one all the way to their happily ever after.
This was my first Dana Mason’s book. This is the first book in the Accidental Love Series. I like this story. Kelley and Mac are great characters, and they share an instant attraction. They both have a difficult past, and I like how they learn to know each other. The secondary characters are also interesting. Addiction isn’t easy to talk about, and Dana Mason did it beautifully. Kelsey Navarro did a great job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession
Dana Mason is a new to me author and I was thoroughly impressed with the audiobook for Accidental Groom. From the sizzling chemistry to the great sexy times and the fab sprinkles of humor, everything just flowed so well. I really enjoy it when a romance has a great balance of feels and steam and this audio did just that. I was team Mac and Kelly the whole time!
Narration was performed by Kelsey Navarro. It’s my first time listening to audio performed by her and I really enjoyed it. Her ‘male voice’ is excellent and quickly found myself swooning over Mac. Always a great thing. She made the story come to life effortlessly and definitely made me want to check out her other narrations. 5 stars.
Audio Review: Accidental Groom by Dana Mason (Author), Kelsey Navarro (Narrator)
An entertaining delight. Mason made sure that the laughs were a stepping stone to her taking over your heart. Mac and Kelly are mess made in real life. Yet they manage to find their way to a happily ever after. Accidental Groom brings a smile to your face and puts love in your heart. Delightful.
Kelley decides to take a trip with the playboy DJ. Very quickly, Mac and Kelley find themselves married. Their journey is full of laughter, tears and pasts that they need to deal with. Kelley is a strong, independent woman. She brings such fun and banter to the relationship. Mac is known as a playboy, but will that all change when he finds out he is married? This is a light romance, that was so much fun to read. You will laugh, shed a tear and hope for these two to stay together. I loved following their journey from beginning to end. I could not put it down.
Kelsey Navarro brought this story to life. Ms. Navarro easily brought out every emotion and all the feels through her narration. She has an easy voice to listen to. Her male and female voices are distinct and easy to follow. I really enjoyed her narration of Kelley. Ms. Navarro made it seem as if I was right there through all of Kelley’s struggles and emotions. I look forward to hearing more from Ms. Navarro.
A night in Reno that will lead to a lifetime of happiness. I loved the way this book flowed with it’s beautiful writing. The confusion and feelings involved were so realistic and detailed so well that I felt I was right there with them. A great listen with fantastic narration as well.

Accidental Love, Book 1

I loved this book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines & characters. The story captured my attention right from start and held it to the very end. I adored the two lead characters, Mac “Mackensey” and Kelley. When Mac first saw Kelley he could not help but stare at her, she was in an emotional state but he was just entranced by her beauty. Mac is a morning radio show host, he is fairly well known in the area as being the perpetual player and commitment phobe. But something draws him to her. Kelley dreamed of and worked hard to become a professional dancer, she was on her way to the top when an injury put an end to those dreams. The accident that caused her injury took away a lot more than her dancing, it was her whole life and she was in the process of starting over and finding herself again. Her best friend broke her heart and when she meets Mac and he asks her to go with him on a trip to Reno she jumps on the offer, it would be a great way to forget her heartaches for the moment. There is great chemistry between these two, being with Kelley is easy for Mac, he is able to be himself and it just feels right. The two party a bit too much and wind up getting married. Oops. They leave to go back home, back to reality, she goes back to her life and he to his. Funny thing is Mac is not freaking out about what they did. I loved their story, the drama, the laughs and most of all how great they were together. The author kept this story real, she did a great job covering some serious topics in this story, alcoholism for one and other real life issues. It was relatable and it really humanized these characters, showed their struggles and how they handled them. There are some great secondary characters who are supportive in many ways. I highly recommend this book, it is entertaining and enjoyable, the type of book you just can’t put down. Dana Mason, thank you for another great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kelsey Navarro is a talented narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She set the perfect tone for the story and adds a nice dramatic flair which enhances the story another level. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen

