Emily Finland, twenty-five, college graduate, hot mess, lover of all things cheese. Hasn’t had a date in a year. Yeah, that’s not something I would put in a dating profile. Ever. In fact, I can’t be bothered to date. There are so many awful guys out there. I much prefer to Netflix and chill with a pizza. But of course, my busybody best friend Charlotte was having none of that. She persuaded me to … to go on a blind date and even though I was reluctant, I decided to go. I never expected to meet a man like Liam Montgomery.
Liam Montgomery, forty, rich, cocky, wears a rolex, likes expensive whiskey, completely out of my league. He was not who I would have chosen to have gone on a blind date with. Just because he was gorgeous didn’t mean he would make a good boyfriend. Plus he was way too old for me. That didn’t stop me from flirting with him though. Or from spending one very long exciting night with him. I’m not going to tell anyone about that night. Ironically, it turned out that Liam hadn’t even been my intended date. Oops!
Unfortunately for me, hot mess Emily, the biggest shock of my life was still to come. For while Liam and I should never have been, he’s not about to leave my life quite that easily. You see I’m celebrating my dad’s retirement with my folks and Liam is also there. Only this time, he’s not alone.

Emily’s friend sets her up on a blind date but she doesn’t send her a picture of the guy. So when she is looking around the restaurant she assumes the older guy waving is her date. Matteo is stunned by the hot mess in front of him but intrigued enough to sit through dinner to learn more about her. Even after telling him that he is too old for her Emily still ends up leaving with him for the night. They have an amazing night together but he is gone the next morning. Later that same day her parents are having a party and she’s to show up for it never in a million years did she think she’d see “Liam” walk into her parents place and with another woman. Upset she acts impulsively as usual and it takes Matteo aka Liam to get her in hand. It seems her father owes some bad people money and they are there to collect and Matteo is working for these people. Can Matteo convince Emily that everything will be alright? Can they be together with how he has lied to her?
This is a good story that will draw you in from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Ok this is my most fave book of JS Cooper wow Emily and Liam/ Matteo’s story was HOT & STEAMY.
Emily met Liam on a blind date and thought he was her date and was very rude towards him but thats what intrigued him towards her.
A one night stand turned into a crazy love story that kept me wanting more and not putting it down.
The storyline was great from stealing from the mafia to finding love.
You must read this book
About Last Night is a story about a blind date gone wrong with mistaken identity and miscommunication on Emily’s best friends part. Emily and Matteo weren’t supposed to meet on this blind date but fate had other plans. And it was a complication Matteo did not need. This is an older man younger women romance. There is plenty of drama in this book with Emily’s parents, ties to the mafia, stolen jewelry and secrets.

