Born with a rare blood disorder that means she cannot go out in daylight, Accacia has learned to live in the dark, even if it has been incredibly lonely. Determined to find a cure that will finally allow her to walk in the sun, Accacia has spent her days and nights holed up in her laboratory doing just that. After a freak encounter with a tall, dark and ridiculously handsome stranger, Accacia … Accacia might just have found her cure, but not in the way she expected. Drawn into a parallel world of paranormal creatures and a Queen who wants her dead, Accacia has to put her trust in three vampires who, seemingly, want to devour her in more ways than one.

I love seeing all three different sides to Accacia. She’s badass but can be vulnerable too. Makes her more real. LOVED her first reaction to the guys. Fight or Flight!? Rhain, Devin, and Ezra (blood brothers) man the descriptions of them so HOT!!!! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I am so excited to read the other books in the Sister of Hex series!! I love the whole world and story that Bea has created. I am impressed how much thought she has put into this with the 5 sisters, 3 mini-series/novella sized books on each. A lot of meticulous planning and thought has been put into this and it really shows!
We get to meet Accacia (Cia for short – love the name!) when her world is turned upside down, learning about this other world she has been unknowningly a part of. We get to meet her 3 drool worthy men/vampires: Rhain, Ezra, and Devin. I absolutely adore Devin but it will be toss up which one I am going to love the most come the other 2 books in Cia’s story. I can’t wait to read more about the consequences of what happened in book 1 (between Rhain and Cia) and what will happen if they drink her blood because of her abilities. I am looking forward to meeting Clover and seeing what happens on this part of the journey. I can’t wait to see the barriers come down with Ezra, since he is the focus in Book 2. Also Blake (swooooon)…that’s all I’m going to say <3. I thought there was a great mix of story, drama/action, and steam (can't wait to read about her and Devin!!)
There are so many things to be excited about with Bea Paige's debut! I am really looking forward to this series and where she takes us. I recommend everyone who loves a great fantasy/paranormal story read this, especially if you are a follower of #whychoose 😉 BTW, this world would be amazing as a coloring book or picture book. The description of Ever Vale is magical sounding!
The second book in this trilogy starts right where the first ended and the story keeps getting more and more interesting. We have some questions answered but still have new ones that I’m sure will be answered in the next and I believe final book. I am really enjoying this series so far.
This was my first time listening to Megan Green, something about her voice took me a long time to get used to and kept pulling me slightly out of the story. Not enough to stop listening, more a little niggle.
The story itself is great. I love the fact that although Accacia doesn’t know what she is she has suffered the downside of it her whole life. Brilliant idea. Really enjoyed the different take on the paranormal creatures involved and the world they inhabit. Looking forward to diving further into the world in the next book.
Interesting start to a new paranormal series by Bea Paige, narrated by Megan Green.
Accacia lives in the night, having no idea why daylight affects her. Her answers arrive in the form of three hot Vampires. Who answer her questions and give her other startling realization that she must deal with or possibly lose someone who has become dear to her.
Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession.
This is the first book in the Sisters of Hex 1st Trilogy. This is a great introduction to this Series. Accacia and her vampires : Rhain, Ezra, and Devin, are interesting characters. The narration was well done. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
4 star Review Accacia’s Curse by Bea Paige
Audio Review:
This was a new author to me, although I have listened to a couple of books narrated by Megan Green previously.
Paranormal is not a genre I often read or listened to. However I did enjoy Accacia’s Curse. Accacia suffers from a rare genetic disorder which has forced her to live her life in darkness. However when she meets Rhain, Ezra, and Devin, her life is changed.
Accacia’s Curse not only contained romance but suspense as danger reared it’s head. If you like your books to contain Vampires, Wolves and Witches then this may well be the book and series for you.
*AUDIOBOOK*
This is a adventure story more then romance and I found it a little drawn out. All in all I liked it because it had vampires, wolfs, witches and more supernatural creatures.
There’s suspense and nasty predators to make it a bit scary and nerve wracking.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and good dialogues (although at times a little stilted)
The characters descriptions is good.
Narrator:
I did find the voice good some times but other times I got irritated.
She’s not doing a good enough male voice in my opinion.
But the pronunciation is clear and she reads with feelings.
This is part of a trilogy.
I loved this book! It has a very unique world and gives a very different view of how all the supernatural creatures came to be. You won’t be able to put it down! Can’t wait to read book 2!
Accacia has lived with her condition all her life, there is no one quiet like her and she is trying to find a cure while doing her normal job working in a lab. Her life changes forever when Roland her creepy co worker corners her in the work car park and a hot and sexy stranger saves the day. Now Accacia has three good looking vampires with very different personalities telling her crazy stories about her past as well as a prophecy. The story flows so well and the characters have great individuality that you really feel like you connect with them, there are some good twists as well as tension and feelings that leave you torn just like they are at times. I can not wait to see what we are in store for next and hopefully meet Blake again!