I am a sucker for the drunk and end up married troupe, and I figured this would be a good read. It ended up being that, and much more! Yes, we have the typical player trying to reform and then finding the woman to make him want to stop all his womanizing ways. These characters were likeable and relatable. They have substantial flaws-ones any everyday person may experience and have to learn to live with. This story was rather straightforward and that’s why I enjoyed it so much.
Kelley and Mac have a killer connection they both doubted. Neither believed something like that would happen to them. There is a lot of soul searching and reveals throughout. The exposed vulnerability taking its toll. Its what the other does with that vulnerability is the key.
I liked this story and how they endured their growing pains. The ending was predictable, but getting there was anything but. I would not hesitate to recommend this book!
I voluntarily chose to review this gifted book by the publisher through NetGalley. The rating and review are my opinion.
My first time listening to Kelsey Navarro and I really enjoyed her narration. I settled into the book before I’d even thought about it. And I knew who was who without it having to be said. Total bonus.
This story is thoroughly enjoyable. I love the connection between the two main characters. The story is great and full of emotion. I loved listening to how their relationship moved both forwards and backwards. And I really love knowing the story from both sides, often before they know it themselves. I’m kinda sad the book ended and I have to leave these characters behind.
If your looking for a fun listen on a rainy day or at the beach this is perfect. The chemistry between the characters is fun, the spark is spontaneous, with a few glitches along the way. The narrator did a wonderful job.

Kelley is a struggling student overcoming a tragic past and life keeps finding new ways to deal her a crappy hand. Mackenzie is a Morning show DJ at the top of his game. He has a player persona, buckets of money and is in the process of leaving his partying lifestyle in the past.
The pair have an instant spark and there is sexual tension for days. Both characters are incredibly likable. And you can’t help but root for them from minute one. There is enough backstory and drama to keep you interested in what will happen next.
I would recommend this book for anyone into contemporary romance/steamy romance, protective alpha types and HEAs.
I loved the instant chemistry between the main characters. They both have been through a lot and deal with some very tough emotional subjects. But I love how he’s always trying to protect her. After many silly mishaps they find a HEA. The narrator does an excellent job with the characters and really gives them a good sense of passion.

AUDIO REVIEW:
Both Dana Mason and narrator Kelsey Navarro were new to me.
This was a story that pulled me in and kept me engaged right from the start. The narration was good and certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the story.
This was a sweet, romantic story that had quite a few laugh out loud moments but was also at times an emotional roller coaster.
What happens when two equally damaged souls collide? They go on a weekend away and wind up married, now the big question is what happens next?
Can Mac and Kelley help each other to come to terms with the tragedies in their pasts and in turn create a future together?
I really liked Mac’s need to protect Kelley and it was obvious well before he acknowledged his feelings that he had fallen for Kelley.
The chemistry between them is intense and feelings grow, but do they want the same things? Or will miss communication threaten Mac and Kelley’s chance to finally get the happily ever after they both deserve?
This was such a great read. I want to say it was a fun read but I feel like that would take away from some of the big topics that happened throughout. I love the way that Dana Mason had these problems – addiction, alcoholism, grief, loss, etc. – worked into the story, kept the topics serious but light. A lot of authors use big topics but keep them in the background and make them unimportant. Mason made these topics big parts of the book without making the book too serious or dramatic. The story line itself was unique and not something that was overplayed. They each have hurt in their past that they are trying to move on from, and I don’t think either was able to really heal until they met each other and were able to let go of the past.
Mac is a radio DJ and sees Kelley outside of a Starbucks in devastated tears. He waned to help her and protect her but wasn’t sure how. A week later he sees her again at the same Starbucks and asks her out to lunch. One thing leads to another and he invites her to a Comedy Festival he is MC’ing over the weekend. Before the weekend is over they wake up married and with a hangover, and everything after that changes.

A sweet story about two scarred souls finding together in a surprising way. The road to happiness is not easy but worth it.
Great storyline that builds up nicely to a happy ending.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of dialogues
Characters is well described and feels familiar at the end and I like that very much.
This was romantic, sweet, steamy and agonising at times, I enjoyed it very much.
Narrator read with feelings and had clear pronunciation. At times I felt like the voice was a little high pitching but most of the time I enjoyed it.