Well, I’m kind of have mixed feelings over this book. I do think that there’s some good here but it kind of gets overshadowed by the not so good stuff. As a real fan of age gap romance, I was all in for this older man/younger woman story and I thought that the story idea was interesting and sounded cute. This book is not what I would call a quick read romance but it certainly read like one. There is really practically no relationship building or deep getting to know you moments. This pair’s attraction, chemistry and relationship really plays out like a instalust/instalove book and that would be fine if I had went into it thinking that was the type of book I was expecting. To be honest, regardless of what the actual story line was I never could stop feeling that this was more some random hookup and not a meet-cute romance. Add in dialog that waffled between cheesy and simply trying too hard and in my opinion you have a read that is just OK.
A fun, sexy and suspenseful story. It will have you hooked from the beginning to end with its twists and turns. The chemistry and banter are sizzling. A good storyline. It’s an entertaining read.
This book has a great story line. I loved so many things about it. I didn’t love how I felt like it was a little rushed and everything happened so fast. There was quite a bit of unneeded story between the girls. This was a great story line and it even had some suspense about some things. The parents issue is Eire and not explained well.
I do recommend this book if you’re looking for a story about friends that have each other’s backs, which I loved Emily, Anabel and Charolette’s relationship. Then you have Liam,Matteo and he’s the bad older boy that Emily had a great night with but he is not who she thought he was. One night stands should stay one night stands but it doesn’t seem like Emily’s will be that way.
I will still read this authors books
OMG I absolutely loved this book! After reading the blurb for this book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it, that I started counting down the days until I got this book in my hands. Fantastic story, that I couldn’t put the book down and ended up reading it in one sitting. Great story about going on a blind date and meeting someone else by mistake. I loved the plot and how it involved Charlotte and Annabel, Emily’s best friends too. This book was amazing with hot scenes, great banter, fabulous characters and the chemistry between them was sizzling and steamy. If you enjoy reading about Insta-Love, loyal friends and hilarious banter between those friends will have you totally in love with this series, just like I did. I’m anticipating When We Were Us to be as entertaining, fun and delicious as the previous two books in this series. Happy reading everyone!!
Talking about mistaken identity, well you sure do get that in this book. There is a whole lot of family drama, a hot sexy mafia boss, friends that go up and beyond, that will have your back no matter what. A father who believes he will have the next great wonder. A mother who won’t leave him regardless of all the trouble that’s coming their way, and insta- love. Also you get those laugh out loud moments. This one date set a trail of mayhem in its wake. There is so much drama I started to believe that what was happening from the story Annabelle told was the truth. She knew a whole lot but refuse to tell all. Emily has her moments but put a lot of faith in Liam (Matteo). This book is DRAMA at its best but sexy as well.
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!
Remarkable! Cooper delivers one spectacular approach, presenting this gem with 100% on point realism, showcasing such acumen, enthusiasm, fervor and unique insight propelling this jewel to staggering heights. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this bad boy into a tempest, bursting it into a hissy with a block busting culmination. Action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping dynamo while delivering an tightly coiled storyline and explosive plot, blasts this bad boy to life brilliantly. Toss in drama, betrayal, intrigue, danger, mounting suspense and chaotic situations along with a boatload of trouble while dodging disaster, you have one block busting masterpiece. The characters are authentic and genuine with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. The undeniable attraction and intense chemistry sizzles through the pages, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another perfectly. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions, as to give you a full understanding and realism that flows smoothly. Amazing job Cooper, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Emily is being set up for a blind date, yet she has no clue what her date looks like – just where to meet him. When she arrives at the restaurant, she finds an older guy (15 yrs) waving her to his table. Even though they never exchange much information, their evening is off the wall hot. Several days later, Emily encounters him again at her father’s retirement/moving to FL party
The layers of deception begin to grow deeper. Emily definitely lusts after him, but there is a deluge of deception that follows Liam aka, Matteo, still coming. How deep is Matteo in the “Mafia “? What will happen to Emily’s parents? Is it possible for Emily and Matteo to come together as a couple?

This was an entertaining read. Emily is set up on a blind date and she assumes that a guy who is alone at the restaurant is who she is meeting. Well he is not the right guy, and he is a bit older than her. From there they have a night together, but things are complicated. It was kind of instalove, which is not my thing, I enjoyed the story otherwise. I liked the mystery and the mob angle, and I liked the hero, but I cannot say the same for the heroine. She kept harping on how old the hero is, but he’s hot so who cares. She was a bit naive for me, though she is young. I could not understand why in the world she would want her friends to stay at a mob family’s house. She seems clueless about what could be dangerous. Anyway, the writing was good, the plot is completely unrealistic, but that is why I read fiction, to escape the real. If you like instalust/instalove, quick reads and a HEA, read this. I’m very curious about the next couple.

This book was a surprise I thought it was some light chick lit about some poor girl with dating issues. Oh Emily has issues and ex that thanks he can just call her up for sex when he wants and the looser broke up with her then there’s her family it’s complicated but not as complicated as the man she just met. His family is worse then hers the cement shoes kind but Emily didn’t know that when she had a date with him but he wasn’t even her originally blind date.I
Liam that’s what he’s calling himself is older then Emily he should stay away but there chemistry is crazy and there one nightstand has gotten more messy when you consider her father’s connection what is Emily going to do Liam says trust him hill take care of everything he loves her man and they have just meet. I guess Italians really are crazy passionate yah I know what your thinking what’s and Italian guy doing with a name like Liam. This book had more then one twist it was a little dangerous and had plenty of secrets but it was still and interesting read with some funny scandalous moments.

