Legacy binds a family together… but the Kinsen/Butler legacy is in peril. Kinsen Ranch and Starlight Valley have seen many years pass. There’s been love and laughter, tears and triumphs, successes and failures… Four relatives are in line to inherit the horse ranches that’ve made their families famous:Dallas is thriving as a veterinarian alongside her father, Jackson has come of age as heir to the … veterinarian alongside her father, Jackson has come of age as heir to the dynasty, Savannah is a valuable asset at NASA, and Morgan owns his own construction company.
Savannah Kinsen has just been dumped by her fiancé of three years, and kicked out of her Houston apartment. It’s back home to Abundance for her, tail set firmly between her legs. As an astrophysicist, she’s been thrown completely out of orbit and her day only gets worse when she meets a hot-headed–albeit drop-dead gorgeous–cowboy who wants to steal an antique rocking horse out from under her in a toy store. Hell hath no fury, and Savannah’s a woman now fully scorned as she unleashes on him.
But she’s in for a big surprise come evening when where else does she end up meeting that same cowboy but the notorious Rusty Spur? Fate is funny like that and this Austin character seems far too swoony to be true. Savannah only thought she’d been thrown for a loop, for the chaos theory has nothing on this night, and the axis that her life was on has shifted–Ready or not!
Morgan Butler is the one and only son of Nate Butler. He’s an upstanding citizen of Abundance, holds a seat on the town council, and he’s a successful entrepreneur. The only thing missing in his life is a woman, and he’s only ever loved one–Kelsey Boyd. But the scars of their past have never healed and possibly never will. He’s tired of living without his true love and just when he decides he’s not going to ever again, a dangerous man storms in and threatens everything. His name is Max McClintock and he’s made a target of the Butlers and Kinsens…and their land.
Jax Kinsen’s life is exactly how he expected it would be. He’s got two loving parents, two amazing sisters, a ranch that’s on the map, and the girl of his dreams…or does he? When Cassidy Boyd gets an acceptance letter to Emory University, Jackson can’t see past his hurt and pain long enough to be proud of the free spirit dwelling inside her. She’s always longed to get out of Abundance, which is a direct contrast from what he wants. His heartbreak is all-consuming, until the shining Stella Jenkins shows up one day needing lessons and has him reeling. Can Stella heal all that ails him or will Cassidy have a change of heart?
Savannah, Jax, and Morgan all have a lot at stake. Their legacy is in jeopardy. All they’ve inherited stands to fall. Can this family battle darkness–once more–and come out intact?

Abundance Legacy is nothing short of EPIC! Swenson beautifully ties together all of the story lines for each Abundance character in this stunning series conclusion. We get to see newcomer Austin with Savannah Kinsen, which is a match made in the stars! We also get to see Morgan Butler with Kelsey Boyd, Savannah’s little brother Jackson with his love interest(s), and also Stella Jenkins and her love interest(s). Every single Abundance character you know and love makes an appearance in this book which made me incredibly happy. Having followed this series for a while now I’ve grown to love each character and it was wonderful to see them all and get so many follow ups! Yes there are a lot of main love interests in this book but it didn’t feel cluttered at all. Each couple was given ample time and attention. I’m very sad to see the series conclude, however I’m happy to see it done in such a beautiful way.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
Rudely dumped and still seething in Houston, NASA astrophysicist and engineer, Dr. Savannah Kinsen takes her frustration out on a handsome cowboy she briefly encounters in a bid to purchase a charming rocking horse before she returns home. Barbs are traded and sparks fly, but little do they know their futures are about to meet up again, this time in a honkytonk hangout in Abundance.
Vanna (Savvy) and Austin have an unplanned, steamy encounter that leaves them both breathless–until their romp in the hay encounter is interrupted by her dad, Jack, who also happens to be Austin’s boss. It’s not Austin’s first visit to the hayloft and Jack does not want his daughter involved with the perceived playboy trainer. Family tensions, break-ups and make-ups, ne’er-do-wells, mayoral aspirations, lethal conflicts and a horrendous twister take Vanna and Austin’s relationship on a roller coaster ride. Will their love survive? Or will career, events and family pressures put an end to their romance?
Author Swenson’s Abundance romance series is one I have had the pleasure to enjoy for a few years now. I love the characters and the chance to watch them grow and develop in each book. Every read in the series is like a family reunion of sorts, and is a delight to catch up with the characters you’ve come to know. I’ve truly enjoyed my reading jaunts to Abundance–land of mystery, romance and steamy encounters that intertwine the residents’ and visitors’ lives. This final book in the series is highly recommended–if you’re in the mood for breathtaking romance, Texas style, Abundance is the place to be!
I don’t wanna leave Abundance! It’s one of my favorite places to go lol. I am so sad to see this series come to an end, I need a few more books and more Austin and Savannah!