Accidental Love, Book 1

Why is this my first Dana Mason book? I started this last night and could not stop until I finished. Kelly and Mac’s story is one you will want to listen to and enjoy, laughing a little, crying a little and just rooting for these two all the way! Kelly is a strong, independent woman, surviving tragic circumstances and trying to get by. When super disc jockey, Mackenzie invites her to get away for the weekend, she thought, why not go and have some fun. Little did she know the ramifications of that fun! Finding themselves married, we now get to take their journey to dealing with the past, and looking to the future. This is one of those easy listens with little angst, humorous banter, and off the charts chemistry. Mason’s flare for writing caught me up and I couldn’t get enough. Her inclusion of serious life situations is handled with compassion, easily melds into the story without weighing it down, but making us well aware of the paths life can lead. The supporting cast of Eric, Meghan and Emily just add that little something extra, keeping us invested and making us look to more in this series.
Kelsey Navarro is a new to me narrator and I loved her! Her narration is amazing. She has great pace, and her voices are easy to distinguish. As Kelly, her inflections gave us all the feels. This girl has been through so much, and Navarro’s voice let us experience all her pain and her joy. When Navarro performs Mac, we can feel his insecurity and as life changes, her voice emotes his revelations. She gives a wonderful portrayal of the novel and I will look for more of her work.

Sigh, I fell in love with Mac, sorry Kelley but he is mine… Poor Kelley is broken hearted when she finds her boyfriend in bed with her best friend Megan- hated Megan and Erik two very selfish people. Mac sees Kelley crying and even though he is supposedly a player and commitment phobe and supposedly doesn’t care about girls I didn’t see that he cared about Kelley from the beginning. This isn’t a hearts in eyes story it deals with some heavy topics and can be heartbreaking but there are also a whole lot of smiles…Grab a copy and Enjoy!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Accidental Groom by new to me author Dana Mason, is an emotional and sexy read. The characters are easy to get to know and their backstories are both interesting and heartrending. This is the first book from the author’s Accidental Love series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
Mackensey Thomas is a well-known radio DJ in the Sacramento area. His top-rated morning show is quite popular and he looks amazing plastered to the side of a bus. He enjoys the lifestyle his occupation provides, however, he is nothing like his radio personality. Mac has never been in a long-term romantic relationship, and playing the field has always worked for him. Kelley Kontos is a 25-year-old college student. She used to be a professional dancer earning a decent living when tragedy struck. She basically lost everything, including her self esteem. Kelley’s present living situation is less than ideal, but she is a tough cookie and getting through her last year of school and saving money are her primary goals. Then she meets Mac at the local coffee shop and he becomes a priority as well.
Mac and Kelley share an instant connection, and within a very short time they accidentally and drunkenly get married. They agree to address their new relationship status after Kelley’s final exams. They really like each other and discover how perfect they are together. Getting married ends up being the best decision they both ever made.
I liked this book. Ms. Mason pours wonderful passion into her book and as a result, her characters are compelling and full of intensity. This is a well-conceived story and the couple’s sexy times are super hot. If you are in the mood for an emotional romance with a ton of heat, pick up a copy of Accidental Groom.

One never knows what they will get, when reading a new author, but I was very pleased with this first read and look forward to reading the books that will follow in the series. The fascinating characters and an interesting plot written in a provocative narrative, make this a lovely read, which I had a difficult time putting down.
Mack ( Mackensey) first lays eyes on Kelly when he sees her on a bus stop bench, crying her eyes out and talking on he cellphone. Assuring himself that she isn’t in danger, when a woman approaches her, he rushes off to his job. He is a co-host of the top-rates radio show in Sacramento. The following week, when he sees her again at Starbucks, he does approach her, and they find that they have an instant chemistry. She seems to be the only person in Sacramento who does know him or his radio show. While she does reveal to him why she had been crying, she walked into the apartment she shares with her best friend, to find her best friend naked on the sofa with Kelly’s boyfriend, there are other things in her past that she doesn’t share, but so does he. Nevertheless, he invites her to go to Reno for Comedy Fest, which he is Mc’ing and totally out of character, she agrees. Despite both of them having a past, that would leave them to abhor alcohol, they end up drunk and married. Neither one is anxious to annul the marriage and they decide to put it temporarily on hold. Misunderstandings and interference by others almost come between them, but can they overcome their past hurts and realize that they are meant for each other?
I received a free, advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
