Bethany has teased for years that if she ever settles down, it’ll be with a harem of men.Mac is a new werewolf, and is still learning control. When he overhears the beautiful redhead at the bar wanting to take on not only him, but also the werewolf and wereleopard chaperoning his night out… he has to convince them to take her home. With two powerful shapeshifters in bed, what could go wrong?
I had always read the BDSM books by this authour, and while I had a few from the RTMC in my TBR, I hadn’t read them yet. I wasn’t, duh, aware that she had shifter books, and I wish I’d known earlier – this was amazing!!!!
This was my first book by Candace Belvins and I am honestly wondering why I hadn’t heard of her before. I actually listened to the Audiobook and it was so hot I think I have burns inside my ears. I will definitely be looking for more of her books.
Acceptable Risk is book 3 of the Chattanooga Supernaturals series. These books are stand alones. As I said this is my first book but I had no problems at all with starting on book and understanding what was going on. I do not have the full back story of each of the characters but there was just enough information on each one to introduce them sufficiently. This is a rather short book, but oh my was it hot.
In the book Bethany who is a once bit twice shy kind of girl has always joked if she were to settle down it would be with her own harem of men. One night in the bar she says to a friend she would like to have those 3 guys as a harem. Little does she know “those 3 guys” are shifters with super hearing. Mac is a recently turned werewolf and over hears Bethany, Ranger is the one who turned Mac, and Jonathan is a wereleopard.
Bethany gets a whole lot more then she bargains for as well as a future with not one but 3 loves of her life.
This book is filled with super hot sex, BDSM and more. If you are the least bit prudish you may not want to pick this book up. For the rest of us, RUN, get your copy and lock yourself in a room for a few hours.
The Audiobook is Narrated by Noah Michael Levine. He has done a great job with all the character voices, even the female voice. He did not rush or drag the story out. He kept pace extremely well. He really made this book enjoyable for me.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Candace Blevins. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
A Woman + A Hot Leopard + 2 Sexy Wolves = Yum!
This is #3 in the Chattanooga Supernaturals Series
HEA, NO cheating, no cliffhangers!
This could be taken as a standalones, but they are connected by characters. I always advise to read in order to get the most out of the experience.
Content Warning: This is a Reverse Harem. SEX! Lots! And it gets kinky! So if you do not like that sort of stuff, then you should avoid.
Story
This is a True Reverse Harem. All the men are there to please Bethany. They do not have sex with each other. Acceptable Risk features characters from previous books in this series as well as those from both the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club Series and the Safeword Series.
Bethany wants a harem like her friend Cassie, but just for right now. This girl has some relationship issues! Mac, Jonathan, and Ranger are the men that are willing to extend the offer to our heroine. They have some issues of their own. The biggest being that they are supernaturals! Bethany freaks out more over the “mine” thing than the “furry” thing.
This is a short listen with a LOT of steam, but manages to have a lot of heart too! I like how caring the guys were. They were willing to talk Bethany through everything. That right there is the biggest fantasy part of the whole story [image error]!
Author
Candace Blevins is a new author to me. Loved the steam and the story, and would listen to her other audio titles once more are released.
Narrator
Noah Michael Levine does Sexy Alpha well! Both genders as well as the general story narration was done with Gruffy Yum! Would listen to more titles performed by him.
Audio Production
Slightly slower sounds best to me. I listened at 0.90 speed.
Don’t be afraid to experiment.

What made the experience of listening to Acceptable Risk the most enjoyable?
I think having a narrator with a voice that has you imagining some of the characters helps to get that movie playing in your head. The reason you listen to a book is because you’re looking for more of an aural experience. Plus it’s a way of getting your book fix while you’re able to get other things done at the same time.
Who was your favorite character and why?
You woiuld think that having a male narrator that I would pick a male character. Sorry to disappoint you but it would have to be Bethany. She wants something but as she gets her wish she finds out some secrets that make her a little wary about her choice. You get the sense that what she feels is real. Bethany also knows how to stand up for herself and not afraid to speak her mind.
What about Noah Michael Levine’s performance did you like?
Mr. Levine brings the male characters to life. I had no trouble picturing what Ranger, Max, and Jonathan may look like. He also adds the heat to the story that I probably wouldn’t feel by reading the book myself. You get more of an emotional experience having someone read to you. When you read for yourself a lot of times it’s more monotone. Our narrator also had me feeling as if I was missing something. Had me wondering if there was a story that should have come before – how these three men came to be. So he’s given me a reason to check out more of our author’s other paranormal series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn’t have an extreme reaction but it certainly got me hot. Mr. Levine has me feeling as if I’m standing off to the side as each scene is played out. Left me wanting more and not wanting this book to end. So looking forward to listening to more of Ms. Blevins’ work.
Any additional comments?
Ms. Blevins and Mr. Levine are a perfect couple – they are perfect for each other. This is a story that will push boundaries. Both for the characters as well as for the reader/listener. If you’re shy at having a person say certain words than I would suggest reading the book. But if you’re up for a more seductive experience than you need to listen. There is a lot of graphic language but that just adds to who these people are and what they want.
At times I closed my eyes as the scene played out. I wanted to concentrate on the scene and see how it played out in my mind – didn’t want the outside world to take my mind away from what Mr. Levine was reading. But I will tell you that it’s not a book to listen to you when you are at work. This is when having the book is the better idea. So this means that this is one of those times where having both the book and the audio version is a good thing. Once I find out what other possible books can be connected with this one, I can see myself listening to this book again.
I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.
Great book. Loved the characters. Hope to read more of this author
A woman walks into a bar and is overheard sating she wants a harem by 3 shapeshifters!.
I discovered that this was part of a series when I started the book and the side characters were so prominent. I will be looking for, and reading, all the books that tie into this one.
I loved this story. It was short and sweet, and full of heat, humor, emotion, wonderful characters, and shifters. What more could a person want in a romance? There was the human, the Leopard, the seasoned Wolf, and the newly-turned Wolf. Together they make up a wonderful “harem”, as Bethany refers to wanting. This is a novella, so there isn’t a ton of character development, but I get the sense that there is more in other books. I was intrigued enough, like I said, to want to read more of this world.
