When Paige MacKenzie arrives in Jackson Hole, her only goal is to complete a simple newspaper assignment about the Old West. However, it’s not long before her instincts tell her there’s more than a basic story to be found in the popular, northwestern Wyoming mountain area. A chance encounter with attractive cowboy Jake Norris soon has Paige chasing a legend of buried treasure, passed down through … through generations.
From the torn edge of a water-damaged map to the mysterious glow of an antler arch, Paige will follow clues high into the mountainous terrain and deep into Jackson’s history. Side-stepping a few shady characters who are also searching for the same hidden reward, she will have to decide who is trustworthy and who is not.

It’s rare to find a great cozy mystery set in Wyoming so when I found this one, I snatched it up. It’s got a fabulous lead character who meets a steamy but sweet mystery man and solves a generations-old puzzle. Sounds simple, but there’s a twist you’ve got to read to believe. This book kicks off one of my now-favorite series.
Good book to read, has lot information on Jackson Hole , I didn’t know after working there with a good twist of the author’s character’s added in.
Can’t wait for the next book.
I liked it
For decades, it has been rumored that a cache of gold is hidden in the mountains of Wyoming. Several people are anxiously plotting to find it, but there are a lot of mountains in Jackson Hole, and no one knows where to begin looking.
A good looking cowboy/ranch owner and a pretty writer visiting from New York are the main characters. He’s …
This book had an interesting twist. I had a hard time putting it down.
Not ‘very realistic
Loved it.
I live in this area—I could picture it all. Wonderfully researched (except by September there is always snow In Jackson Hole!!) I loved the story, I enjoyed the characters. I really appreciated that the “love interest” was kept clean, so it was that much more enjoyable. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Unsurprisingly predictable; many time travel stories are well done, but this one was corny. Plot kind of fell on its face.
this author’s books are always great reading.
I chose to read this book because of the setting in Jackson Hole. It was an okay mystery but a little far-fetched. Not a great deal of depth but entertaining. I liked the female character, she had some backbone.
Felt predictable and unrealistic. . .and I read lots of “cozys” so I wasn’t expecting a hard-driving crime mystery.
Above the Bridge by Deborah Garner offers a unique mystery of seeking lost treasure in the “wild west” of Wyoming with newspaper writer Paige and mysterious Jake. It’s a easy-read with some fantasy thrown in to make the plot unpredictable and romantic, too.
I’m a sucker for going back in time and meeting people that are related to a main character! Add to that an interesting mystery with a treasure hunt and the start of a romance and I’m in! I loved Above the Bridge!
Paige MacKenzie is a journalist living in New York City. She is sent to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to write a story about the area but also …
Has a twist I wasn’t expecting. Maybe I didn’t read the reviews!
Enjoyed this book. I liked the ending. A bit of a surprise.
Fun read and hopefully not the last one for these characters.
Didn’t like the back in time storyline.
This book had a good beginning. Well developed characters and really had me interested in the story line then the supernatural stuff began and I wasn’t as interested. I finished the book and I still thought it was good , but the time travel just made it to far fetched.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was different from most of the cosy mysteries I’ve read. The characters are really personable and this book based on Jackson Hole was a winner from the start. Once I read this book I went on to read the rest of the series and have loved them all.