The book is a good paranormal storyline that is interesting. The characters are intriguing, engaging, and well developed. I did like reading this book.
I was quite impressed with this book. I wasn’t too sure about it based on the description, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is the first book in a series of three within the Hex series. I like that you can read each of the three books separately. However, I can’t wait to read the next book and the next series! The characters were well written and mostly likable. I say mostly because of Ezra, but his faults are explained well. There were a couple of spelling errors, but nothing too noticeable. All in all, a book I’d highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this first book in Bea Paige’s Accacia Trilogy. I found the parallel world and Bea’s different take on vampires unique and interesting. Also, who wouldn’t love three hot, sexy vampires. Accacia is skeptical of the other world and the role the three men say she is destined to play, but she goes along for the ride. This first book has me hooked, and I am eager to read the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest voluntary review.
I found this to be an excellent start to a series I cant wait to get my hands on. The writing style was incredible, the world building off the charts, and the story line and characters were
unique and just truly amazing. Thankfully by the time I write this the entire series is out so I’ll l be getting to work on the rest of them. It is a reverse harem Paranormal romance for adult readers. Accacias Curse blew my mind.
This is the first time I ever read anything from this author before this story. This story was WOW!!!! I had no idea what to expect from this author when I opened up the story and started reading it. It kept my interest from start to finish I loved reading it.
Meet Accacia. She believes that for the most part, she is just an ordinary girl, but from a very young age, she learned to fear and shun the sun. After an incident of where she nearly died as a little girl, she spends her days hiding from the sun because it will be her death if she goes out into it. So she has created her life around this “condition.” It’s not easy. She can have no real relationships because those she has tried to befriend and even date quickly grow tired of her refusal to go out in daylight. So she contents herself with her job, that she enjoys, and being home alone bingeing on t.v. shows. Too bad her “condition” isn’t her only problem. She has a co-worker who honestly creeps her out but he obviously refuses to take a hint. He relentlessly pursues her and one early morning things turn ugly. A stranger comes to rescue and in the process, he and two others bring to light that she’s just as different as they are and that they hold the key to who she really is and her past.
Accacia’s Curse by Bea Paige is the first book that I have read by this author but I truly enjoyed this story. It is fast paced but flows beautifully. The story doesn’t jump around and make you wonder what happened. Accacia is an interesting character, but she lives in denial about a few things. I like the three men that come to her aid. They, overall, take some of her antics in stride, even putting themselves at risk to save her when she does something dumb. I like that overall Accacia didn’t sit around and bemoan her life. She’s come to accept that the sun is dangerous and she’s created her life around it. At the beginning of the book, the author hints that Accacia is looking for a “cure” for her “disease,” but sadly this gets lost in the waves of the story. I like to think that when Accacia learns the truth about her situation, and why it is the way that it is that she understands better and so puts aside that desire to find a “cure.” The sparks of interest that fly between the characters pull you in, but only one truly comes of something at this point. I’m curious to see if that changes as the next book progresses.
While I enjoyed this story it is not without its character flaws. Frequently it seems that Accacia holds the men responsible for the things that are happening to her. While some things can be attributed to this fact, all in all, it’s not true. Accacia’s biggest trouble, the co-worker, Roland, was her problem from the beginning before the men arrived. If they hadn’t saved her the first time, who knows what would have happened to her. But it seems she lives in denial of this fact since she constantly says “her life was fine before they showed up.” She’s an intelligent character, but that causes me to be disappointed in her. I can say that I found little to no editorial issues though, so there is nothing to distract the reader from the overall storyline.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story is engaging from start to finish. There is more than meets the eye to each of these characters and I love it. The author does a fantastic job answering questions that arise and giving us just enough backstory on what happened. If you are a fan of paranormal romance novels, then this book is a good one to pick up and dive into. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and seeing where the author takes these characters!

What a curse!
This is a moving book with a lot of emotions running through it.
Cia finally finds out the why she, is the way she is. There are many close calls in this book and it made it so I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased , honest review.
Accacia’s Curse
A reverse harem novel
Sister of Hex: Accacia Book 1
Bea Paige
Oh I just loved this!!! It was an amazing read. I of course hate that it is the first part of a trilogy – but at least all parts of it are out now so I can finish it all at once. How can anyone not love a reverse harem about vampires? This was such a unique way to start the telling of it as well. I cannot for the life of me tell you who I will end up liking the best at this point which makes me like the book even better. Accacia does grow on you right away though so you know you like her, and the twists in the book hold your attention. A definite must read!!!!
This was a good read, I really liked the story line, characters, and the world-building. It was a bit slow for me, but I was also having a weird day. The writing was really well done and the ending really did leave me wanting to read the next book, so I guess this one was better than I’m remembering. But again that’s a me problem, I was unable to do a re-read before writing this review.
