I lived, fought, and died in the battle between good and evil. But not as a hero… After falling in battle, Lilith, known as Queen Merciless to foe and friend alike, expects to wake up in the toasty halls of hell —not the depths of the Underworld as a candidate for entry into the Academy for the Fallen.Confused, she assumes it’s either a misunderstanding or someone’s idea of a joke. Forced to … misunderstanding or someone’s idea of a joke. Forced to prove her strength with three challenging tests, Lilith is determined to dominate, showing she has no need for more schooling.
She’s no damsel needing protection or rescue.
Stuck with a former angel on the outs with God, a hellhound with a dangerous secret, and a trickster shapeshifter posing as the previous King of the Afterlife, Lilith thinks they should change the school’s name to Academy for Psychos.
Her opinion only strengthens when she meets the dastardly sexy headmaster.
There are no math classes. No one cares what books you read. And the only chemistry that matters is deadly.
Academy for the Fallen has no use for the weak and pure. Its purpose is to train an elite force of the evilest, blood driven souls to keep the Damned from escaping Satan’s grasp and unleashing hell on Earth.
Time for Lilith to dust off her crown and fight alongside the irresistible dark trio determined to win her affection.
There’s a new war to wage — the battle between evil and evil — and no one is a badder bitch than Queen Merciless.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Whoa buddy what an intriguing new world we get in this amazing start to a new series. We get a strong female lead that is learning who she was/is at the same time that we are. Once she wakes she is sent to The Trials and told nothing though she does meet some interesting new people along the way that just might be the difference between surviving and dying. All of this leads to one doozy of a cliff hanger that will have you wanting book two right now. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Wow, that was not at all what I was expecting it to be. But it was awesome! Again Avery Song has created fantastic characters, an incredible, adventurous storyline with dangers and laughs. I got a bit confused toward the end with all the different personalities, but it intrigued me to the point of knowing I definitely want to continue this series. I very much look forward to more of this storyline and these seriously great characters, Lilith and her very blunt straightforward personality is one I definitely relate to, same with Cerberus, and I am definitely enjoying the shape shifting personalities as well, then there is Lucifer whom I’m intrigued by with the way he is portrayed I very much look forward to more of him. Like I said, fantastic characters and for me the characters make the story.
Avery Song has done it again. She gave me a book that had me shirking responsibilities and saying “I’ll do it later, I’m reading.” LOL
Academy for the Fallen: Year One is the newest book by Avery Song and her newest series. This book hooked me from the beginning with the author giving me exactly what I wanted…Lilith’s fall. When someone says their character falls/dies in battle I want to read about it! I want to experience their last moments and those around them and that is exactly what I got. Loved it!
Lilith is so different from the average female MC. Yeah, you get your curvy characters with long hair and all that jazz but Lilith is 6 ft tall, curvy, gorgeous and just downright delectable. I love how she takes things in stride when she finds herself in the Underworld. When she goes out to face the trials she just handles things like a boss. I love her personality! If she’s in a killing mood she’ll give you a five-minute head start. Haha! You’re still gonna die, but at least you have those brief moments of hope right? LOL!
This book is truly amazing and I LOVED it! Now! I will say this…the story does get a bit bizarre down the line. I love bizarre, but this had me a bit confused at times as well, but I weathered through it because this book is just that good. I am currently trying to figure out which guy I like the best. LOL! I’ll get back to you later on my choice (I doubt I’ll make one).
The author does a great job giving readers surprise twists, turns, and so much more with this book. Some of the scenes and situations literally had me choked up because of how shocking they were. I was like…are you serious?!
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I loved every minute of this book and can’t wait for the next one. Lilith is a dynamic character and she’s got herself a nice harem of men going so the possibilities are absolutely endless for what is to come next! She may be called “Queen Merciless” but she does have a heart that will surprise you.
This book is so addicting and I was definitely hooked the entire time. The characters and the entire story line/ world all had me intrigued with everything going on. The author put a different spin on the underworld with things not being what they seem and what we all know them as. Definitely excited for whats to come and what will be with this series and the unique world this author has developed!