I have to say that Austin beat out Jack as my favorite Abundance cowboy! I know I know that was a tough person to beat out but man oh man Austin was just so damn good! He was the perfect mix of sweet, sexy, cocky and romantic! Shanna always writes the best cowboys and she really put did herself with Austin.
And my sweet, smart Savannah. Oh how I love her. I was so happy to get more of her and to see the woman she grew up to be. I loved her in Dallie’s story when she was just a little girl and to see her now, gosh I just loved it all!
And I just flippin LOVE how Shanna gives the POV of other characters in the stories. It really is a nice change of writing for me to read. I loved all these characters and for this to be the final book, it was so wonderful to get a wrap up of ALL the characters!
5⃣
recommendation of not only this book but this WHOLE series!
I adore the entire, idyllic Abundance universe. I’m sad this is the last novel for the Kinsen-Butlers. But what a way to go out!
Savannah Kinsen gets dumped from a 3 year relationship, kicked to the curb by a cheating fiance. So she does what she feels right – time for a trip home! On her way out of town, she meets Austin…a funny scene expanded on when they run into each other that night at the Rusty Spur. An astrophysicist and a cowboy, a magical night in Abundance, and buckle in for the drama that follows!
First, I have to say I love this pair. Savannah is perfect, just as I hoped she’d grow up to be. And Austin is absolutely hilarious! He gave me several real LOL moments! This is one of the best pairings yet!
I also loved Morgan Butler and Kelsey, who go through some real issues that touch the heart. Jax and Stella were also adorable, definitely adding more drama because he’s also in love with his childhood sweetheart Cassidy and Stella may have something else in store…(spoilers, you’ll have to find out yourself!)
And of course, we check in with our original Abundance heroes – Nat and Jack, Nathan and Jordan, Dallie and Cole, Buck and Viv, and beloved side characters like the Boyds.
This is the biggest book yet, I think, but it’s a fast-paced read. Lots of drama, laughs, and strings to be tied. There’s even a subplot vaguely reminiscent of Roadhouse, which kicks so much a$$
I’m go grateful to have come across the Abundance series. I’ve not been the most dedicated of Romance readers, but this has definitely renewed my feelings for the genre. Badass women, hot cowboys, a vivid and authentic town deep in the heart of Texas…how can you go wrong?
Farewell Abundance, and thanks for the amazing experience and memories!
I did not read the first 4 books in the series, but I do not think they are needed in order to enjoy this one. Prior events are mentioned, but not enough to be confusing.
I really liked Austin and Savannah as a couple. Her being a brainiac who worked for NASA, and him being a ex-soldier now horsetrainer. They completed each other. Their part of the story really drew me in and was my favorite part of the whole book.
Morgan and Kelsey had passion, history, and I really liked their story. Add in all the mystery and it made it even better.
Jax, Cassidy, and Stella’s part of the story was really good. It definitely showed perfectly what can happen to a relationship after high school if one of them moves away for school.
This is my first book by this author, so I’m not sure if this is her usual writing style, but I did not care for it really. It was hard at times to distinguish whose POV it was, especially since it was written in 3rd person. I wish each persons POV would have been marked when changed since there were so many different characters.
Besides that I absolutely loved this book. The secondary characters were awesome. I loved Jack. I loved his and Austin’s scenes together. Fighting one minute, and getting along the next.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves hot cowboys, and strong heroines
I received an arc of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review
This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha males and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Be still my beating heart! I have completely and utterly fallen in love with this whole book series, the amazing beautiful little family. It was surreal reading them as all grown ups but no less magical, with edge of your seat moments thrown in. I’m so sad this families story has come to an end but so grateful to of been lucky enough to read and fall in love with them all.
Shanna you are amazing thank you for giving me my first and favourite cowboy series
Where to begin…or should I say end?
The latest and last(enter ugly cry here) was one of my favorites in the series. The way Shanna introduced new characters while letting us catch up with all of our favorites from past books is seamless.
Legacy picks up several years after Stars and introduces you to Austin Montgomery, who has had a run-in with the youngest Kinsen daughter, Savannah (Vanna, Savy), and the sparks fly! Her sass and his arrogance make for some hot chemistry.
Don’t worry, Shanna doesn’t just give you romance; she provides you suspense and intrigue, and this book is no different. The “who dun’ it” and how can we fix it subplot keep you on your toes.
Catching up with old faves like Jack (still swoony at 60!) and Natalie, Dallie and Cole and Vivian and Buck…along with others is just what a series ending needs. But she didn’t stop there. She gave us a whole new group of Kinsen and crew to love! We get to see a grown Jax (man does he take after his dad!) and how he navigates family, relationships, and the turmoil he encounters. We also meet his cousin Elias Kinsen, and I wouldn’t mind getting to know him better!
Shanna has roped me in since my very trip to Abundance, and as sad as I am to have this series over, it won’t be the end of me reading books by Ms. Shanna Swenson!