I enjoyed the twists and turns in About Last Night. This story isn’t anything like your usual one-night stand story. Liam and Emily are connected in so many ways and their chemistry is scorching hot. This author brings suspense and mystery as well. I really liked the group of friends that Emily is surrounded with and we are reminded of a couple from a previous story. But more exciting is that we have another friend with her own story to tell. About Last Night is so consuming, I easily read this in one sitting.
Rating 2.5 stars. The book/plot is promising, just needs more work. The characters need more development. Emily doesn’t come across as a 25 year old, more like a 19 year old. Her parents were awful. Matteo was not much better. The dialogue was kind of stilted….did not flow well. The sex scenes were hot, though. Although I did not care for this book, I would still like to read about Charlotte and Max in the first book and about Anabel in the last book.

OH my goodness About Last Night keeps you hooked from the very first page drawing you into this brilliant storyline that flows seamlessly another masterpiece by this talented author Jamie Cooper.
What happens when your best friend sets you up on a blind date and you hook up with the wrong person ( mistaken identity) and that would be Liam Montgomery, older, gorgeous and many hidden secrets. Emily Finland is hooked but what is he hiding?? especially when he turns up at a party held for her father, the plot thickens with lots of twists and turns, some you just don’t see coming, but there’s no denying the sizzling chemistry between them but how can you totally trust someone when they lie so easily. Thank heavens for besties Charlotte and Annabel to keep Emily grounded and supported. Would I recommend this book most definitely so don’t miss out . I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I am happy to give.
What a mess! I’m not sure what happened here. I can hardly believe this story was written by JS Cooper. This story, unfortunately, is in such poor shape, even though it’s an arc it can’t be overlooked. I, can only hope a first draft accidentally put up in place of an edited draft. I really didn’t even want to finish. The story was so immature and silly I can’t really understand what happened here. The story needs serious editing. Not for just spelling, even though there certainly was a huge amount of those, the story had so many silly mistakes, wrong names, continuity issues. Thoroughly disappointing to say the least.

A blind date leads to a lot more than what she bargained for. He is actually not her blind date, but a much older guy and things go further than what she imagined they would.

5 Stars for About Last Night by J.S. Cooper
Amazon purchase – opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way …
LOVED THIS BOOK !!! Emily is set up on a blind date – the only problem is that the person she meets for drinks is not her actual date. The location for the date had changed but she didn’t get that text. A tall , dark & very handsome slightly older guy (40yrs to her 25yrs ) is sitting in the corner of the bar having dinner. Liam plays along without telling her who he really is & these two end up having a very sizzling one night stand. No phone #s or names are exchanged …
The two meet again a few weeks later when Emily attends what she thinks is her Dad’s retirement party only to find out her father is in serious trouble with the mafia. Liam shows up but his real name is actually Matteo – he is Capo & head of one most notorious organized crime families. Emily is furious and Matteo wants her to give him a chance to explain what is happening …
This book checked a lot of boxes for what I really like in a book :
Awesome characters & secondary characters
Age difference romance
Genre – mafia setting
Good girl / so called bad guy. ( but Matteo is not – he is trying to help Emily & her parents )
Scorching HOT chemistry – I though my IPAD was going up in flames
Smart funny / sarcastic humor
I read this book in one setting & it gets a night award since I finished at 2:00 in the morning !!!! Who needs beauty sleep
The sign for me of an awesome book is not wanting it to end & I’d really like to know more about what is going to happen down the road for Emily & Matteo
Highly recommend this book & author – GREAT READ !!
4.5
Quite the steamy story filled with twists! It all started with a blind date with the wrong person. An unforgettable night of passion was supposed to be just that, one night. Matteo and Emily never planned on seeing each other again but when he shows up at her father’s retirement party everything goes awry. Emily can’t get a straight answer from Matteo and she has so many questions. The more Emily finds out, the more danger she’s in. The question she’s most curious about is if Matteo is the danger or protection?
