As an academic, I always love a good college murder. This one was extra fun because the features department is the same as my own. Every other cozy series I’ve read set in academia has a female protagonist, and I loved having a male for a change. Lots of fun!
Two thumbs up! Great story start to finish, with totally believable characters. Highly entertaining and the ending comes out of left field. Highly recommend!Looking forward to the next book! Happy reading!
I liked the setting.
Great read.
Nice start to a new series. Characters were reasonable, hopefully a few will be better fleshed out in future books.
Academic setting is described in a humorously realistic way. Main character is well-drawn but there are too many secondary characters that aren’t as funny or interesting as I think the author intended. There are a lot of unfinished plot threads that seem to be set-ups for future books but clutter up the plot in this first one in the series.
A great cozy mystery to read on a Winter night.
This is a light, easy to read mystery set on a college campus. The author does not show a lot of familiarity with the reality of working in such a setting. The writing would certainly benefit from a good editor. I liked the story line well enough, just wished it didn’t read like a first draft.
Found some of the characters somewhat improbable, but did enjoy the read. Made me happy I did not go into academia!
Kept me guessing
Great characters with real personalities book has humor as well as mystery
Couldn’t believe the ending!
Nice cozy mystery
This was a fun mystery set in a college setting. The characters were likeable and despicable respectively and brought interest to the story.
Really enjoying characters and story. Very easy to read.
Entertaining and easy to read . Looking forward to the next book to be released(already devoured the second in the series!) . Enjoyed this book.
Fun new cozy. Interesting to see as 1st Person POV and with a male lead.
Too many similar names. Interesting plot lines but most of the characters are overblown enough that it is hard to really be in anyone’s shoes or behind any character. I’m currently reading the second book in the series and still not sure whether I like it or not. I hate to start a book and not finish so I’ll persist.
A surprise ending that left me wanting more.
Well written
